Yes, the display is probably linked to a standard gps unit, not the bikes speedo. Navigation gps units tends to be significantly less spatially accurate than, for example, a survey grade gps. A hairpin turn can thus be entirely within its margin of error and hence the unit's calculated velocity and ability to distinguish between slow speeds and zero is a bit of a fuzzy area. I'm still using an old Garmin VIRB and when viewing the video it is evident that the gps tracking is usually a second or two behind what the video shows.
I have a Reevu with that after market ‘near eye’ HUD thing, which could be better. I like the Jarvis, but why have cameras? The Reevu system is more than sufficient and will always work as it doesn’t need batteries.

They’re just not worth the price tag hence why they flop. I’m surprised they didn’t include the reevu with the rear view visor and it’s totally affordable. You can put a a sena any camera on your helmet for a hell of a lot less. A lot of these companies are start ups that rely on donations but I’d totally rock the skully if it wasn’t $1500 and existed.

I know because I am considering it and have been researching it for a long time :) I have heard that the Reevu has a poor quality view. I wish I could make my own HUD setup. But yeah I agree with you about these Kickstarters. I was close to plopping down $1K on one of these in the video until I read the fine print that we are basically investing with no guarantee to get the product. That's happened to me with $100 items but $1K? No way.

ECE 22.05 Is European safety certification and would be most relevant i believe. DOT is American safety certification and a substandard certification to the ECE. Check your local regulations which certification they require.
I'll take a race proven, crash tested, light weight helmet like my AGV Pista GP over ANY of these "high tech" features. My helmet is meant to save my head, not for GPS, HUD, stereo systems, phone calls etc.. Are these helmets even DOT/SNELL/ECE Certified? Riders need to focus on the ROAD and not be distracted by displays, lights, calls, stereos in their helmet.
Skully's HUD is what made smart helmets interesting to me. I understand these are motorcycle helmets, but I can only speak for myself. I ride an electric unicycle. Before that, e-skateboards and other e-rideables without rearview indicators of any kind. The EUC in particular is my favorite but without being able to see behind as I switch lanes or make decisions, I am nervous. A $2K helmet may be overkill for a non-motorcycle but I don't own a car and it's more expensive to endure medical bills.
I'm so tall i have to mave my field of vision significantly off the road to check my speed while I'm riding, having the ability to know my speed without looking down while having a 300 degree field of vision woild be great mate, don't hate just appreciate.
@7.50 ish.. A warning sound and a light goes off in your helmet whenever a car is 240ft away.. Ha ha ha that's the most stupidist idea ever! Your head would look like a disco ball, Constantly changing colour and a alarm always going off..imagine using it at night, lol.. I can't think of a better way to get MORE distracted!!

Why are there no Impact Test results posted for comparison? Answering these two questions can initiate credibility. Until then, all these reviews are personal opinion. all Helmet's have a shelf life of 5 years in US I believe. Does this mean that a user should discard the tech along to adhere to the life of a helmet?
