48 minutes in and I haven't heard a thing about forensics! Just "watch for little things" and speakers life history... fail!

Watch JCS criminal psychology channel, he'll talk all about those details in interrogations which this guy claimed are secrets.

I wish he would've gotten to the point of what he was there to talk about. Twenty minutes in and he's still talking about his previous job experience. That's fine and all but I wasn't watching for a review of his work experience.

45 minutes into this lecture and I haven't heard anything useful about forensics.

Did you ever think that maybe the reason why women just know when their kid is off or lying or whatever is because women are generally more often relegated to the home and so she likely spends more time with the children and therefore knows their signs better than the parent that works out of them home. it's not because women are biologically more empathic 😂 look at a home with the roles reversed and I bet you you will find that the dad just knows and not the mom

That's interesting. But I would argue that because there are intrinsic neurological differences which make men more analytical and goal-oriented and women more people oriented, the difference between a SAHD an a SAHM are still noticeable. Let me know if you disagree.

Women are more sensitive in general and men aren't regardless of the home role

Lie detectors are better at detecting lies than people but there is a Receiver Operating Characteristic that must be looked at to fully understand lie detectors and their interpreters. Moreover the research on fMRI and lie detectors is questionable at best. Elena Rusconi writes "[fMRI] neither meets basic legal nor scientific standards...overall conclusion that fMRI is unlikely to constitute a viable lie detector for criminal courts." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3781577/

I wonder what career path is more stable: forensic computer work or forensic psychology? Or a 3rd, anthropology (as work for criminal investigation)... I'm kind of contemplating those. I've been told the computer field of forensics isn't a good work field, though.

Forensic Anthropology is my preferred choice because it combines elements from both fields.

It´s bullshit that 80% that our communication is non-verbal. It all comes down to an old missunderstanding of what a researcher namned Albert Mehrabian was saying. Look it upp Tim!
