  • Did you know the last version of QGIS has a lot of new features about LIDAR and point cloud processing? It also has a few bugs we will learn to workaround!
    Let's discover it together.
    +++ 🌍 What is QGIS?
    QGIS is a professional GIS application that is built on top of and proud to be itself Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

    Thank you for showing the failures as many content creators only show the success stories. My favorite content creators show the failures and their resolution steps. This gives a MUCH better education! This allows the learning people to recognize that it might not be them making errors. Thank you for the GREAT video!!!

    Hello,
    Thanks for the nice content! I have a question regarding native point cloud toolbox in the QGIS. I have windows machine and qgis 3.32.2-Lima version available. I am able to use pointcloud tool box. However I need to use QGIS and pointcloud toolbox in ubuntu for a reason. Unfortunately, I could not succeed to find pointcloud tool box in the 3.34.1-Prizren and
    3.28.13 version. I wonder if pointcloud toolbox is not available for ubuntu QGIS and it is just for windows? Thank you for your answer in advance! :)

    Hello, I have LiDAR data from a drone and I need to extract low-voltage power poles. How is this possible in QGIS? Do you know of any other open-source program where I can classify low-voltage network poles?

      There a few opensource tools for cloud classification. Do a search on github for point cloud classification.
      Anyway you will need to code rules or train a model.

    Hi There, I'm using QGIS 3.34 on a Mac Ventura 13.6.1 and trying to get qlidar to work but I have the following problem:
    Couldn't load plugin 'qLidar' due to an error when calling its classFactory() method
    ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'libCpp.libPyPointCloud3D'
    I'm wondering if anyone knows what's wrong as I have tried this on a few recent but earlier versions of QGIS and run into the same problem every time. I'm just using the GUI console 'Plugins' to try install and then load this. Thanks

      This is an issue due to missing native libraries. Are you on apple silicon?

      Yes an apple MacBook Pro, the operating system was noted above. Do you know what I have to do to rectify that?, thanks in advance.......@@talesfromthegis

      Anyway you should be able to use QGIS Lidar capabilities without needing qLidar plugin
