I love this series. I love that you didn’t pretend you did it in like 3 days or a week. You were honest about it being a months long, collaborative project. Even the touch on the frustration of whether it’d ever be done and not doing the curtains and sconces yourself.
Very on brand and showing the playful relationship y’all have.
But do please share the rest of her apartment! It sounds like you worked on it together too.

Welll done. The bedspread and shades are 😘! Please consider spending a larger percentage of the time on discussions of changes/additions. E.g. the art, sources, the rug, color scheme (how/why things work together), the inspiration, etc. The paint selection process was very cool.

Came here to write this! I love the overall concept of the series but have a few thoughts! Would really love to learn your decision making over each of the steps, perhaps as a voice over or cut away to you at your desk to dissect the process or understand your rationalisation. Also these videos tend to be a bit hard to hear, just fyi!!

My favorite parts are the seating area and her accessory tour at the end. That floral bed linen really made it. I guess it's Paige's style to always do striped bedding so it was refreshing to see a new element. This all really maximized the most of a small bedroom. Great job.

Everything you did to her space is so great - quite a transformation! The artwork is very nice but not above the bed - I learned the hard way, when I lived in Tokyo, never to put heavy art (especially with glass) above a bed in an earthquake prone area.

Really loving your style. And this process feels so much more authentic to how we design and decorate our spaces than what we see in most makeover videos. Also - thank you for not going out and buying 'decor'. One of my pet peeves in the design space. Most of us have enough 'stuff' that we just need to learn how to style and make look beautiful And it's so much better when each piece has a story.

I also need to know the source of the Roman shades. They are so unique and beautiful.

Our bedroom is painted Benjamin Moore’s Beach Glass, which looks exactly like Basma’s room because it’s North and West facing - it’s not what I originally chose, there was a mixup with my husband about the color. At first I hated it, but then I started researching color theory in how to work WITH it (rather than try to hide it which would make it more obvious), and now I LOVE having that color in the bedroom, mixed with rust reds and ambers, ochre, walnut wood, burgundies, corals, and some black and green for good measure. We own but the wiring for the ceiling is wonky so we got a Tulip shade and it looks great.

The dresser is pretty but I feel like a low cabinet would have been better too if you want to put it between the windows because now it blocks light from two of the windows. Plus all the sharp corners you're walking into when you need to get around the bed to the far window, it's bad Feng shui. But otherwise beautiful room! Love all the colour combinations and pattern mixing in this one.

I remember when I lived in California, a friend told me not to hang any pictures over the bed that had glass or were heavy. The reason being that in the event of an earthquake, a heavy, glass object falling could be very dangerous. I took that advice to heart, and only had a lightweight, sort of paper mâché sculpture over the bed. If it fell on me, it wouldn't hurt. Plus, I loved the piece. (P.S. I love the cross necklace Basma gave you. Could you tell us the source for it?)

People keep commenting there is too much furniture for the size of the room and I disagree. I feel my room is a similar size and I commented a bit ago about wanting her to show how to maximize space in a bedroom like this if you share with roommates. I even mentioned a wall unit. When you have to make your bedroom function for a lot of things as your oasis, it makes sense to style like this. It actually makes the room more dynamic and functional. I guess if people just want tons of open space with no purpose fine. But she must feel luxurious having a seating area and a large furniture piece with closed and open storage. It all makes sense to me. She has zones that make it feel abundant and is not wasting space. I think people may be looking at this from a very American point of view, too. Look at how people live inside small spaces around the world. It isn’t always efficient to have tons of blank space. I still feel like this is airy and not cramped. The three of them fit in their comfortably and there still plenty of room. She also has great natural light which makes a huge difference.
