Is it possible if Aaron can put the drone up and give us all an aerial view of the whole property it really would be so lovely to be able to see your dream coming to life and how much further you have gone thank you in advance
I was thinking the same thing. They haven’t done that in awhile. I was also wondering if she has an actual plan she’s drawn up and working from. It would be nice to see that too. ❤️
Yep! I feel like the last shot like that, the orchard trees didn’t have leaves.
@@Steinru73 Hey Rhonda, are you from Indiana?
I was just getting on to comment the same thing! 👍🏻. Would love to see how it’s all coming together from above!
I LOVE Aaron’s drone footage, he’s really good at i!
Your program introduced me to using an auger to dig plant hole. Best advice ever.
What kind did you get? the one like they use looks really expensive and it might be Overkill. But that's amazing how it made quick work of those holes.
Would not work well in our Rocky clay Pennsylvania soil!
@@donnakumpf8992 I have that Georgia red clay so probably the same LOL
@@donnakumpf8992 Or my upstate NY pure clay soil
Can this drill and auger be purchased as a set? Where?
Good evening everyone from Australia! It’s 9.03 pm!
Hi Donna, I’m on the Central coast ,it’s so nice to have a break from COVID news , hope your ok 👍

I just moved into a house that had six of these grasses and I dug them all out , they're too tall and don't impress me at all. I put them out at the front of my home for free and I had people slamming on their brakes to pick them up. I'm happy that someone else was happy putting these in their landscape.
Yep! Really ugly in the wrong spot! I’ve done the same. They look great in their big space.
Never met an ornamental grass I didn't like! Those are amazing.
I love grasses too but for me it’s miscanthus that i can’t stand, they’re so aggressive that they’ve become an invasive species! Thankfully I was able to remove mine after a couple summers of hard work
... I just discovered Big Bluestem! It is gorgeous! Upright narrow habit, sturdy stout stems...hardy! Love it!

@@naturegirl7777 I'm zone 2b so my choices are few. Planted Karl Foresters 5 years ago, so this year with a drought + my neglect they are the best they've ever been. Rabbits and deer don't eat them so how can I lose?
Agree😊...at first glance they resemble lemongrass... What a great variety of grasses we can enjoy...there's thousands of varieties. We've not even begun to scratch the surface of what we are familiar with. Can never get bored. Amazing 😀
Aaron seeded the other day/last week.
Excuse me!!?? Is that grass I see out there?!?!??
It’s all coming together!!! Congratulations guys!!!
I saw some green lawn starting too! Very excited
So cool to see their dream coming alive!
The grass is along their driveway. They planted it last year.

that's what I'm about to say. I am super excited for you guys!!!
I've been up with my baby since 5 and I made my coffee and was waiting to drink it until the latest Garden Answer video was up! Lol
Wow…that’s dedication! I don’t think I could wait a whole hour for my coffee!
I don't think I could have waited that long for my coffee.

Good morning! 🌻🐝
Good morning everyone!
In Norway where I live where the weather is much the same we never cut down grasses in autumn. It is a big no no. Beacuse water can settle in it's hollow stems and rot the plant from within.
...yep, wait 'til spring to tidy up! ...
=^..^=
👩🌾💚🙏
I wait till spring in NY also.
It’s also cover for wildlife, and winter interest. We get more (and heavier) snow in the Midwest than they do, and grasses look great until Feb-March, most years.
@@GardenKath ... Exactly!... That's another perk for something that could appear to others to be so bland and blase!. It's an excellent haven for praying mantis egg cases or overwintering butterfly chrysalis es! 👩🌾💚🙏🦋 =^..^=
I love grasses blowing in the wind!
Love to watch grasses swaying in the wind!
A few huge groupings of Russian sage would look very good👍🏻

Nice!! 🙌
That was fun Laura I spotted some grass starting that’s exciting
I actually have 6 of these tall grasses in my backyard planted in a row to block out n soften the neighbor's cement retaining wall...their in their 5th year n r maintenance free...i just cut mine back to 9inches at the start of spring n they flush back gloriously...i leave em up all winter to help soften the cement retaining wall...their very tough plants...put them in clay soil just like Laura n Aaron...never lost one...they can take the heat n r a great living green privacy screen...i totally reccomend n endorse this plant...Easy Peasy...😉🌾👍
In fact i should mention that all 6 grasses were very rootbound in their gallon containers n half dead n half alive...so the business wer i bot them marked them half price at the end of the growing summer season...planted them at the start of fall...ther beautiful n elegant blowing in the wind n make that wonderful grassy sound thats pleasing to listen to too....😉🌾👍
Good morning GARDEN ANSWER...Ontario Canada 🇨🇦💜
Good morning to all from Guelph Ontario Canada 🇨🇦❣️
Good morning from south Ga, zone 8b, where we have had 15.4” of rain this month. Yes, I write it down on my calendar, it’s something you do in retirement.
😉
I like how the grasses add some soft texture to your landscape. It’s been fun watching this design process come together!
what isnt fun is when these grasses escape our homes and become invasive, causing damage, high expense to control, herbicides having to be used and destruction of native plant and animal species.
It wasn’t the stance Laura, it was the plaid shirt!! I realized when I was little that plaid makes men strong like my dad (he wore plaid flannels and was a super hero!) That’s where Aaron get his super ability to use the auger! 🤣🤣
😊
“Switch me Aaron” - don’t know why but when she said that , it tugged my heart strings ❤️
Mine too !!❤️
Same. For me I love to see a couple working together as a team
They do compliment each other so well!
Thank you for the closed captions!! 🤗🌾🌿🙏
Those grasses are so pretty. I really wish I had more room in my garden for some.
Lately I’ve been watching twice, once to watch Laura and then again to see what’s gong on in the surrounding areas💚🙃
@ Judy McKerrow.,...😄😄😄and I thought I was the only one. Sometimes 3x 🤗.I have all the time in the world now that I'm retired,to spend on watching Laura.❤️🙏✌️
These grasses give a totally different look. They soften the area so.e. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to next planting project.
Just placed a bid on a homestead with 5 acres!
Waiting to put that first TREE, FLOWER AND SHRUB in!

Love the grasses 😍 and wood chips are a gardener's BFF I had 5 loads dropped off on our property a few months ago. Saves on money water and your back... Not very much weeding with wood chips down lol if they do pop up they pull out with ease.
Did anyone else laugh out loud when Laura said "I might stake these"?? lol. Bless her heart 😂🤣 I would imagine that her huge Miscanthus is still waiting to be staked lol.
Oh I know when I was young I was full of energy and strength too. I so admire her dedication and her enthusiasm!
The grasses are so gorgeous! Nice to have some texture to contrast with the trees!! And I spied the grass growing!! 😁
Those are amazing. I have been looking to get some grasses like those for my garden. Glad they are for zone 4. Yay!💗
@@kentaylor3319 doing great
@@kentaylor3319 why?
My favorite comment of Laura's, (possibly of all time), "it looks like we're planting them in little clay coffins!" I plant in clay as well and that's the perfect analogy!
Good Morning !!! Love the grasses. Soon you will vision the correct plants to add to the grasses.
"I might stake mine." Wondering if those plants by the house have ever been staked yet . . . . 🤔😄
LOL I was thinking the same thing!
Good morning from Missouri. Happy to start my day with Laura and my friends who love Laura.
Good morning from Michigan 😊
I spy lawn in the background!!! Can’t wait to see lush green lawn and I bet you’re all eager to reduce the dust too 💚
I’m glad you said something because I missed it completely. I’ve been dying to see some grass growing out there! It looks so good.
It would be lovely to setup an artificial stream of water next to those grasses. Maybe something in the future. When its all filled in. That to me sound like a lot of work and a lot of fun!
Drone footage of the outer loop, please, so we can see the big picture in process.
The gentle swaying of the tall grass is relaxing 😌
Grasses are so beautiful and easy. Great addition! Grass hedge would be amazing too!
Beautiful grasses! Love where you placed them! Hopefully they will take off & perform!! 😍🥰🌾💚🌿
That was fantastic. I love the idea of just using grasses to make an impact. Love it. Thank you so very much for sharing.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I love watching every morning with my breakfast. Grasses are beautiful. It's been so fun to watch your property progress.
The ornamental grasses are stunning, but is that fresh green grass/lawn I can see in the background at 7:09? We definitely need an update please Aaron!
I agree!
That grass came up in no time!
I saw that too!
I noticed it too! Was thinking for a sec wait where is she? Then realized it’s the new grass coming up!
Yes the new grass coming up was the 1st thing I noticed along with the sprinkler's going off. Looks like germination was a success! Love, love the panicum grasses, glad the are bright green. Hope the "clay coffins" are gentle with them although we all know how strong those grass roots are!
I would be so overwhelmed planting up such a large space. Worried to commit plants where I later decide is not the right spot. I admire your ability to just get things in the ground!
I have learned that if you don't like something then just dig it up and move it. I move some plants almost every year. Just hard to do that with trees
I agree 100%. I can't even figure out what I want in front of my house
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos I look forward to them every day you are my inspiration!!!
Just saw that Jenny from Creekside used a new power planter drill with straight handles. I think it would be much easier on the wrists.
As a western Canadian, I find the idea of something designated zone 4-9 as being “winter hardy” rather funny. Just the other day I was looking at some hydrangeas whose tag said “hardy to -40” and thought, “Yup, those just might survive…”. I always tell people our Canadian bred roses grow their own fur to survive winter. ☺️
😀😄😆🤣
These look fun! Can't wait to see them in the big picture.
I can't believe you guys are able to grow anything in that dust!
I love to see Laura plant anything, I always learn something I didn’t know, before.
Good morning! Love the grasses, adds such a nice texture to the area!
Laura , I just love your enthusiasm for planting -- helping the planets for our grandchildren 💐🇮🇪
The grasses are beautiful! Been slacking of video watching over the last two months, but I have carved out some time this long weekend 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 to relax and catch up. I'm so excited.

I love the grass!! They would be pretty scattered around the Hartley🥰
I love my Zebra grasses. When I moved into my home five years ago I bought one, now have a beautiful privacy fence of grasses swaying in the wind. I've separated that one plant to get more each year and it is just beautiful.
That's the type of grass we're looking for. Do they get taller than 6 ft?
I see the slightest hint of green behind you! Already looking so great
I gawk when i saw the lawn starting... Wow
Love these beautiful massive greens 💚 thanks for sharing your gifts and talents with us. God bless!
Though we get loads of snow at times I still leave all of my tall grasses up for not only the appearance but little animals and bugs. I need some of that grass in my life for sure
Can we all take a sec to appreciate the fact that the grass is already coming up!? I see a hint of green 🌱 ❤️
Oh my goodness!!!!! The big lawn is looking so good behind you!!!!! It’s actually green!!!!!
Seeing a tinge of green on your expanse of lawn!!!
Love, love, love ornamental grasses! They look gorgeous.
I always fill my potting hole up with water especially when the soil is so dry. Gives them a little extra something something😁
I see green grass sprouts in the shot toward the house!! Exciting!!!

I love grasses, my mom does too! They are beautiful in the wind and the sound is relaxing. I want an auger like that, it would beat my shovel. Your family is the best, and love the videos. Thanks for sharing you vast knowledge with us all.
Those grasses really make a bold statement. You have a really great vision for how to design all of these areas of your property!
When the camera pointed towards your house , for a moment I thought which part of the property is that ?? I haven't seen that area before. Then came to realise that you have seeded the grass for lawn. It looks beautiful and is briging a new look to your home .
