Hi Jimmy, another kit that you could add is the high beam/ low beam relay from LMC truck allows both lights to be used in high beam mode. Makes things super bright and the road coverage is much improved. My vehicle by the way, 97 Tahoe, 160k and still going strong. Thanks for the videos.

Your old beams look alright. If you upgraded the stock halogens to like Osram Nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme Vision - you’d get an even more focused beam, more light and more spread (with a slight whiter light). The downside is that they won’t last as long as standard halogens. I can tell by that beam that you’re blinding the shit out of everyone at night by how intense that hot spot is. I can only imagine how much light scatter there is. Good luck driving with those in the rain LOL
Went for a ride today in my 1999 GMC k1500 Suburban. On the way home in the dark my wife kept asking me if I had my headlights on. I put new bulbs in about 4 years ago when I replaced the lamp housing because of yellowing. At that time I looked for LED bulbs but had no luck, or probably actually confusion. Jimmy, thanks for figuring out what LED replacement works. :-){

I installed Auxbeam Gold headlights on my car and I haven’t had any issues with getting flashed or anything. I can’t hear the fans with the car running. I think they are a good upgrade. My 9004 halogens were like candles.
Badass. Exactly what I was thinking for our 98 GMC. The light blue tint is also what I'm after. In Idaho the cities just don't believe in enough street lights. Pitch dark on many roads, gotta have good light. Also rec'd new headlight assembly from 1Aauto as the old ones yellowed & have a film on the surface resulting in poor light. Also learned from a Utube vid the easy headlight removal long bolts as seen here. Countless stories of even shops tearing down the entire grill assembly to get to the light bulbs.
I always wanted to do this with my 98, but never went along with it because alot of GMT400 owners say that the stock housings do not have a good beam pattern for the LEDs, as they are made for Halogens. This results in a blinding light and poor beam from the headlights. Alot of owners actually discourage this mod.
Put them in my 99 Tahoe and they are amazing .They FINALLY have a beam creating a sweet hot spot dead center of truck .Don't know how i ever got by with out them .

I have LEDs in my 94 and I see better with them. But I will be going back to regular bulbs cuz I’m always getting flashed, and the difference is not that big to keep getting flashed. I may go to a 4300k hid 35 watt first and see how that is.
They look awesome. Easier on battery, alternator, relays, sockets, and housings. Now- do high beams too. Please, Jimmy- also have them properly aligned; those can be blinding to oncoming traffic. Also- please take into account- weight in the rear, or towing- will change the aim.

Be sure to give us updates on these bulbs. Also, did the package say "for offroad use only"? I used some very similar LED headlight bulb replacements. They were great for a few months, then they started dimming/flashing/sometimes not working at all. In fact, they went out completely on a long road trip home during night time. It was horrible. Keep your old bulbs in the truck so you have them in case you need them, like I did. I would just not use them. If you want brighter or a more white headlight, get HID

Okay i have a 1999 Tahoe . Ordered lights from your link [ have no problem with you getting a percentage ] and fiddled around a bit to get them snug but once i did it was night a day . The difference was amazing and cant believe how bright everything is . If you center them right they have a nice hot spot dead center of truck not blinding others at all .Had them for a week or so and nobody flashed me yet .Also watched other videos where they were tearing the whole grill off [ lol ] so was helpful to finally know what those bolts do . I always thought they had something to do with beam placement .
Haha. Awesome! Yes, I've seen a ton of videos where people are changing bulbs and they rip the whole front grill off when all you have to do is remove these two bolts... Lol

I bought these for my 97 sierra and they were bright and I loved them. Only down fall is I couldn't use them. After installing in the lenses when placing back into bracket the vents on the bulb were hitting the bracket. Could not adjust lenses properly. Love the video though. I've watched all your videos on the 95 seeing what I can do with my Sierra.
LED's on a vehicle that was engineered to have them = OK. LED's added to a vehicle engineered to have halogen bulbs = EPIC FAIL. Don't take my word, search a bit and you will see why it's a fail.
Especially projectors will love LEDs, couple dudes in a Finnish Volvo forum tested some locally sold ones, and they found that they're less blinding than original halogens...
Awesome, I have the fans and I cant hear them ever. I have a flow master, and 2 12” subs. But even outside of the car, I think being inside the headlight housing defuses the sound enough. I get to brag that my headlights have turbos!
FiveFish Audio - Nope, they will not be a good upgrade for it. You are proud that you passed the smog check, however fitting with LED lamps will instantly fail you on all headlight tests. Plus you will blond every other poor driver who's around you... luckily that won't last long because the first cop car that sees you will solve the problem.
Something a lot of people don't understand about composite headlight housings like this, is that if you're upgrading to HID or LED lights, you really need to upgrade the housings to some that are made for those type of bulbs. Regular housings for a regular incandescent bulbs are made to disperse light differently than how an LED or HID does. Thus, when LED bulbs are put into a standard housing made for an incandescent bulb, they tend to put light everywhere but where it needs to be and blind people. Just an FYI.
WRONG! you need to stop spewing the local car forum BS. LEDs closely mimics the Halogen single filament. which has wider arc of light output. this is why its important to ORIENT THE LED FILAMENT to where it bounces the light to the reflective backing of the housing. HIDs you cannot orient...as its a gas filament style. its harder to focus the light output of the inert gas.its basically a controlled explosion..to put it in dummy term. hence why the lemmings in the car forums squeal about retrofitting Acura projectors to existing headlamps assemblies to be able to use HIDs so it has a clear and crisp cut off lines. How do i know all of this? well maybe being a GM engineer who designs headlights and safety systems warrants my knowledge?

I have a 99 gmc suburban, orig headlights you could not even tell were on in city.. 2 years ago i put in led's and love them.... now last week i got rear ended sitting at a red light and im pondering how i can improve the brake lights affordable so they are more visible
I have a pretty nice 99 gmc suburban. Your channel helps me out alot. I just put aftermarket halo lights on mine. Look great but lights suck. Cant see anything amd the corner lights dont fit properly. Changing bulbs today to see if it helps. I hope so i want to keep them. And ill also be using the seafoam cleaner too. Thanks
I have the ones with the Fan's, you can'tbarely hear them with the lights on in the engine off you have to literally put your ear to the headlight to hear them..I will say that was the best thing I ever did was put them in man is so nice when there's raining or snowing you can see the road so much better
If you ever want to make it look meaner or just have a different look you should get after market headlight casings I’m going to do blacked out with my 2004 suburban:))) along with some LED, RGB lights :))

Jimmy they came out great I have some on my 93 GMC truck now they make switch back lights they turn yellow or white I ordered some for the wife’s new cars fog lights.
These lights work awesome,but you have to grind a little of the metal on the core support ,and part of the plastic housing of the light assembly away from the low beam side. The high beam fits perfect,and yes they fit in the lights a little looser than the halogens. Not a problem. If you don’t mind a little customization to your core support, and light frame it won’t be a problem. Can’t believe he got those low beams in with no issues! If you don’t grind some of the material away your low beams aim up really bad. Haven’t had them in long enough to tell you how long they last. I literally just installed them
I will never use LED for lowbeams. They tend to blind oncoming drivers because of lack of a focused beam. LED high beams is something that I would consider though. 😀
Your truck looks BadAss with those leds. I couldn't get leds in my Sonata till just recently cause Techmax and Cougar Motor finally came out with mini wireless led bulbs. My Sonata has projector style headlights so the beam has a pretty even spread.
Im happy for you, happy that you like the results but having said that i need to also say this...... I f#####g hate, absolutely hate getting blinded by inconsiderate drivers with these LED lights. Not everyone on the road is between 17 & 25 years young where there eyes adjust in a 10th of a second after being blinded and its bo big deal, but someone like me who is much older looses sight for many , many seconds after being blasted by these kinds of lights and therefore putting me and any passengers with me in serious danger! I really wish people would consider other drivers safty FIRST over adding aftermarket crap to there vehicles just so they are looking cool, hey, but thats Just me.
Also most people do not adjust the height of their lights after install. Led are not just replace and go. Need to aim correctly with driver side just a bit lower than passenger side.

After watching your video, I bought these exact Auxbeam LEDs for my 1995 GMC Suburban K2500. My headlights are not original, but are OEM from a GMC dealership. In order to fit the Auxbeams (heat sink was too tall), I had to shave off quite a bit of plastic from the black bracket that supports the headlights on the chassis. How did you install your Auxbeams? You mention no fitment difficulties in your video.
Have you thought about the reflector? I changed my standard H4 bulb with a 30 watt led but the problem is the reflector is not optimised for the lightsource. It is designed for a very specific punctual lightsource which is the filament at a precise spot.
I just hope you got around to adjusting them correctly so that you don't blind other drivers coming towards you or when you are driving behind someone else. In this video, your passenger beam is too far left and both beams are too high!! Very nice job and Best Regards.
See 9.15 min which shows original lights, the whole area is bright. You can see when a passenger or a dog suddenly try to cross the road. And see the beam. It goes much far than LED. See 9.20 of the new one. The road which few feets away from the car is so bright and that's it. No far-reaching beam and left and right corners of the road are darker. Unless you have installed it incorrectly I think the old one has much better invisibility and good for your eyes.

I hope you can answer this question asap. I have to White 95 gmc Sierra 1500 extend cab. My front end looks exactly like your gmc. I clicked on the Amazon link you have an seen the bulbs, but they didn't show any wiring hanging out of the bulb. The pair was like $37 dollars on in that ballpark price range. Which is responsible. My question is do I have to buy a wiring adapter kit to plug into my stock female wiring plug, or does the $37 dollar kit come with a wiring harness that I can just plug directly into where I pulled my stock bulb from. I noticed on eBay they sell led headlight bulbs be for my truck, but they never showed the wiring harness. One Seller on eBay is selling a led conversation kit for like $200 dollars. I can't afford that. Do these bulbs come plug and play, direct plug into stock harness, or do I need to by a harness adapter to use these $37 dollar bulbs on my 95 gmc Sierra? Also will these exact bulbs work as high beams too? Or do I need to by a different number or code for high beams bulbs? If so can you please tell me what the number code is. I just got the truck this summer and have never had to change the bulbs before. So please excuse my ignorance on the subject. I'm trying to learn. That's why I coming to you for advice. All of my previous vehicles I've ever owned all had high and low beams in the same bulb. Also I love your channel. I've been a subscriber for several months. You're awesome dude.
I installed sylvania silverstar ultras (the brightest halogen bulbs available for my car) in my kia forte. Hope the led lights that I bought as a replacement work in it because my car has reflector housings instead of the new projector housings.

Show me the DOT Approved These are bright! too bright for on coming traffic. I put in LED replacements and 50% of oncoming traffic flash me to let me know its too bright.
@@fish4fun354 - NO, they are not designed to be put in "projector housings". They need to be installed into a reflector housing that is designed for the particular LED lamp. None of the LED retrofit bulbs comply with the international standards for halogen bulbs like H1, H3, H4, etc.
If you rewire headlight to only use the stock wires as signal to relay and power is direct from battery, you get better lights and less current trough the switch

I can’t find the auxbeam 9006 4000 lumens anywhere on Amazon and your link is broken. Can you give any updated guidance in 2024? The new ones by auxbeam are 48000, 40000, and 10000 lumens. Sounds ridiculous and your 4000 seem more appealing. Also the new ones all have “silent fans” by auxbeam. Any advice you can give ?
Are these Low Beam Only or can I get High Beams as well? I have the same truck (almost) with the same type of headlights, mine is 1996 GMC K2500, 7.4 Liter (454) Gas.
@@TopiasSalakka - "brightness" is the equivalent of GLARE to other road users. You cannot judge the quality of illumination by looking towards the headlight - you must view the result and compare how well the road is illuminated. In all cases, the illumination quality and levels will be compromised if you retrofit halogen headlights with LED lamps. In other words, the LEDs do NOT work better.
The old lights also projected a bit more light to the sides, which is important to see things approaching from the sides, like deer. The LED have a brighter hot spot, which is what so many people focus on, this also helps to blind oncoming traffic so they flash you.
I brought some and made my vision worse. It's has daylight and makes it harder to see in city driving. The yellow tint actually helped me. I'm taking mine back out and putting in regular lights....Nice video, but the lights didn't help me.
So,... Kenny Loggins is showing me how to install LED headlights in a Chevrolet. Have a 1979 Ford F-100, first year for rectangular headlights, but every website shows the truck with round headlights.
I can't wait till I get my ice blue led headlights installed on my 98 suburban. Because she is also getting the headlight lenses replaced with the led halos and clear side lenses and led amber marker turn signals lenses. Got my blue led headlights for 28.61 on ebay. Euro clear headlights with the halos and led signals for 196.10 side clear lenses for 23.04 then I also got the clear lens chrome 3d U halo led tail brake light assembly for 133.44 all on ebay

Looks great. Added them to my 07 classic, I adjusted mine down some as not to blind incoming traffic. People stopped flashing there lights at me.

@@matt9c1 Lot of LEDs are made to emulate halogens as close as possible. If you get quality LEDs and aim them right, nobody should get blinded.

Awesome, I have the fans and I cant hear them ever. I have a flow master, and 2 12” subs. But even outside of the car, I think being inside the headlight housing defuses the sound enough. I get to brag that my headlights have turbos!
We have a 99 Suburban with 360,000+ miles. Just passed the recent smog check a month ago. These lights will be a good upgrade to it.
FiveFish Audio - Nope, they will not be a good upgrade for it. You are proud that you passed the smog check, however fitting with LED lamps will instantly fail you on all headlight tests. Plus you will blond every other poor driver who's around you... luckily that won't last long because the first cop car that sees you will solve the problem.

Something a lot of people don't understand about composite headlight housings like this, is that if you're upgrading to HID or LED lights, you really need to upgrade the housings to some that are made for those type of bulbs. Regular housings for a regular incandescent bulbs are made to disperse light differently than how an LED or HID does. Thus, when LED bulbs are put into a standard housing made for an incandescent bulb, they tend to put light everywhere but where it needs to be and blind people. Just an FYI.
WRONG! you need to stop spewing the local car forum BS. LEDs closely mimics the Halogen single filament. which has wider arc of light output. this is why its important to ORIENT THE LED FILAMENT to where it bounces the light to the reflective backing of the housing. HIDs you cannot orient...as its a gas filament style. its harder to focus the light output of the inert gas.its basically a controlled explosion..to put it in dummy term. hence why the lemmings in the car forums squeal about retrofitting Acura projectors to existing headlamps assemblies to be able to use HIDs so it has a clear and crisp cut off lines. How do i know all of this? well maybe being a GM engineer who designs headlights and safety systems warrants my knowledge?

@@anonymousinc6330 have you ever looked into the newer headlamp assemblies going down the road? a lot of the car manufacturers has converted to LED with just a few design changes in the headlamp assemblies. one of the refraction and clear lens! thats it. there is no special "voodoo magic and super complicated engineering" that is involved. simple design and aesthetic changes! its going to be bright. my suggestion as it was brought up in one of our meetings .... A standard incandescent halogen bulb housing is designed to scatter the light, which is not ideal for the focused beam of an LED or HID. second when i say design changes. it was purely AESTHETICS! simple changes meaning manufacturing streamlining (re-tooling) and using a different chemistry in the headlight plastic molding to help prevent the dreaded yellowing of the housing.

I have a 99 gmc suburban, orig headlights you could not even tell were on in city.. 2 years ago i put in led's and love them.... now last week i got rear ended sitting at a red light and im pondering how i can improve the brake lights affordable so they are more visible
I have a pretty nice 99 gmc suburban. Your channel helps me out alot. I just put aftermarket halo lights on mine. Look great but lights suck. Cant see anything amd the corner lights dont fit properly. Changing bulbs today to see if it helps. I hope so i want to keep them. And ill also be using the seafoam cleaner too. Thanks

I have the ones with the Fan's, you can'tbarely hear them with the lights on in the engine off you have to literally put your ear to the headlight to hear them..I will say that was the best thing I ever did was put them in man is so nice when there's raining or snowing you can see the road so much better
If you ever want to make it look meaner or just have a different look you should get after market headlight casings I’m going to do blacked out with my 2004 suburban:))) along with some LED, RGB lights :))

Jimmy they came out great I have some on my 93 GMC truck now they make switch back lights they turn yellow or white I ordered some for the wife’s new cars fog lights.
These lights work awesome,but you have to grind a little of the metal on the core support ,and part of the plastic housing of the light assembly away from the low beam side. The high beam fits perfect,and yes they fit in the lights a little looser than the halogens. Not a problem. If you don’t mind a little customization to your core support, and light frame it won’t be a problem. Can’t believe he got those low beams in with no issues! If you don’t grind some of the material away your low beams aim up really bad. Haven’t had them in long enough to tell you how long they last. I literally just installed them

I will never use LED for lowbeams. They tend to blind oncoming drivers because of lack of a focused beam.
LED high beams is something that I would consider though. 😀

Which is funny, because some newer vehicles have LED low beams and standard (halogen) high beams (Ford Explorer as an example)

Your truck looks BadAss with those leds. I couldn't get leds in my Sonata till just recently cause Techmax and Cougar Motor finally came out with mini wireless led bulbs. My Sonata has projector style headlights so the beam has a pretty even spread.

I f#####g hate, absolutely hate getting blinded by inconsiderate drivers with these LED lights. Not everyone on the road is between 17 & 25 years young where there eyes adjust in a 10th of a second after being blinded and its bo big deal, but someone like me who is much older looses sight for many , many seconds after being blasted by these kinds of lights and therefore putting me and any passengers with me in serious danger! I really wish people would consider other drivers safty FIRST over adding aftermarket crap to there vehicles just so they are looking cool, hey, but thats Just me.
you are most likely referring to HID systems. LEDs closely mimics halogens in focusing points
Also most people do not adjust the height of their lights after install. Led are not just replace and go. Need to aim correctly with driver side just a bit lower than passenger side.

After watching your video, I bought these exact Auxbeam LEDs for my 1995 GMC Suburban K2500. My headlights are not original, but are OEM from a GMC dealership. In order to fit the Auxbeams (heat sink was too tall), I had to shave off quite a bit of plastic from the black bracket that supports the headlights on the chassis. How did you install your Auxbeams? You mention no fitment difficulties in your video.

Have you thought about the reflector? I changed my standard H4 bulb with a 30 watt led but the problem is the reflector is not optimised for the lightsource. It is designed for a very specific punctual lightsource which is the filament at a precise spot.
I just hope you got around to adjusting them correctly so that you don't blind other drivers coming towards you or when you are driving behind someone else. In this video, your passenger beam is too far left and both beams are too high!!

See 9.15 min which shows original lights, the whole area is bright. You can see when a passenger or a dog suddenly try to cross the road. And see the beam. It goes much far than LED. See 9.20 of the new one. The road which few feets away from the car is so bright and that's it. No far-reaching beam and left and right corners of the road are darker. Unless you have installed it incorrectly I think the old one has much better invisibility and good for your eyes.
It's probably more of an aim thing... It looks like the LEDs were aimed down more versus the original bulbs

I hope you can answer this question asap. I have to White 95 gmc Sierra 1500 extend cab. My front end looks exactly like your gmc. I clicked on the Amazon link you have an seen the bulbs, but they didn't show any wiring hanging out of the bulb. The pair was like $37 dollars on in that ballpark price range. Which is responsible. My question is do I have to buy a wiring adapter kit to plug into my stock female wiring plug, or does the $37 dollar kit come with a wiring harness that I can just plug directly into where I pulled my stock bulb from. I noticed on eBay they sell led headlight bulbs be for my truck, but they never showed the wiring harness. One Seller on eBay is selling a led conversation kit for like $200 dollars. I can't afford that. Do these bulbs come plug and play, direct plug into stock harness, or do I need to by a harness adapter to use these $37 dollar bulbs on my 95 gmc Sierra? Also will these exact bulbs work as high beams too? Or do I need to by a different number or code for high beams bulbs? If so can you please tell me what the number code is. I just got the truck this summer and have never had to change the bulbs before. So please excuse my ignorance on the subject. I'm trying to learn. That's why I coming to you for advice. All of my previous vehicles I've ever owned all had high and low beams in the same bulb. Also I love your channel. I've been a subscriber for several months. You're awesome dude.
For more light output with the LED's, look into come light assemblies with clear lenses, not the fluted ones like OEM

I installed sylvania silverstar ultras (the brightest halogen bulbs available for my car) in my kia forte. Hope the led lights that I bought as a replacement work in it because my car has reflector housings instead of the new projector housings.

You need to pull out day time running light fuse .They run a different ballast making them flicker .

They are not legal.
@@fish4fun354 - NO, they are not designed to be put in "projector housings". They need to be installed into a reflector housing that is designed for the particular LED lamp. None of the LED retrofit bulbs comply with the international standards for halogen bulbs like H1, H3, H4, etc.

I like that suburban. I need to buy different headlight housings because how yellow they are on my 90 Silverado. They make a ton of aftermarket ones.
If you rewire headlight to only use the stock wires as signal to relay and power is direct from battery, you get better lights and less current trough the switch

I can’t find the auxbeam 9006 4000 lumens anywhere on Amazon and your link is broken. Can you give any updated guidance in 2024? The new ones by auxbeam are 48000, 40000, and 10000 lumens. Sounds ridiculous and your 4000 seem more appealing. Also the new ones all have “silent fans” by auxbeam. Any advice you can give ?
Are these Low Beam Only or can I get High Beams as well? I have the same truck (almost) with the same type of headlights, mine is 1996 GMC K2500, 7.4 Liter (454) Gas.

Old bulbs look like they shined further at the end comparison photo.
Halogens usually have a further reaching light beam, but LEDs are almost always brighter.
@@TopiasSalakka - "brightness" is the equivalent of GLARE to other road users.
You cannot judge the quality of illumination by looking towards the headlight - you must view the result and compare how well the road is illuminated.
In all cases, the illumination quality and levels will be compromised if you retrofit halogen headlights with LED lamps. In other words, the LEDs do NOT work better.

The old lights also projected a bit more light to the sides, which is important to see things approaching from the sides, like deer. The LED have a brighter hot spot, which is what so many people focus on, this also helps to blind oncoming traffic so they flash you.

I brought some and made my vision worse. It's has daylight and makes it harder to see in city driving. The yellow tint actually helped me. I'm taking mine back out and putting in regular lights....Nice video, but the lights didn't help me.
So,... Kenny Loggins is showing me how to install LED headlights in a Chevrolet. Have a 1979 Ford F-100, first year for rectangular headlights, but every website shows the truck with round headlights.

Because she is also getting the headlight lenses replaced with the led halos and clear side lenses and led amber marker turn signals lenses. Got my blue led headlights for 28.61 on ebay. Euro clear headlights with the halos and led signals for 196.10 side clear lenses for 23.04 then I also got the clear lens chrome 3d U halo led tail brake light assembly for 133.44 all on ebay

Yes, both sides of the system have 3 LED's on them, they must face sideways to hit the reflectors inside the housing.
