      @@rockpaperchainsaw5274 I feel like remakes of older titles is required reading for when you wanna basically do a reboot of any kind. If the team loses the essence of the rebootee whats the point ya know.
      edit: not saying the team as in bethesda, just a good example to cite. I mean really for any reboot/modernization project it is wise to study the originals first, and theyre well on the way to a reboot for sure. Cant wait to see what a brand new modern Quake would be like

I hate that Halo, Battlefield, and Call of Duty games focus so much on 'deathmatch' then label it as 'coop' with only a small addon instead of campaign. One of the best Call of Duty was a 360 game, Call of Duty: World at War, me and my dad running through the whole campaign (except 1 level) together. What would be neat is if we got a continuation of the lovecraftian Quake or a reboot in that style, the Strogg stuff has had two games already and technically speaking they both had a semi similar chain of events as they both involved destroying or sabotaging strogg facilities, including a big gun, a hangar, a processing center, a waste center, a communications center and then killing the makron.
      Sure there has been a battlefield style quake with enemy territory but at this point idk what else they could do with the Strogg storyline without essentially just making quake 2 but different the third time around.
      Quake 1 only got one chance and hasn't been rebooted yet, and I feel like the Shambler could be a pretty terrifying thing if done right.
      Plus Shamblers had something to do with the Strogg so maybe there could be a mix of both

      Remastering Quake 3 sounds like a big leap imo. The problem with remastering multiplayer segments for games is the number of players are often low. And keeping servers up takes money so chances are that if it does get a remaster, the servers might lose support. The best bet might be to remaster the other games and build up more interest first.

    • @ArcaneAzmadi
      @ArcaneAzmadi Год назад

      The N64 version isn't actually _exactly_ the same, because it's running on the remastered Quake II engine (obviously, because it's included in Quake II), while the original Quake II 64 was actually an entirely original game (like Doom 64) made on the _Quake I_ engine, since there was simply no way the N64 could handle the Quake II engine. So the level design and enemy placement is faithful to the original, but since the engine is different it's not going to play exactly the same as you'll remember it. But it should still scratch your nostalgia itch.

And the railgun is orange not blue, bfg is blue not green. But I don't like the weapon swap sound. Sounds corny. Eh . . . And they could have had the option to clean some of the textures up . . . I still love it though played through it 5 times allready can't believe it's actually here don't gotta rely on that quake 2 64 maps mod which only used the first planet
