it made me feel much happier to watch a video that didn't work properly, first time.
I had this same problem. They wouldn't open properly in QGIS but they would open correctly in SAGA. So I just re-saved them with SAGA and they worked perfectly in QGIS!
what about other places around the world ?
As far as I can tell, as of 2024, this site no longer hosts the 3DEP dataset. Furthermore, they don't appear to let you download what little data they do have unless you have an account.
Do you know if this is available for Canada?

@@geospatialschool how about Algeria (North Africa) please? if no please from where I can find Lidar raw data to conduct my research about rooftop footprint in Algeria?
Seems like their download links are broken. I can't get any of the laz files 🙁
Check out the USGS lidar explorer. It was working yesterday
