Hristo Hristoskov There was actually one moment where you do hear an orc say "Lok'Tar Ogar" (if I spelt that right). Its the beginning when all the orc clans are gathering together. But I'm pretty sure that was just a shoutout to the fans like the merlock was.
Anyone else here who's psyched as a junkie with a spoon about seeing Lordaeron, Terenas, Arthas, Stratholme, High Elves in action, Kel'Thuzad, the fucking PLAGUE and the undead? Holy shit.
+L3ndzo83 Ner Zul was a puppet of Gul'Dan at this point in the story anyway. If I remember corrwctly, he only becomes LK after the humans go to Draenor, which is at the end of the second war. They can introduce him later OR Gul'Dan could simply be the one to wreck the shit out of the world and KJ could make him LK in the movie universe. Anyway, all he does is leave a skull later on.
Ner'zhul was never a puppet. He was played by Kil'jeaden into exterminating Dreanei but once he saw him for who he truly is, Ner'zhul wanted to back off. That's when Gul'dan came into power, because, unlike Ner'zhul, he didn't care about the orcs, just about himself. That being said, Ner'zhul was far away from innocent, as he had plans of his own. Ultimately, he just wanted to care for his people. He attempted to open multiple other portals to worlds which they would invade (as Draenor was still dying- the consequence of Fel Magic the Shadow Council unleashed upon it). When you look at it, they both have met quite a similar end. Ner'zhul, tortured by the Legion, and Gul'dan killed at the Tomb of Sargeras.
+Matej Maretić After he realised the mistake he made, he was forced into submission by Gul Dan, who took his place under KJ, but Ner Zhul was kept alive, because he was still well respected. So for a time, he was a puppet. Also, lol, he so didn't win his end game as Lich King.
Deathskull0001 I don't recall it ever been said that he was forced into submission. Gul'dan simply took over the role, as he acclaimed more political power among orcs. Ner'zhul realized he was leading his people to doom and didn't want to stand for it, but it's hard to regain political power, especially when your opponent has KJ as his ally (and we both know how cunning KJ is). Ner'zhul simply lost his popularity among orc clans but was still well respected for Gul'dan to kill him. Puppet does what the puppeteer wants and Ner'zhul wasn't doing what Gul'dan willed. But he wasn't able to do much against him either.
This movie was awesome. I recommend everyone give it a fair chance and ignore the critics. Special effects were amazing, story was great, and the jokes were funny plus amazing soundtrack obviously. I would definitely see it again.
I agree. I really enjoyed it. And since I don't know the game I was surprised by the story. Lothar was so great!! Loved the old school look to the sets, props and costumes, like the 30's movies I used to watch on TV as a kid :) Not for today's cynical audience.
and then you actually watch the movie and cry that such good music went with such a crappy script...seriously, they did a CGI scene where a character flies across Stormwind to Kharazan crossing water...there is no water between the two. At all. Did no one play the game?
@@shadowmatrix0101 that's the most minor thing to have a problem with maybe the story being disjointed, maybe the major plot points being left out, etc.

Directors and movie companies out there, learn from Warcraft. This is a video game licensed movie done right.
if you thought that was brutal...he's real canon death according to the books was that he was sliced up into pieces along with his wife by blackhand's orcs
Low reviews from critics, the film has been very well received by the general public! rotten tomatoes gave it a 19% rating, where as 91% of the users on the website recommend the film and gave it a 6-9/10 rating. The movie hasnt been released everywhere yet and china is known for their love of Warcraft so i can see it doing very well there and generating most of its profit from there too, I hope its well recieved in North America on friday when its released there because its actually quite a good movie, id recommend it if you have not seen it yet.
Dazz the movie was catered for the fans only. It has terrible pacing, and it throws at you like 10 names and cities the first few mins where a non fan would get confused who is who and where is where. The movie does not take its time to explain to you locations or character development. They would think as a fan you would know, but if they need to make the money for a sequel, they would have to cater way more other people than just fans where it has failed in that. It won't be able to make the money. But we will see.
I saw the movie yesterday and I can say without a doubt that its amazing, surpassed my expectations. Some of the best CGI I've seen and its just a well made movie. I hope many people will go and support it because if its successful we'll get more movies possibly a trilogy! Edit: Watched it twice now, went with a friend that played WOW a lot more than I did (I only got to lvl 20) and we loved it. Srsly if you're a fantasy movie fan go and watch it, you don't have to be a gamer to understand what happens in this movie.
It would be possible to make 2 more movies just from the story started in this one, there are so many amazing stories they could tell. I just hope the movie is successful ;-;
you are missing a great story that actually sticks fairly well to the lore of the game if you enjoy the game you are fooling yourself not watching this movie.
I was expecting this movie for so long, and then i saw the trailer and everyone in the comment section was like 'we better not have high expectations from this movie'. Well, I just watced the movie and i LOVED it. Can't wait for the second movie.
I've never played the games. This movie was pretty damn good to me. I'm unsure how much this story is similar to the games other than the Orcs vs Humans. And Paula Patton is so damn fine. Robin Thicke fucked up.
I only kind of know the lore, and from what I can tell some slight differences are... 1) The orcs win this war and take over Stormwind, Lothar comes back very pirate like and retakes the city. 2) Dalaran is not a city in the sky at this point, not totally sure what happens but it involves a huge badass called Archimonde. 3) Garonna didn't betray the king for a good reason, she was also corrupted by the fel (at least I think)
beckmanator69 I saw some vid that Mevih eventually atones for what he did and ends up being a good guy again when he comes back in one of the games. Can't remember which one.
+beckmanator69 I don't remember exactly, but I think Garona was brainwashed by Gul'dan and forced to assassinate Llane. The way they did it in the movie didn't really make sense to me. There are lots of other differences too, like the way that Durotan and Draka die is completely different (they are simultaneously assassinated by agents of Gul'dan). Most of the changes I could understand, though.
The problem with critics is that this movie was MADE for FANS not for everybody. They should've brought in fan critics to judge this. You dont bring a normal food critic to judge food made for people that has broken tastebuds and needs the food to be twice as salty etc and then accept their criticism for it being too salty.
The film in itself was pretty bad. And I’m saying this as dude with 178 days played on his main, not counting his alts See, what made LoTR so great is that is was both an amazing movie for fans and neophytes alike. Is Warcraft entirely bad? Not really, no, but it could have been way better Is Ramin Djawadi absolutely awesome? Of fucking course but we knew that since GoT and Pacific Rim
They should have kept to the novels and not try to re-write what happens. They tried to do too much into one movie by combining The Last Guardian and Rise of the Horde and ending up messing it up badly and creating something totally new that didn't really appeal to the players who read the novels or played the original games. The cinematography, the CGI, the soundtrack, all amazing. The acting and screenplay, pretty bad. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.
Watched it twice now. Amazing movie. I wouldn't have written the story the way they did, I think there would've been a more interesting way to portray this era of WoW lore, but what they gave us works fine as well. Gul'dan was an absolutely amazing character, and the momentum of the movie really was with the Orcs throughout. The human side was okay. I think for this movie to have been able to elevate from good to great was if they had committed more to the story of Orcs. That's where all the interesting stuff is at.
This era of Wow if you count Post WoD is fucking horrible and I hope they dump that shit and not making it canon. I would have been more interested in a Founding of Durator movie with Rexxar, Thrall and Drek'Thar. But they will probably follow this movie with more movies about thrall and probably about Arthas in the end. But I hope they don't try to force his lore into one movie, that would make he angry.
Erik Brandt Sure, so I should've said that :P Point stands in that the events surrounding the first opening of the Dark Portal have throughout the years been so properly fleshed out that they could've chosen to tell a more interesting story in the movie. That is all I am trying to say. Not that the story they chose to tell was bad. But I did think they left out a lot of stuff I would've liked to see.
Epicness starts at 4:22 !!! I went to see the movie with almost zero expectations. But when I heard that part and the orcs were storming the portal I was like "f*******ck this movie is gonna rock " !!! Blizzard have done it ! The movie is great - you got all your favorite characters - Blackhand, Orgrim, Durotan, Garona and Ragnar Lothbrok of course ! The fight scenes are great - you can really feel the brute force the orcs have and watching Doomhammer hit someone and sending him feet away was hilarious.
To be fair, I was afraid it would suck because of the critics, but I went saturday and it's actually very nice. True it does have a fast pacing and there's only that much time for all the lore and characters... I heard directors cut is 40 min more (can't wait for that) However this really is a movie to experience at the cinema and I'm already looking forward to the sequel.
SPOILERS! This movie made me cry...the emotional stuff really was portrayed well. When all the draenei were sacrificed, when durotan and his wife...and Llane. oooo I cried. in the cinema...
So, I'm looking at my brother, watching Warcraft videos right now. The guy hasn't played WoW in years and never did play RTS games at all. He saw the movie yesterday. I'd say Duncan Jones and Co. did a good job as far as getting the audience to play their games goes. Kudos!
This movie was awesome and it gave me the chills. The CGI was breathtaking. This soundtrack is a masterpiece. The general atmosphere was of the highest quality and I'm going to wait for the sequel like I usually wait for the dinner. Can't wait!
I loved this movie, and it is more complex than many critics considered. For example, when Lothar was separated from his son by the magic wall, he tried to reach him, and held out his hand. When he and Khadgar were fighting Medivh, he did the same thing, tried to reach his young friend and couldn't help him becaue of the Fel. So many people overlooked its originality and all the other positive things and saw only "game movie". I saw it 3 times and loved it, and I play this music often to remind myself of how much I enjoyed it. Cant wait to see more from your, Duncan.
I liked the movie a lot, even my mom loved it and she never ever played wow or anything warcraft related is a complety foreign terrain for her. But the best thing I remember was, when Travis appeared first time on screen the whole cinema yelled "hail ragnar!" :D
marcuspvxea Well currently in the current lore, he's now going by his birth name of Go'el even though some, and most players, still call him Thrall. There are even some parts in WoW in which he's now called that by some and even his life-mate Aggra has been seen calling him that.
marcuspvxea Current as the game and books. Of course the movie would have him go by that name since Aedelas Blackmoore wasnt seen yet in the movie to rename him to thrall.
Still hoping on a sequel. Loved the movie. Have played the game for around 12 years. Dont know what people were wining about the movie. Music is great also.
Imo people like more Marvels than fantasy movies and second reason movie was based on Warcraft 1 and hardcore fans wanted Warcraft 3 or WoW. I was hoping on a sequel too, but don't believe it will happen anymore :(
I freaking loved t his movie, as did my husband. My brothers loved it too, and they went in not knowing a damn thing about the game or the lore. After listening to this, I'm going to have to go watch it again and again.

I read that and thought "Spoiler Spoiler" and quickly scrolled away ... until I remembered that I know the lore by heart and know that durotan died xd
if you thought that was brutal...he's real canon death according to the books was that he was sliced up into pieces along with his wife by blackhand's orcs
I become hype as fuck when I heard a FAMILIAR SONG at the end of the movie
same leaving the cinema and then the world of warcraft theme came on and i freaked out
they had the game music in the credits? i never heard it :/ now i wish i had stayed for the credits :p
it after the fancy credits when the normal black and white credit starts, the old log in music starts to play.
+Donovan4893 i'll have to remember to watch the credits when it comes out on dvd then xD
quite similar with captain america thou
Just saw this movie yesterday and I already can't wait for the next one! :D :D
yea same, it was awesome and so well done, both with the scenery and music ! :D
me too! I want to see what story from the games they decide to adapt ^^
sorry to burst ur bubble there won't be a second one with these low reviews and pretty sure it won't make enough money for a second one.
Thumbs up if you saw Hellscream in the movie!!
Filthy casual, what about Kilrogg Deadeye and Kargath Bladefist.
+DynamicDarkness where the fuck was kilrogg
At the end battle, he had brown hair and obviously an empty eye socket.
I spot everybody beside Kilgrogg
a brown redish short ponytail, then all his head shaved, and his left eye empty
"GUL'DAAAAAN!!!....You have no honor!"
Favorite line
Legit one of the most epic scores ever
Im glad to say i have a bunch of friends who never played the games and loved the movie :)
Bring them to wow so . They will love it
46:07 to 46:20 So heroic! I love it! Why can't it last longer?!
Yet people may prejudge it due to the terrible rating by critics but the way I think of it is fuck the critics
It would be possible to make 2 more movies just from the story started in this one, there are so many amazing stories they could tell. I just hope the movie is successful ;-;
They can't admit that a game has an amazing story. It's all about the superhero crap nowadays
maybe ill watch it on redbox, but i'll probably won't watch it.
you are missing a great story that actually sticks fairly well to the lore of the game if you enjoy the game you are fooling yourself not watching this movie.
Warcraft 3 - Medivh atones by helping the Alliance and Horde unite to fight Archimonde.
+Dr. L yea, thats a good story not wow shit
I literally listen to this soundtrack daily while I'm at work so I can focus on whatever needs to be done. Perfect background music.
lol same ;)
The problem with critics is that this movie was MADE for FANS not for everybody. They should've brought in fan critics to judge this. You dont bring a normal food critic to judge food made for people that has broken tastebuds and needs the food to be twice as salty etc and then accept their criticism for it being too salty.
The film in itself was pretty bad. And I’m saying this as dude with 178 days played on his main, not counting his alts
See, what made LoTR so great is that is was both an amazing movie for fans and neophytes alike. Is Warcraft entirely bad? Not really, no, but it could have been way better
Is Ramin Djawadi absolutely awesome? Of fucking course but we knew that since GoT and Pacific Rim
im not a fan(i dont play this and nor other similar games) and i fucking loved it. I went to bed after and put on this soundtrack to fall asleep to😭
Just USA had a problem with this film xD
@@EdgeyStyle It’s just a bad movie tbh
They should have kept to the novels and not try to re-write what happens. They tried to do too much into one movie by combining The Last Guardian and Rise of the Horde and ending up messing it up badly and creating something totally new that didn't really appeal to the players who read the novels or played the original games. The cinematography, the CGI, the soundtrack, all amazing. The acting and screenplay, pretty bad. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

went to watch the movie twice. 10/10 would watch again :')
The movie is worthy of the Warcraft title not just because it respects the games lore but because it is fucking amazing
Can't wait for the next ones!
I was talking about the movie's story, so when I said "this era" I was referring to the Warcraft 1 era, because that's what the movie is about :P
Tim Arthur Well, that's not WoW lore, it's Warcraft.
I just wish they'd ended it where the actual game ends, i.e. with the destruction of Stormwind.
thank you so much you made my day in the beginning of it
the movie is so epic ... ty for the soundtracks
I still listen to this Soundtrack. It is an amazing composition and the film forged it Deep into my heart. I loved that film.
I need more warcraft movies, this was amazing
My mother has never played world of warcraft in her life, not one bit. She LOVES this movie and I am really surprised.
i actually like this movie it was pretty cool =D
They certainly got the right man for the job.
For the Alliance, for Azeroth!
The movie was awesome, i saw it 2 days ago and im still thinking about it.
53:53 this gives me goosebumps
i didn't notice this part in the movie?
azuremyst was technically my first zone when i started WoW ♥
To be fair, I was afraid it would suck because of the critics, but I went saturday and it's actually very nice. True it does have a fast pacing and there's only that much time for all the lore and characters... I heard directors cut is 40 min more (can't wait for that) However this really is a movie to experience at the cinema and I'm already looking forward to the sequel.
I absolutely adored the soundtrack. goosebumps the whole time.
Movie was absolutely awesome, fuck the critics.
Great soundtrack for an okay movie!
Buuuut as a long time Warcraft fan I think I'll go watch it again just in case...
Second time was better :D
SPOILERS! This movie made me cry...the emotional stuff really was portrayed well. When all the draenei were sacrificed, when durotan and his wife...and Llane. oooo I cried. in the cinema...
Medivh is the best song for me so far
Just loved this movie! I didn't expect it to be so good! One of the best of its kind.
I justed subbed. Nice music channel: Lok'tar ogar!
+Minato Namikaze Thank you for the sub! Look for Legion music as soon as it hits Beta.
+Warcraft Music and Gaming 🎶👍
Lok'tar ogar! For the horde!
Mak'Gora me mate!
+Morst Cz True!
So, I'm looking at my brother, watching Warcraft videos right now. The guy hasn't played WoW in years and never did play RTS games at all. He saw the movie yesterday. I'd say Duncan Jones and Co. did a good job as far as getting the audience to play their games goes. Kudos!
Loved the movie. Love the soundtrack. Just re-subbed to wow. Dammit Blizzard!!
This movie was awesome and it gave me the chills. The CGI was breathtaking. This soundtrack is a masterpiece. The general atmosphere was of the highest quality and I'm going to wait for the sequel like I usually wait for the dinner. Can't wait!

AMC PRESENTS: THE WALKING HORDE
Just watched it again...oh yeah that's the good stuff
Best thing about this movie and incidentally Game of Thrones is Ramin Djawadi's almost diabolically fiendish and clever scores.
Love the film, love the soundtrack.
Lothar.... For Azorath, For Azorath and the alliance!!
Azeroth,but nevermind...
Another brilliant theme by djawadi. Absolutely stunning from start to end.
AWESOME MOVIE!! CAN'T WAIT FOR PART TWO! ♥
I liked the movie a lot, even my mom loved it and she never ever played wow or anything warcraft related is a complety foreign terrain for her. But the best thing I remember was, when Travis appeared first time on screen the whole cinema yelled "hail ragnar!" :D
Go'el by birth but is known as Thrall.
And now he went back to being known as Go'el.
Gamer Dan What do you mean?
marcuspvxea Well currently in the current lore, he's now going by his birth name of Go'el even though some, and most players, still call him Thrall.
There are even some parts in WoW in which he's now called that by some and even his life-mate Aggra has been seen calling him that.
Gamer Dan What do you mean by the current lore? Legion or the movie?
marcuspvxea Current as the game and books.
I was hoping on a sequel too, but don't believe it will happen anymore :(
"Noble and manly music invigorates the spirit, strengthens the wavering man, and incites him to great and worthy deeds." (Homer)
I freaking loved t his movie, as did my husband. My brothers loved it too, and they went in not knowing a damn thing about the game or the lore. After listening to this, I'm going to have to go watch it again and again.
I love the first music!!
Fantastic movie I already know I'll be watching it again sometime soon because I'm here.
Lok'tar ogar! FOR THE HORDE
FOR THE HORDE 💪🏼
FOR THE HORDE!
OMFG...FOR THE ALLIANCE FOR GILNEA...oops that world of Warcraft...

They fucking nailed it...I want more Warcraft movies!!!
I really liked the movie and a couple non warcraft fan friends of mine as well. I get it had some problems but overall I think it was a good movie
LEADZODerZar
The part of the theme where the orcs were charging toward the portal always plays in my head ever now and then.
Can't wait for the part 2
Awesome movie. I really had goosebumps even at the beginning when logos of Universal, Legendary and Blizzard came out with that epic music.
I have never played the game but loved the movie. There should be a 2nd part. Dont know why people hated it was not that bad.
Who else felt really bad for the 2 human captains who were killed at the Dark Portal?
me :c
Chris Goldenmouth sad high five
Stelios Lysiotis Ωχ μόλις κατάλαβα ότι είσαι Έλληνας :O
+Chris Goldenmouth Εγώ σίγουρα δεν θα το έπαιρνα ποτέ χαμπάρι αχαχ
