Yeah I actually didn't realise there was such a big difference till I made this video. I always though collection events were the cheaper ways to get heirlooms/artifacts. After my analysis in this video I see that's only really true if you're using crafting metals.

you'll need to get the 2 110 exotic shard bundles plus 20 extra. so about $160ish
