Vespi is a breaking ball pitcher and a strike thrower. I have watched him since 2022. He had tough year in 2024, but 22 and 23 were good. Great team player of character. When he is on, he induces soft contact and some swing and miss. Good pickup for the Phillies.

I really hope Hoffman doesn’t leave

I think they would’ve signed him already. The pitcher they just signed is basically a AAAA player so if we swapped Hoffman for this that’s gonna be disappointing

Here's a question in regards to Jeff Hoffman is he a pitcher that has reached his ceiling the last couple years and is just destined to regress back to who he was before he came to the Phillies? I'm not saying that's the case and I wouldn't know either, but I'm just wondering if that's kind of what Dave's thinking is on why he hasn't signed him yet because I would understand that. I wouldn't mind having him back, but I wouldn't want it to be for a long period of time.

I have no problem not briniging Hoffman back, I think he reached his top potential and will regress and has been terrible in the playoffs, which is all that really matters. Time to find other options
