Scott, I noticed in the first slo-mo that the bolt handle lifted and then went back down during the recoil! Probably due to the torsion recoil. If that opens too far, you might get an unpleasant surprise. I would submit this footage to the manufacturer! Kind regards from New Zealand.

I've never seen you get tossed around before so I KNOW that thing has some recoil. the .577 was literally made to be the most powerful shoulder fired "portable" rifle ever built. They just grabbed a 577 nitro cartridge and said "why is this so small?". They then proceeded to add powder behind it until it was barely fire-able. and you still handled it like a champ!

There was one guy in the video Scott refers to who was definitely a professional, because he handled with ease the same rifle that had been knocking the crap out of all the other guys.
He just stood there with a wide stance and allowed his entire body to rock backward to better spread the punch over a wider surface area.
People who know how to handle heavy caliber dangerous game rifles stand with one foot well forward of the other and basically turn their entire bodies into a big rocking chair to absorb the recoil.

I have been watching firearms content online as long as the internet has had it. The videos that you are describing from the past were from a website called Asccurate Reloading, if I'm not mistaken. They had mostly foreign guys standing up straight, shooting that rifle, and then falling over backwards. Sometimes the rifle itself would just go flying out of their hands. I didn't know that those guns were so rare.
