The irony of this line is that the Route 39 bus, covers the former trolley route to Arborway, and the line to Jamaica Plain!! The line originally was the 39,and that transition occurred during the 1980's! Arborway[also known as Lotus Place carhouse],was an extremely busy place, and it really should be revived to cover the Washington Street routes, and the now former trolleybus operations! See the BSRA bulletin number 23,it will give you an overview! Thank you 😇 😊!!
It'll be weird not hearing, "The destination of this train is Lechmere," the next time I visit Boston. (Although I have to admit, I wouldn't miss that old station; I felt like it was about to cave in. 😄)
Is there any way I can contact you about potentially sharing you announcement audio files? You have the highest quality/most complete set of them I have been able to find on the Internet.
You could record it by your phone or iPad, because most of them today offer great quality in recording. Some even have algorithms to do noise canceling.
I love how the E goes from new grade separated LRT to the last streetcar line in Boston.
Can't wait to ride this line extension when I come home to visit next June, I rode the E line every day when I lived there
Loved this so much! Wanted to see a full length covered including the upgraded part of Lechmere and I finally got one.
The old station is being demolished as of now. This shows that Boston was the 1st city to have a Subway since 1897 predating New York by 7 years
It's officially gone now it's nothing but a pile of dirt as we speak
Thank you for spending time and sharing your love for the Trains of Boston!
Funny that the newest and oldest train stops are on the same line

I mostly ride the D branch but it's fascinating to see how the E branch goes right in the street instead of between the two. :)

Nice video, But music is way to loud.
Thanks for the tip
Music way too loud!
Those wheels need some WD -40!
Well it wouldn't be the green line otherwise.
why did you took this last week ella?
Union sq is not an extension there will be a extension of MEDFORD/TUFFS
Now, if they can only extend Green Line from Heath to Arborway/Forest Hills.... Oh, wait....
Didn't they try to do that but they though it would be to long of a trip or something like that.
Lol no one stopped at Back of the Hill
back of the hill is the least used station on the subway system
LOL If only the T ran as fast as it did in this video LOL - 6 minutes. Top to Bottom heh
No need for music
all for oglsby
