How to crochet bear beanie for newborn / bear hat tutorial

- Hello everybody. Today I would like to show you how to crochet this cute bear beanie. You can make the beanie as a gift for baby shower or just try to make it for your own baby. In this tutorial I will show you how to crochet the bear hat for newborn.
You will need chenille yarn. One ball of each colour is enough and also you need cotton black yarn for eyes. If you want to make fluffy pom poms for laces and fluffy ears you"ll need also fluffy yarn. I use yarn called Mink from YarnArt brand.

Hi this is so cute. I couldnt follow the 6th round. 2hdc inn1st st and 4 hdc in each st. When the 5th round is 36hdc im not sure abt the calculation of 43hdc in next round. I even couldn't follow the ear flap part 12 stitches and 7 stitches gap part. Could u pls explain that part as well. And at the end of 43 stitches first 12 stitches are marked later on i couldn't follow. Pls help.

I am sorry for later reply. You have to count chains on the beginning as hdc. So in the first round you have 9 st, then 18 st, 27, 36, 36, 43. It's right.
Maybe it made you confused because we did not follow system (increase every fourth st) but only like this you'll get the small newborn size.
Ear flaps part:
count 12 st from the stitch where you finished the last round of hat and use stitch marker (earflap). Then count another 12 st (front part of the hat) and use another marker. Count another 12 st (earflap) and mark the st. You should have 7 st left (back part of the hat).

You can use other yarn but the size of hat will be different..
