I think the best way to describe the ftr is that it's powerful but very manageable. If you need it to be tame you can put it in rain or standard. If you want to hammer it, put it in sport
Indian being Indian and making a bike that has basically a flat torque curve through the whole Rev range. I'm not saying they are better for that, but their bikes are undeniably one of the best if you want to calmly cruise one second and fucking send it the next.
@Chillin4030 I just wish they stuck with the 18/19 wheels and longer travel suspension. There's a great deal on a 2022 for sale near me but I know I'd want to swap the suspension and wheels to the 2019 spec.
Went to the bike shop with my buddy today to get him a sumo, ended up really wanting to take the ftr home. cool review, rad to see stuff from my home state too.
This reminds me of my '04 Multistrata before I put on the Termi muffler. It went from really uninspiring to heaven. I like a quiet bike but there are limits to how quite it can be, this sounds like it has a queen size matters for a muffler
Ive noticed as i compare myself to when i was a young man... I use to have all the ambition in the world but no motivation. These days I have all motivation but no ambition. lol Guess that what happens when you get in a comfortable position and just need to put in your time.
I have an 2023 FTR and I was excited to buy it but after one year of ownership, I'm very disappointed. Having several issues that should not be an issue this day in age such as cold start problems, and stalling.
I have a 2016 Yamaha FZ 09 that I absolutely love but it's about time to get something new I really like this Indian but I wanted to ask if it is as much fun to ride as my bike or should I just get a new MT 09 any advice is welcome
I had some Bridgestone B32 tyres fitted to mine which I thought would be a good move but I went out for a ride with some mates late last summer (slightly greasy, damp roads) and had a couple of pretty uncomfortable moments (under braking) even though I wasn't pushing it. Not sure if it's the tyres or just the bike, or both, but it's slightly dented my confidence. It's been in the garage all winter and I use my Tiger 1200 'off season' but it's almost time for it to come out of the garage. I'm hoping things go back to where they were before the incident!
I bet these are superb bikes to ride. My favourite was the Mk1 with the round clock. The TFT doesn't really suit this bike. I'd like to see you ride a Mk2 Rocket 3 R.
Good to seeyou Jon , man I'd like to hear one of those with some Mean sounding Exhaust , and some other goodies on it!!! And have a someone tune it to see what it's capable of power wise 🤔 Enjoyed the video bro , my best to you , Jackie and the kids . Wishing you guys a Very Merry and Blessed Christmas 🎄😊🙏
Coming from a road glide, I'm looking for a bike that is easier to just take short trips on and maybe hit a dirt trail occasionally. I hate the adventure bike look. Does this for the bill?
I don't know if you will read this because the video is 4 months old . Have you tried any of the after market quick shift kits? If so, which brand do you like the most? Do you think this motorcycle would "like" a quick shift kit? There is one brand that has a down shift throttle blip option that is very expensive. Should I bother in your opinion?
@@JonsMotoGarage thanks for the quick reply. The brand with the auto blooper is IRC components. I am going to check it out further as the price is $869.99. I will let you know what I find out if your interested.
I personally hope we continue to see Indian push the envelope on what American bikes can be. Harley can keep cranking out their overpriced, underpowered baggers until the end of time, they’ve dug their trench. Let Indian run free and show the world that an alternate path exists.
I test drove one today. Yes, it is bananas. Don’t think you’re going to just use the low end on this bike. It goes from no power hardly to teleporting ahead. It was super fun to ride and seemed comfortable, but is way too dangerous for me.
I've never seen a review of this bike focosing on the fueling of the bike in real trafic jams, on the stop and go in the city. It's always in large roads with litle trafic
I haven't measured my around town fuel economy. Maybe ill try and do that one of these days. The small tank is definitely a downside. I feel like I'm filling up quite often. Lol.
@@JonsMotoGarage Thank you very much for your response. Maybe I explain mysef wrong, sorry for my english, but I mean if it is abrupt in low speeds, or it makes a sharp blow on low speeds
It’s a great bike all around. I was able to demo one (several times) and I really liked it. Fine at low speed, seemed comfortable in traffic…..but who the hell really sits in traffic on a bike like this? Split lanes and rip the shoulders. Coming from several different Buells (the latest an 1125cr) this is a great “next step”
Don't know, I like it just sounds so much dirt, I know it's a flat tracker but I wouldn't ride it at the "track" so the exhaust would have to be changed. Peace ✌

This video speaks to me, having an existential crisis about being a dad while reviewing a motorcycle. Right up my alley, subscribed.
Just got my first bike and this is my dream bike, whether I get it sooner or later I'm looking forward to it.
I’ve subscribed, only because I seen your generosity with the water… kudos to you 👏

Any other issues like the screen ? Was looking at getting a 24 carbon but looking for honest reviews.

Man, I wish I could afford one of these.
I miss riding in Chandler/Gilbert! Looking to get onto an FTR next year ;-)
I own a Rogue but I’ve ridden an FTR and just like all Indian Motorcycles. They are aggressive beasts BUT easy to tame if you have the guts.
Stay moto-vated, it pays off. I just bought a new kTm, I also just turned 60 and the new bike makes feel "alive"😁.
MotoVated would be an awesome name for a motorcycle focused RUclips channel!
Been looking for a cbr600rr or 636r to put motoX bars n risers on...but the FTR is still closer to my dyna than a Supersport bike is🛵🤘

I hella respect that you didn’t try any controversial stunts when you weren’t feeling 💯.
Leading by example 👍
I had play on one of those while my streetbob was getting a service. Man it was hard to say no
How was comfort level compared to streetbob
@user-fg6sl7ip3p just playing round town, not to bad but I'd prefer the laid back seating position for all day fun

they changed it to the round screen

The Arapovic sounds pretty good on it. I also like the Toce
Only just noticed this has a cable clutch. Thought it would come with a hydraulic for how well renowned it is.
Anyone that owns one knows you got to Put the loydz v6 reflash on it unlock some more powerr
Would it be a good fit for someone 5' 7"?
Hi, one question. Do u have problem with the engine? I have a FTR 2023, but some times dont start to the first time that push the on button
A few times I had to hit the button more than once before it turned over. But always started.
You have to tune it look up the ftr stall out issue
How does it compare to a buell xb9? (If you have any experience with them)

Get your hands on a KTM Duke and have a play, you won't regret it
Ducati desert sled...
May I ask how exactly do you record audio while riding? thanks
never been interested in sport bikes, but this thing is badass. I'd get one.
Owned an Aprilia Shiver 750 before my FTR, i prefer the throttle action from the Shiver over my FTR. My FTR seems less refined in that aspect.
Yooo are you in Arizona bro? Let’s go for a ride one day! Your videos are amazing man! 🤟😬

I haven't tried any and have little to no experience with quick shifters. So unfortunately I can't speak from experience on this point.

Sorry. Blipper. Not blooper. Smart phone not so smart.
I keep wanting to get one of these. I love my buells, but damn I'm wanting something from last decade haha
Sad to see the 19/18 inch wheels go. Indian should’ve at least doubled down and equipped a 21” front on the rally models.
you can get a tracker version still
AWESOME ! ! ! ! ! !
Also had a 2002 CB 919... comparison?
I have a 02 hornet 900 too and was considering this bike!
You bought a bottle of water from that street vendor and gave it to that lady. God bless you.

I just bought one and I love it

Man you're a talented rider!
Seen a beautiful one on marketplace for 1100. Is that a good price?
Found that Dyna replacement huh?
😉
Hope you're doing well man
I had a Chief 116, malfunction over and over, no solution.
Now, a FTR, same thing, no solution.
What do you mean by malfunction? Just bought one myself. Curious to know
The chief working in one cilindre only and the ftr with traction control on and off with no reason
You the man, Jon!
❤❤❤

Mine does 144 on spedo seems 3mph high, reliable 140 all day.
I had a CB1000, '94. If you ever rode one, how do they compare? Obvious weight difference 🤣
This bike sounds sick with an exhaust.
Indian ❤️

You should hear this thing with a Toce exhaust on it 🤤
