Thank you for explaining what you were doing and having some type of conversation! I get really tired of seeing videos ( I usually just turn them off) of people setting up camp, cutting wood, eating and going to sleep, all without saying a word! Again, thank you for making this interesting to watch!
Awesome.... Your new friends seem like real good people. He looks like he knows what he's doing. She seems nice good looking and smart. Awesome Jay thanks.
I just watched this video only because of "UpNothof60" mentioned yours, good to have Dave and Vivian have you as their visitor!! Great video!!! They sure do know how to cook, don't they!!
I agree with Dave that where he's there on the island it's a wonderful location. Tucked away there in the trees, secluded. That was really cool for Dave & Vivian to have you out, I'll bet it was kinda strange at first? Thanks for another fun adventure, take care Jay...
Jay bloody Awesome video with Dave and Vivian 👌 BUT you know what brother you've grown so much (OUTDOORS) over the years, that you're an inspiration to so many people outhere you won't even realise!!!! Awesome video you 3 👍👌✌🐾
How many years do I follow Dave and Vivian.. I'd say over 6 years but I think even longer than that.. I wished I could check it but my first account I lost and so I can't look up my hard-core channels and how long I've been watching but I can remember some road trips they did. But mostly I followed the tent video's and I absolutely love that you all finally got to see each other now! I believe that you talked about it awhile ago, for sure 2 years or even more back in the comments section I believe? I could be wrong 😶🤔 But what a unique place they too have! 😊
Hi Jay, it was cool seeing you hook up with Dave and Vivian. They are a nice couple, might be time to get your very own Vivian, lol. Thanks for sharing
They have a beautiful place, but Jay nothing beats how you fixed up your tent-cabin. No hard, bare ground floor. Thanks for taking us with you. PS: Don't say you don't have carpentry or construction skills, if you doubt what I say go back and read what I first said. You Sir, are not taking life by laying down, you are living it.
Greetings from Transylvania, Romania! Really enjoying your videos! And lately I've noticed that you're becoming a better videographer also. Although for youtube channels like yours and Dave's the most important is the content, a better video quality is a plus for sure :). I hope I will see soon a video with Vivian and Dave at your tent also :)
In the world of video games or TV shows this would have been known as a cross-over event. I gotta say though, you had the perfect opportunity to be an ambassador of Bowl O' Meat but admittedly, ribeye is certainly the more gracious offering.
Jay, I know you are from the big land, Labrador and I am certain Dave is also from the east coast (most likely the rock). Good to see that you can get together with Dave and Vivian and enjoy a great day at the camp.
Brrr...that distinctive sound of crunchy snow! I thought..Jay has a visitor..what happen to his tent floor! Great shots of their site, it’s like they’re in a nest surrounded by trees. What a meal, grilled food always tastes better when it’s cold outside Great video and take care 🇨🇦 ❤️
Jay, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I love the way you camp in your tent with that beautiful stove. I’ve been watching you for quite a while now. I’m sure I have missed a lot of your earlier videos, but I fully intend to go back and look at those videos. Also, I want you to know that whenever I watch a video I always give it a thumbs up. How it helps you I am not sure, but if nothing else it’ll let you know that I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Keep them coming Jay and I’ll continue to watch them. I thought it might be a good idea to add one of my own thumbs up for you Jay. I always wanted to do more than one thumbs up on videos that I particularly like and it took me this long to figure out how to do that. Ha ha! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. PS. I should also add that I am 77 years old, confined to a wheelchair and I’m terribly envious of you being able to do what you do. I only wish I had enough sense to do it when I was younger. I camped, but nothing like what you do. Stay well my friend, stay well. Oh for heavens sake! I just keep blathering on don’t I? I did want to mention something about UpNorthof60. Yes, they do know how to cook and I recall one meal that they cooked oh, maybe a year or so ago which was a boiled dinner using a smoked pork shoulder. I thought it was an ingenious idea where you can cut and prepare your vegetables all thrown into your pot and carried up to the tent site. Add your shoulder some water and boil it for a couple of hours and voila! A good hot delicious meal with very little effort. It didn’t hurt that it was one of my favorite meals. OK, thank this is finally take care Jay.
What a great place and two great people to share some time with in the cold. Not only beautiful scenery but it's nice to see there might be somewhat better ways to do some things from folks who have already figured it out. Cooking veggies in foil was my go-to back when I spent time in the outdoors. Old Bay was a favorite of mine as well. Throw some shrimp and a tiny bit of water in with the veggies and seasoning next time. Seal the foil tightly so everything steams up and prepare for a plate full of food heaven. Beans in a can, veggies in foil, and steak on a grate. It's amazing the quality of meals you can create over a camp fire. Even the pictures of it make one's mouth start to water. PS. Next time don't hold back on the Montreal seasoning. ;-)
I'm sitting here on a lazy Sunday morning in front of my fire and enjoying videos. This was a great video and very relaxing to watch. I want a bite of one of those ribeyes .. hahahaa, great video , most enjoyable
Beautiful site for their hot tent, it’s so picturesque and tucked into the trees so nicely. Love the music you used in the video really added to the relaxing feeling
Hi Jay, with all the coffee you drink you might just get yourself a camp percolater. I have one that I’ve been using for years. The coffee tastes much better than instant. It takes a bit longer but it can also be used as a water pitcher. 😉🤷🏼♀️
Was thinking the same thing, during the beauty shots. In a previous video, I was introduced to Martin Carlberg's "Don't be Late", was wondering what these tunes are.
Always good to spend a winter afternoon with good company, sure is a beauty spot. So what did you think about the Great-West Metal "Air-Tight Heater"? I've often wondered if they were stout enough, and how much smoke escaped during startup and feeding. Didn't know about the inner corrugated liner, also, may have to wander down to Home Hardware and look one over. I agree with you, you need a heat shield of some kind around your wood stove. Every time I hear you mention a "...screaming hot wood stove..." I anticipate watching a video about a burned down tent LOL. Glad that pallet wood is working out, am interested to see how it performs in deeper cold. Happy to see you back at camp & active on RUclips again.
Now how awesome is that, I've been up in my tent for about a week so back home checking up on all the missed videos. You two along with Joe ( J&Z Survival ) were my inspiration.
WOW! What a great video! I recently subscribed and am going to binge watch more of your videos on this cold -15 Celsius (to me) day. Thanks for the great content.
Can't believe how cold it is over there, we're getting record (warm) temperatures in Latvia (+10c). That's my sort of meal easy to make and tasty. Looks like you made some nice friends.
Hey Jay. I have the camp chef camping stove. I use it at my house (garage). I just bought a steel window well, using that as my heat shield. You can probably buy them used. I bought mine used for $15. Going to use two of them, one on-top of eachother. Hope that idea helps. Stay safe, & healthy
That’s balmy compared to the -40°C/-40°F I experienced one year up in Winnipeg. That was straight temperature without wind chill. I’d have to say it was close to -60°C with the wind chill. My breath was instantly freezing on my mustache/beard. Brutally cold.
@Dan McKay Ha! Very funny. I see your point, but that wasn’t my goal or intention. If it was strictly in jest, that’s cool. If not, that’s cool too. I was just sharing an experience I had in severe cold weather. I’m sure someone else can share a story that can top mine, and I’d be fine with it. Again, it wasn’t my goal or intention. I think most of the people following this channel are good people and they wouldn’t have taken it wrongly. Winnipeg has that reputation, as I’m sure many know. Many years ago, I was snowshoeing up in Wyoming where it gets very windy. The straight temp was about -15°F with a wind chill of around -50°F. Just another shared experience. It all relative, really. 👍🏻
Pretty funny , ive been watchin videos from three of you since couple years. My apologies , never subscribed, but now i did to both of you! I honestly enjoy every seconds of your videos(jay and upnorth) , spends hours and hours on youtube , thanks a lot for makin us live theses kind of moments of u enjoin your hobbies. The face i made when i realise jay you were at upnorthof60 tent, priceless. Thanks a lot again 🙏🙏🙏stay safe out there
Hey Jay glad to see you getting together with upnorth of 60, I watch there channel because of you. Love Northern Canada such beautiful country there is nothing quite like it. I’m going camping next weekend and was hoping for some cold weather being a Canadian boy living in the south, but the lows are only going to be in the mid 30’s F but I guess that’s what you get living in NC . Stay safe and looking forward to the next vid.
Nice video. I've been following Up North of 60's channel for a while. Now I'll have to follow your channel too. Real deal videos. I've been to the Yukon but not the NWT. Beautiful country up North.
Friend, AMAZING !!! I watched them for a long time. They stopped filming amd I found your channel. (Reminded me of yours). Then, saw this and it was unreal! Keep it up Jay !
Truly pioneers in what you're doing. Most feel like they are following in others footsteps, but not you fellas I think I'll use this video as backround music to my suicide, ty
Hey everyone. I hope you enjoy this video. Feel free to like and share! Thanks so much. Jay.
Wow imagine if about 80% of the world could get along like this..... that's what's up
Beautiful video Jay, Thanks again for spending the day out at our camp and we look forward to visiting yours as well. Stay safe out there!
Thanks Dave. Still so grateful you invited me. Until next time!
Great video Jay (Dave & Vivian too), and I have a new subscription to follow. Looking forward to catching up on UPNORTHOF60’s videos.

Definitely know how to cook!
You’re out with Dave and Vivian. Pretty damn cool. I watch both of your channels, from well south of 60!
Stay safe, keep it real, keep learning.
Thanks Eric!
When the snow is squeaky you know it’s COLD!
So glad growing up in Newfoundland years ago I learned all these skills although we didn’t realize it was a skill!
Wow! I am blown away with the cinematography on this video. This is by far your best work to date. I was thoroughly entertained. Thanks
Thanks so much Walt! I really appreciate it. It was a fun day and I really enjoyed the video process. Have a good night!
I agree with Dave that where he's there on the island it's a wonderful location. Tucked away there in the trees, secluded.

Jay... Living like Royalty in nature's beauty. Enjoying the outdoors. Excellent video

Glad you guys got together..two of the best tent channels in you tube
An old fire starting trick from joe at joe and Zach survival channel Jay? I like your trick with the dryer lint.✌️🥩
Beautiful video. Maybe someday I’ll muster up the nerve to do what you’re doing. Until then, I will live vicariously through you!
Hi Jay, it was cool seeing you hook up with Dave and Vivian. They are a nice couple, might be time to get your very own Vivian, lol. Thanks for sharing
That meal looked so good at the end.
Growing up in New York the only grass I saw as a kid was from the botanical gardens or the Bronx Zoo. I love your videos. A bronx guy.
So cool to see a different perspective of the upnorthof60 camp. Holy shit your quality is unbelievable! Great video man
Thanks so much. It was great to go out there and spend time with them. They are good people.

Hahaha. Good one.
Bitter cold alright. I can hear that crunchy snow.
Wow, I was just thinking about you the other day Jay, it won't be long till ure back at your tent.
Hey Dave. I went back last week. I posted a video!
So happy that you're shooting videos again. Something about your content.. Its inspiring. Makes me want to pursue a similar dream.
So awesome. Out there making videos meeting those that inspire you. So cool. As always thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mark
Content creator collaborations are the best. Tons of knowledge and tons of fun
Mmmm I love the North !! Thanks for the effort to film you adventure... When stuck in the concrete jungle videos like this are great for the soul.
My pleasure!
Jay, I know you are from the big land, Labrador and I am certain Dave is also from the east coast (most likely the rock). Good to see that you can get together with Dave and Vivian and enjoy a great day at the camp.
Thanks! And yep, Big Land for Life!

Another fun video, great scenery, delicious food. Thanks, Jay.
Beautiful site for their hot tent, it’s so picturesque and tucked into the trees so nicely. Love the music you used in the video really added to the relaxing feeling
Thanks so much for your comments! Jay
This was so nice to visit with someone you know. This is the first time I’ve seen them. Is your tent close to theirs? Awesome🙏🌹🦋🌹🙏
Nice 👍 you need a tin airtight stove like that Jay, yours is inadequate for heating such a large space.
Very Good Place For Bushcraft Camp.
Very nice, love winter camping and cooking!
Wouldn't mind being in Canada right now.
Hi Jay, with all the coffee you drink you might just get yourself a camp percolater. I have one that I’ve been using for years. The coffee tastes much better than instant. It takes a bit longer but it can also be used as a water pitcher. 😉🤷🏼♀️
I can't you guys did collaboration that's nice.
Outstanding cabin and stove, reflector!
Good stuff. Like to see two different styles of guys getting together and hanging out. I watch the two of you guys.
Really like the music you chose for this one, Jay!
Thank you so much.
Was thinking the same thing, during the beauty shots. In a previous video, I was introduced to Martin Carlberg's "Don't be Late", was wondering what these tunes are.
Three great people....glad to see you guys do this...
Oh, as a Marylander born and raised, Old Bay goes on everything.
Hey Jay I love watching you in these videos keep it coming 🤠
Beautiful trip

Awesome vid. Great Saturday morning surprise.

That moment of onion cutting ! Riveting !! 👌🏽
Haha kidding ! Great vids 🤙🏽

You can probably buy them used. I bought mine used for $15.
Going to use two of them, one on-top of eachother.
Hope that idea helps.
Stay safe, & healthy
I love your videos even though, just looking at them makes me feel cold, I can not imagine functioning in those temperatures.
The shinier the metal the better for a fireplace reflector. Infrared heat is light of a sort and thus best reflected by a shiny surface.
Cool!
Another great video, nice to see a visitor, been off grid for a week hunting, looked forward to catching up with some new videos
Can't wait to see more upgrades to your tent.
Great collab Jay. Can’t believe it’s that cold up there already!
Very beautiful indeed!
Really great video..thank you.And greetings from Finland🇫🇮

I just got so confused for a minute. I knew that i clicked on one of your videos but then pops up
Up North of 60.
Same here!!! Was surreal ! Glad Dave is back filming again.

I think I'll use this video as backround music to my suicide, ty
Jay when are you going to do something about that floor in the tent?
This video is so awesome! I follow both of your channels!
Hope you can do it again soon!😍 Thank you.
