As a few reactors mention here, people have survived traumatic trauma to the brain on many occasions, and yes, sometimes after being shot in the head. Placement matters a lot.

My friend who studies about things about the brain (there’s a term for that I just forgot what it was) they say the part of the brain he shot at was the area where the nerves sends signals to the brain alerting the body of pain, but since it was shot, the signals had nowhere to go
Top that with pure adrenaline and you got him being able to stand up from being shot in the head

The explosion caused by the gunpowder would cause the hole created by the bullet to rapidly expand, then contract
Basically a concussion on steroids, and it puts a hole through your brain
Not to mention the temperature caused by such a rapid expansion, and subsequent contraction

It being point blank is what saved rex. Basically when you normally die getting shot in the head its because the bullet bounces around in your head. The caliber and it being point caused the bullet to go straight through.
Point blank would be worse no? I feel like the gasses would turn your brain to mush

It's both it being point blank and the placement of the shot being not in the middle. The bullet probably just scraped the brain, leaving most of it intact. As long as the brainstem remains untouched and there's not a large portion of the rest of the brain destroyed, the survival change of an injury like that is bigger than one might suspect.

It's happened before, people get grazed in the brain and stay alive due to pure adrenaline. He was also probably going through shock and that's what kept him from feeling the agonizing pain of both a portion of his brain being gone, and punching a person with the stump where his hand used to be.
According to another comment, the part of the brain he was shot in is the part of the brain that all nerve endings meet at, so where the pain signals get sent to be processed by the brain, but he was shot there so the nerve signals had nowhere to go, so he just literally didn’t have the capability to feel the pain
Adrenaline doesn't really matter.
As long as you're not shot in the center of your brain, you won't die instantly and in some cases, might not even lose consciousness.
People have survived brain shots in the past irl.
And much worse things than a bullet. Just look up Phineas P. Gage.

As a comic reader i like the sight changes they made and it leaves future surprises actually a surprise or something. But either way seeing it brought to the screen just makes it so much more brutal. Cant wait for the future. No spoilers fellow fans. Lets all enjoy it together.

As surprising as it may seem. Many people have survived “Headshots” from bullets to metal spikes. As long as the brain bits that keep you alive are working, your “ok”. Now the side effects of such a thing happening are sometimes awful, from the loss of ALL ability to feel fear to never being able to remember anything new ever again.

No, in real life a gunshot wounds to the head, there was a mortality rate of 41%. However, this increases to 74% if the wound is an isolated head wound compared to 52% for non-isolated.
But notice its never 100% so that 59%, 26% and 48% is still open to survival
I love that EVERYONE has the same reaciton to this scene. They assume SOMEONE is going to help him, especailly since they use the gun as a cliffhanger. Then he gets domed without a second thought. Also, watching Rex jab his sharp, shattered bone into this assholes face is my favorite moment from him. He earned every frame of that title card.
This may be spoilers but Rex is an artificially made hero like Eve. The durability of his skin was enhanced due to his ability having to do with explosions 😂
Part of why Rex survived is cause he actually has increased agility strength and durability from when he got his powers originally as a government experiment

I just realized, when Rex got shot, the gun was at the upper right corner of the skull, meaning he did get shot but the bullet didn't hit any vital parts of the brain. So Lizard King was just too cocky, that he shot in the wrong spot. Clever detail and Sweet Karma. 👌👍👍

If you are wondering how he survived this, there are two ways. One, and this has happened a lot and is the most likely, because of the low angle at which the bullet entered, it was deflected by his skull and skittered past under the skin to come out on the front. This is definitely the most likely, as despite the blood, there is no bone or anything to suggest the bullet penetrated the skull. Bone can deflect bullets when hit at a low angle, and although it certainly has happened with the skull, it is more common with ribs.
The second option is that the bullet somehow did penetrate the skull and exit the other side, missing the brain completely. The human brain is much smaller than the outer dimensions of the head, and the barrel of the gun was certainly lined up outside the area the brain occupies. This option is much less probable and much less survivable.
Rex was shot in the brain. The bullet went clean through and hit a less vital portion of the brain. Survival under such circumstances is known to happen.
@@En.GergerRacc Yes, that is very true. One of my teachers as a teen was a woman who was blind in one eye after her abusive boyfriend shot her in the head. He put a .22 under her chin and shot her, the bullet traveled up, severed her right optic nerve, ricocheted around her skull, and exited back out her cheek area. She walked herself to the emergency room.
I honestly completely forgot about this till now, but that is actually like the perfect example for how this is possible. I mean, this woman literally walked herself 2 miles to the hospital.

It's entirely possible to survive a gunshot to the head. Highly depends on where the bullet enters but it's very possible.
@NerdySage Homie i gotta say, there have been many different channels that make reaction comps, but your vid's are honestly my favorite, most other channels don't bother to put in the work when editing them and just put all of the reactions in the same frame and play them all at once which is trash if you're trying to watch individual clips. this format is very much preferred and i at least appreciate the effort 👍

Rex durability is really really really high it’s in order for him to deal with his bombs if they ever explode in front of him or around him. That’s why the gunshot to his head may have hurt him but it didn’t kill him right away

For anyone wondering how this man survived a bullet to the head, in the comics it’s explained that Rex got his powers due to experimentation. He can not only charge things kinetically to explode them, but his skin was also altered so that it’s durable enough so that he doesn’t explode himself
Some people in the comments getting mad at Rex for still being alive after a shot to the head is kind of hilarious considering characters like Donald and Rick, who were basically rebuilt. I understand the frustration towards Rex still being able to get up and fight after being shot point blank in the head, but like c'mon, the lizard league as a whole sucks, and that especially goes for their leader.

There is actually an explanation for this. Rex's skin is actually more resilient thant the average human. He is a goverment experiment like Eve, they made him thougher so he could resist his own explotions

People be sleeping on Rex’s fortitude he’s always shown signs of being a bit stronger and more durable than his size or species suggests probably as a way to adapt to his ability

One of my favorite lines is when he gets up and says “I. CAN’T. BELIEVE. YOU. SHOT ME IN THE FUCKING HEAD!” While he’s just beating the shit out of him with bone of his missing fucking hand
One thing people don't know is Rex does have some super strength durability and endurance. Not nearly as much as a lot of the Guardians but hes not a normal human that can make things explode.
So many people think headshots are 100% fatal, which if they're anything but smaller caliber weapons they are, but a headshot from a pistol, that doesn't cross both hemispheres of the brain, is survivable.

As improbable as it is you can survive a shot to the head my father got shot in the head in his 20s two decades prior to having me and lived a happy life until he passed last February at 79. And my little brother was shot between the eyes during a car jacking. He managed to stumble into the E.R and died prior to surgery

(SPOILERS AHEAD) That episode was brutal, and a part of me is sad that NONE of the people being killed actually died. Kate kept a double out in the mountains and the rest of them just kind of, survived. I felt like Kate makes sense because keeping a clone out in the mountains is ACTUALLY something she can do, vs just kind of, getting lucky. Ant girl should have stayed swallowed, rex could have died but I feel like he actually adds to the show, so resurrecting Kate and rex while keeping ant girl swallowed would have been better. After the shock of the episode, seeing all three of them Kate it out felt a tad bit lame and plot armor esc.
They want to surpass Game of Thrones in killing characters. 😮
