So for all the people who are saying grey and white are "out"...not if it's done right with warmth of the right shade of grey paint and the addition of amber and brass accessories to make it fresh and modern. Love this so much!
Absolutely, I'm doing it too
I think grey is a very nice neutral. As long as it’s not grey on grey on grey. Just like those ALL white kitchens. White is beautiful in a kitchen but not for everything in the kitchen. Too much
Majority doesn’t even have a good taste-so I wouldn’t even worry.
Why You think they are all here ?
I wish I knew what grey they were/are because the kitchen looks fabulous. I'm terrible at picking out paint colors.
so it is brown and white that are in now?
Dear Ms. Robeson it's rare to be taught design along with maintenance , cleaning and organisation ,which you so competently and imaginatively do. Thank you .
Her excellent interior design tips plus the way she taps her nails on things keeps me coming back
At first I was like, why this kitchen looks great already. But now I see the difference in the elegance. Because all throughout your house there is a sophisticated elegance, warmth, and inviting feel. And that is what you brought into the kitchen. Great job! I love it!
Always thank the people that have done work for you! Doesn’t matter if you paid them or not, it shows respect for their services. Your kitchen looks fresh and clean.
100% agree! My question to Rebecca would be : Don’t you appreciate it when your clients thank you in addition to paying you?
True True True!
You know she was joking, right?
@@yakiraheyman7307 hopefully she was joking because it comes across as entitled and disrespectful. Maybe if she smiled and laughed as she made the comment it would come across differently.
Absolutely 💯
Your lower cost, work with what you have videos, are becoming my favorite! Love what you did with the kitchen.
So did Rebecca say what the final cost was?
I was just wondering the same thing, she didn't tell us the cost I don't think.

The new (fake-you-outer) paint color with the tile looks great! (“If it doesn’t flow, it doesn’t go!”) I love how the color of the new bar stools coordinates with the window frame-and your living room. The tip on when to stop a paint color in a room was VERY helpful. Your new commissioned art by Liz Jardine is gorgeous! You lit it perfectly! Raising the ceiling height from your living room into your kitchen really made a huge difference! Oh, and the new sconces and desk lamp are on point-as always in Rebecca Robeson style! Thank you for another great video!
I can't even imagine painting the window white!!! It would have just faded away. Black?? Oh no!!! Would look like a sore thumb!! As it is, she now has a beautiful, unique accent area/wall. Love it!!
I cannot get enough of your amazing videos! I have always enjoyed getting up early in the morning to have coffee and read the newspaper but now it's all about you!! I will continue watching and soak up as much of your expertise as possible. Love the grays, taupes, caramels, charcoals and creamy whites!
Hi Barbara, what a nice thought… you sharing your morning routine with me. I’ll be thinking about you as I have my morning coffee today. Thanks for the kind words. 🙌🏻 RR
It looks beautiful. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation of how you arrived at your decisions. I am learning so much that I can apply to my own home.
Omg! I remember that painting above the barstools. I feel like all of your stuff is my stuff I can picture everywhere it was before lol!
That's impressive Mason :-) RR
Love these episodes. We all have design challenges and inherited bad choices but they are fixable without a full renovation. Love the kitchen, love what you did especially that dark grey wall with the artwork 🥰
I prefer a more colorful palette, but appreciate Rebecca’s aesthetic and expertise. She’s an amazing communicator!
I’ve been watching your videos for over 11 years now and am so grateful for you and your sweet spirit. I’m a designer in Arizona and have loved getting inspired by you. I have gone through so much lately and have been feeling discouraged. Today as I was reading my Word, I felt the need to come and watch one of your videos, (it’s been a long while), this is the one I landed on and the Lord totally used you to bring me heart and focus back to what He has called me to do. God bless you and your beautiful family. This mama and her eight babies love all that you do!
Girl. You are flipping amazing!! I absolutely love this kitchen!!! All the colors are gorgeous together. & Yess I found you thru your Christmas videos some years back and I just loveeeee your style and thought process about decorating but I think what I love the most, is YOU! Your personality is so charming and down to earth, I just love your videos!!
I am one of those people who is so glad that gray is going away BUT YOU did it beautifully! It’s warm and inviting and truly neutral but also impactful. Very few people do it right. Thanks for being my favorite decorator of all time. You never disappoint.
Startled my dog laughing out loud to your comment "I'll pray for you" with regard to under the kitchen sink cabinet..😆
You betcha - discovered you thru your Christmas videos - truly lifesaving to binge on all the videos during lockdown years. LIFE SAFER!!! We love you!
Amazing, as usual. Really like the counter stools…my choice, too. The colors are great, taken from your gorgeous painting. The house has come such a long way and is really glam yet cozy, all due to your amazing eye and honed skills. Doing my son’s new apartment in similar colors. Wish you were here to help! I learn so much from you, and from your lovely daughter, with every new video. Thank you both. Be happy. 😊
I just found your channel by watching your gorgeous Christmas decor videos, and I’m now hooked!! Reading the comments, I can see how your subscribers love you! I can see why, talented and fun to be around! Love this! ❤
I swear you are of my favorite RUclipsrs.. you are always so energetic and exude great energy. Please keep sharing these great insights through your videos!!
So much warmer looking in the kitchen now ! 👍🏻 glad you went with the slightly darker grey. Love it !
Adore! Your under hood moment… I honestly thought was intentionally the gold accents from the painting and bar stools! You will pick the best treatment but it looked great to my eye to be somewhere between the hardware color and the gold accent in the stools and art work. Love watching you. Always learn so much! ❤
Kitchen's lovely, gorgeous, fab! And in the near future is indeed Christmas design, where Rebecca is the Queen...can't wait!
Holy cow, the paint alone changed EVERYTHING!
Thank you so much for being inspirational and enthusiastic!
I learn so much from you, Rebecca! Love you and your daughter Sharrah.
I’ve got all the ideas from you when I remodeled my new condo!
You go girls! ❤
Thank you for explaining your design process on the different paint colors in the kitchen. I really like the sconces, too. I appreciate your gift of TEACHING design.
Oooooohhhh! That charcoal grey is perfect. Please share the color. And thank you so much for all the inspiration and education ❤
When I moved into my condo 10 yrs ago, I changed the dark tan/chocolate brown walls to neutral gray with a light blue accent on the lowered ceiling over my kitchen island (open plan unit). I didn't change the trim colour but now I found a colour that will work better with my birch kitchen cabinets (not changing those). I look forward to refreshing & finally getting rid of the dark tan.
Sounds like a good plan D 💪🏻 RR
Your my bundle of joy! I love love all you do!! You bring joy and love the renovations Christmas time. And so so fun! Thanks for sharing!!❤💜
Finally, I anxiously waited for this. What can I say but Great job, Rebecca. The three greys in the kitchen makes a whole lot of sense but I would have not thought about. Thanks and I look forward to your backyard makeover as everything you do. So, does that mean you will spend more time in the kitchen whipping up recipes maybe a cookbook, just asking? :-)
I'm in love with your mini-makeover! Thank you for making the journey and giving us the tutorial; your space is welcoming and charming. Blessings!
Love the new remodel , but there are two things : the windows frame color it needs different color , the wall clock . You need a modern sophisticated Clock . …… You did a beautiful amazing job👏👏♥️
You taught me so much so far and I appreciate every point you make. I started following with the Christmas trees then watched every video savoring every bit of your styling . I look and plan how to improve my home. THEN , how would Rebecca elevate this to her style ? I am getting better so keep pumping us full of “ elevated inspiration”. Thank you .
Your kitchen update is sleek and modern. It looks great. Thank you for sharing that you painted the sconces yourself to compliment your cabinet handles. The statement wall with the large art piece looks amazing! I enjoyed this video series, and I can’t wait to see how your pool area turns out!
Now that I see the picture and hardware, the barstool choice makes more sense. I love the choices you made, it looks modern yet warm. 👏🏽
Thats how I found you, many years ago...through your Christmas video's and here I still am. Love your home. I would hate leaving your neighborhood...its so warm and gorgeous.
Thanks Rebecca for this vlog. It was great and made me laugh in a few places which I needed! I love your channel and all of your advice and videos but have had a time away from watching due to family stuff. But as an Avid lover of Interior Design since I was in my teens till now in my lets say over 40's (but 31 again each year lol) I enjoy changing up my house in different seasons and always look to new design concepts, paint colours and trends. I will now go and watch more of your previous vlogs I have missed but am also looking forward to more of your vlogs and Especially CHRISTMAS!! Thanks again.
The art work is absolutely fabulous and completely pulls the room together.
It is always so enlightening to hear your rationale for your decisions. It is what catapults your work into the “exceptional” level!
Just discovered you and omg you’re my new favorite interior designer! I can’t wait to watch every video…love your style and witty sense of humor!
Another great video thanks for sharing. I'm surprised you didn't do your trick to extend the top of the kitchen cabinets to the ceiling 😉 that would completely elevate this kitchen. The next home owners are getting a beautiful home well done. I'm excited to see your new built home I'm here for the ride. Love ya in your voice. 😁
Regarding the electrical switch issue , there are readily available double switches that are vertical (We have a few in our house where there was just a single box but the stacked double switch enables you to have 2 switches) - They could have just used those (they come in a traditional toggle flip style or a modern paddle style ) - just a basic rewire switch change instead of boring into the counter for the disposal switch and all the switches would still be on one plate 🌸In the case of that double switch on that tiled area a person could have 4 switches instead of 2 or even 3 switches and one outlet depending on how far it is from the water source 🌸🌸🌸
She could have done a white window but quite frankly, from an elevated design point, the brown was the way to go and here’s why:
It adds warmth, texture, and yes let’s the window remain a focal point when it absolutely should in this case.
The colour also ties in with the trim around the rest of the house. When designing a space, you have to make sure it flows with the whole house. You have to look at it holistically.
She absolutely made the right choice leaving the window brown - it’s gorgeous. AND narural colours and textures are in. All white kitchens are OUT.
I love my white kitchen. Out or not, it speaks to me in breathless whispers.
At our old home, when we remodeled it, I wanted dimmer switches ( 3 ) for Over the Counter, Under the Counter and
can lighting and above the kitchen table, ceiling fan ( 4 different style of lighting ). That kitchen was my favorite .
I told my spouse where and what I wanted in that entire home. I gotten my inspiration, visiting thousands of newly homes,
throughout this region. Every Sunday we would go to Open Houses and get a lot of ideas.
Just like our basement in this home, it's no dungeon , it's an very nice lower level , I wanted can lighting on the ceiling ,
surround sound speakers for the lower level with music throughout. Along with bedroom , bathroom, kitchenette and
family room. If I ever had my dream home, it would be one expensive home. I have new ideas for it.
The wood over the stove is matching the toaster and the accessories on the left of the stove. This so beautiful.🙏🏾🥰
I love the art on the wall which smartly blends into the black table
I’m so excited to see what you did. I’m just about to remodel my kitchen. Love all your ideas and style🥰
Good luck 👍
So glad you went with the darker grey and brass handles.
WOW! Love Love Rebecca's channel. A truely great Designer who understands luxury without big expenses. Not only all her finished works look great, Rebecca herself always looks fabulously glamorous!
I am 75 and my back won’t get up off the floor anymore so I bought a large lazy Susan that has sides on it. It is holds all my under sink supplies and I can rotate it around until what I need is in front. I didn’t have height for stacked shelves. It works well.
Beautiful kitchen! I was wondering why you left the window stained. Why not paint it white to flow with the cabinets?
This is a lovely update and you are always very educational in how you make your choices Thank you! Question what was the actual final cost under 5000 for labor and materials?
Your kitchen looks beautiful. Lifting that wall was the best idea ever. It just opened up the area to see perfectly into the kitchen. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing your visions.
It's always a pleasure to watch your content. Your vision, your creativity, and how you pull things together for a beautiful result!
I’m from the uk I’ve been following you for quite some time and I’m in love love with everything you do I’m always looking to change things in my home and I think how would Rebecca do it , thank you for sharing your talent whatever you do is always jaw dropping , and another thing I must add I love your personality such fun to watch , thank you so much , I’m a massive fan xxx. All the best to you
Gray has always been depressing for me, yet I gave in and painted my living area a light gray as we are thinking about resale. Now I'm thinking that it is just a passing trend. I think as in fashion, that decor ideas are the same. I love your white cabinets and how you do your lighting. Fabulous!
You knocked it out of the park again. Beautiful!
I love it! Flow is absolutely on point as all ways! Rebecca, never disappoint.
You are still the QUEEN of Design in my book! WOW!
I love the sconces over the sink. I prefer, brightness from lighting in a kitchen and bathroom. I need to really see everything in those areas. LOL The basket next to the sink with the towels are they used to dry your hands. It's so cute. I started folding you many years ago because of your Christmas videos.
Loving the colours you used.. given me decor ideas in my next home.. thank you so much sharing your creative decor designs.. 🩷
Your kitchen looks amazing. Everything is put together so beautifully. I love all the warmth of all the colors you have chosen. Great job as usual!!!
Looooove it, beautiful sconces. Great colors and combinations, I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed. Great job.
Hi Rebecca! No question about it.....you did it again!!!!! Kitchen looks beautiful!!! Have a wonderful day!! Congratulations on the birth of your new Grandson Brody!!! He is beautiful!!!! :)
Thank you Linda. Brody is such a wonderful addition to our family 🥰 RR
Yes, yes, you are the queen of Christmas! Can’t wait💕
Ok. I just ordered the baggie and foil organizer. That was the last draw without an organized system! Thanks Rebecca!
Another great video. Good job! You need your own show on HGTV. It would be a huge hit!
I'm waiting to hear, because I love myself some Becky!
How did you do with the $5K budget?
Thank you for sharing your home with us. Also, thank you for the design lessons.
Wow I can't believe someone would say your into clown territory with your make-up.... I could never take the criticism people dish out, life is hard enough right now. Your make-up is beautiful just like your soul. Great video, my favorite is your desk lamp and barstools are gorgeous❤
Yes she always looks beautifully dressed and polished. Just stop watching instead of wasting time being evil messing with a woman of God who loves people and living her best life.
Kitchen looks great, I couldn't wait to see the finished project with the stools and also opening up header did make a difference! I love that your videos come out on Friday. You motivate me into action on the weekends ~ Thank you!
Beautiful! As always you pulled it off. Great job! Oh and I love your organizational slide in shelf and that drawer - OMG!! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful as usual!! One question….why not make the kitchen window “disappear” with white or gray trim instead?
I said the same thing. It wasn't met well.
Contrast.
I’m just wondering her decision from the design aspect. Trying to learn.
@@lyonfamily1931 I just feel like the kitchen is separated enough to paint the window trim in there while not looking funny against the rest of the house. Just my own opinion and it's not my house.
Absolutely gorgeous! The only thing I would’ve changed is the window or painted the frame the white/ cream color on your walls.
Love the paint colors of you kitchen! Could you please tell us the paint and colors?
Yes, please. I especially want to know color of accent wall
Amazing. Looks so beautiful. Yes I found you through Christmas videos but you are way beyond that and that's why I have continued to follow all your videos. Your advice is priceless. You're the best.
Absolutely love your accent wall with the painting and the fabulous bar stools. PERFECT!
That designer element… To me, it adds a richness to a space. It makes it complete. Raises it from a nice space to “oh, wow”.
The benefit to the outlet you added that you didn’t state…a place for plugging in electronic device. Have the kiddo playing a computer game or doing homework while the parent is working in the kitchen.
I’m loving your new look!! Your hair and makeup!!
Thank you so much! I'm currently planning a house renovation that we recently bought and the kitchen is the biggest headache. I agree with the colourscheme (black and white) and love the touches of grey. I think the chairs are a super colour for contrast and that was my concern .
I followed a video of you for " the extreme home makeover of a home and fell in love with the white cupboards and white tiles which was the bevelled subway tile. Can't see clearly if the tiles are white or light grey? Love the dimming lights.
I'm in South Africa but wish you were here!
I would love to have your thoughts on the TV wall which is quite large and had to convince my husband to have remove most of the wall unit cabinetry.
I chose the darker shade. It lends itself nicely with the darker wood trim. Looks great.
Rebecca the kitchen is gorgeous. Beautifully done. Enjoy watching you and learning. You are fabulous. Have a blessed day.
You just changed my life with the pull out under cabinet organizer!! 😍
-central Wisconsin: Nicely done!
I do have a question though. Why did you not paint the window trim above the sink, a charcoal black color to match the countertop? That brown trim color does not go with the kitchen color scheme. I may be wrong, but I don’t think your window trim color in the opposite living room area is brown either. I thought it was black, or a charcoal black.
I agree about the window, I’m sure Rebecca left it as is because all her windows are stained that color.
that color scheme is all me. I love it! Thanks for explaining the paint details.
I like the wood framed window. It makes a picture of the view outside.
I love you as an interior designer, but I also look to you how to act lovely, but professional at work❤️🥰.
Stunningly beautiful!!!! Love your kitchen...and the artwork is so perfect....yes I noticed that pumpkin matched your bar stool!!!
Rebecca, I’m obsessed with you. I love your style and wish you the best in life.
Love the black stone table top you added along with the big artwork !!! Good job as usual RR !💕
I was originally thinking that the dark wood moulding around the kitchen window was out of place, but after you raised that header, you could see the dark wood crown moulding in the other room. That made it tie in nicely.
Wow Rebecca, your kitchen looks fabulous! It follows perfectly in your family room!!!!!
Kitchen looks great! BTW, your tile backsplash is what we used for our own when we redid our kitchen. Adds wonderful texture.
Your kitchen is stunning!! I would have chosen bar stool #3 because I like to swivel too! However, the color and texture of the Amazon bar stools are perfect! So amazing about different paint colors in kitchen!! Can't wait for Christmas video after pool area! Love you 🙏
Simply gorgeous and an effortless look- why? Because it flows!. Beautiful.
I like the fact that u do budget friendly n remember us middle class ppl even tho u have the money to get expensive stuff. Thank u for that.
You are such a jazzy lady!!! Also, I love your hair cut!!!
This is #522 comment! How cool is it that you have so many people who love you! OK! I read most of the comments and several inquired about the paint colors. I am interested in what color and manufacturer your cabinets are. I'm trying to choose a color and my walls just got updated with Benjamin Moore's Tyler Grey. I love how you blended the colors for a magnificent effect!
