Gasket maker must go on the corners of the oil pan. There is an uneven surface under the engine block. Also, maybe I’m wrong, but it looks like the surface area under the engine block has been buffed. This is no good because some of this metal is very soft and buffing it with an electric tool can make the surface uneven, and so there can be oil leaks.
Let me say this please. Most of the videos are ok. This is what's missing on all the videos when it comes to replacing the oil pan gasket on the freightliner cascadia. Everyone skips over jacking up the truck and how to get the oil pan from under the truck when the frame is in the way. Do we lower or jack up the truck higher? Why skip over the most important part of all these videos. Show how to get the oil pan from under the truck without skipping..

You can see that he used 2 bottle jacks from the leave springs to the frame to get that gap needed.
