Toons could have been fixed in a few ways by putting some of the common Toon effects on Toon World. Toon World Continuous Spell Pay 1000 LP to activate this card. While you control "Toon World", you can treat the Normal Summon of a "Toon" Monster as a Special Summon. "Toon" Monsters can attack directly, unless the opponent controls a "Toon" monster. If this card is destroyed, destroy all "Toon" monsters on the field.
What does treating the normal summon of a toon monster as a special summon mean? You still have to tribute if it has more than 4 stars? Can you still have a normal summon or you lose the option? I Think you can just put: once per turn you can special summon one toon monster.
@@Ragnarok540 Because one of the original mechanics of toons is that you could special summon them with the regular normal summon tributing. On Toon Summoned Skull, this has been errata'd to "This card Cannot be Normal Summoned or set. Must be Special summoned (from your hand) by tributing 1 monster while you control Toon World." And it would mean exactly that. You still follow the tribute rules of normal summons, but it doesn't take up your one normal summon for the turn. So you could still normal summon another card that's not a Toon after using this to special summon Toon Mermaid, then tribute Toon Mermaid to summon Toon Summoned Skull.
I see, I think that effect of one extra normal summon exists in other cards, and usually says it can not be gained again that turn (floowanderezee being the biggest exception).
@@dometalican1990 This is also considering Toons at the time they were originally released without getting as much support as they have now. Then I found out that they were actually kinda bad in the actual game and felt bad. I think what they really need are some extra deck monsters, like Toon Stardust. Maybe some link monsters and pendulums.
I honestly just think the archetype needs errata across the board, the restrictions on Toon Kingdom and the toon monsters themselves make sense for 15 years ago but nowadays they're just too debilitating. If toon Kingdom didn't cost a banish 3 just to activate or if the toon monsters could attack when summoned they might be a bit better
They'd have to completely revamp them for them to be viable. Just them not being able to attack when they're summoned is a huge problem with them. Though I think they're cool monsters. Always have thought that
It would be nice if all monsters were treated as Toons when Toon World is played, or a quick and easy way to replace the original monster with the Toon version. In hindsight, maybe Toons (and rituals) should have been relegated to the extra deck with more cards allowed.

The first Exodia FTK deck I ever made actually used Toon Table of Contents as a 3 for 1 engine of sorts: the self search allowed you to thin out your deck, the spell activation would give Royal Magical Library 3 counters (therefore 1 draw) guaranteed, and the last copy would search out Toon Blue Eyes which would then pair with Trade In for an extra 3 draws. While obviously not a perfect strategy nor even close to a perfect deck, it was a pretty strong draw engine within that deck
@@namegeneric9344 3 black stone of legend, 2 toon DM, 2 toon red eyes, 3 toon bls, 2 page flips, 3 bookmark 3 Toon table, 3 toon kingdom, 2 solemn judgement, 1-2 torrential tribute, 1 terraforming, 3 pot of prosperity or extravagance, 2 nibiru (this is a going second deck) 2 called by the grave (you can use psy-frame gamma as well), 3 maxx c, 1 planet pathfinder, 2 comic hand, 1 harpies feather duster, 1 toon terror, 1 evenly matched is the basic kinda competitive deck I use. You can take some of the cards out, you can side out lava golem, kaijus and TTT as well. I have been trying to run a toon harpie lady set up as well to utilize harpies feather storm (since it acts like a hand trap if you have a harpie monster)
Toon Table of Contents was also used in Exodia back in the day. You'd use them for general deck-thinning, and also to grab Blue Eyes Toon Dragons for Trade-In targets.
That's not correct. Toon Briefcase: When your opponent Summons a monster(s) while you control a Toon monster: Shuffle that monster(s) into the Deck. Toon Rollback: Target 1 Toon monster you control; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn.
Table of Contents is also always a consideration in any Exodia deck that uses Royal Magical Library, since getting even a single copy of it in the starting hand can amount to several card draws. It can search all the way to Bookmark with RML getting enough counters to draw +1 right off the bat. With Bookmark then capable of being activated to search for just about any other Toon card which will add 1 to 2 counters if you search an activatable Toon spell card. Or it can even search for something like Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon or Red-Eyes Toon Dragon to facilitate the use of Trade-In, Sacred Sword of Seven Stars, Cards of the Red Stone, and/or Allure of Darkness to draw even *more.* With one of the advantages being, that even if you get multiple Table of Contents, Contents + Bookmark, Bookmark + one of the monsters, etc. Since most of them were Spell cards, you could discard them off the effect of Summoner Monk to bring out Royal Magical Library. Or if nothing else, be discarded off of common draw cards like Dark World Dealings, Hand Destruction, etc.
Wow! I didn't realize more Toon cards existed until watching this video. Also, Why did they call that one spell card Double Ganger in the anime, but Mimicat in the TCG?

I can also see why those 2 didn't make the list. Side not: "Comic Hand" has won me several duels. Highest card I took has been 11.5k, I have it saved on "Master Duel".
I've thought about whether I could incorporate Toon Table of Contents into my Endymion deck, but even if I had the points to craft them, I don't know what cards I'd remove as the deck is sitting at 44 cards already. Not to mention the fact I'd probably still get screwed going second or first because my luck is horrible.

Aren't Toons overdue for some Fusions? Red-Eyes Dark Dratoon Master of Chaotic Toons The Toon Dark Magicians Toon Dark Paladin Blue-Eyes Ultimate Toon Dragon Dragon Master Toon etc etc
Toon monsters are one of my favorite archetypes, and yep, it's mostly cause of the anime. It's made clear that Pegasus likes cartoons and whatnot, but the whole "took your monster and made them a cartoon" thing was something I did not expect. Up until that point in the anime, the monsters used in duels as well as the sort of gimmicks they had felt like they weren't *too* out there. Off the top of my head I can think of duelists using bugs, dinosaurs, ghouls, etc... I simply did not expect the main antagonist of the arc to be using goofy-looking monsters. The dude had taken grampa's soul and everything, so I expected something more twisted and dark, and to be fair, it does get to that point.
Honorable mention (or number 11) would definitely be "Toon Magician Girl" as she had seen a lot of competitive play in Duel Links. She is the only card to not have summoning sickness, which means that you can attack the moment you summon her, unlike the rest. Also, she actually made Duel Links players use a terrible skill called "Shuffle" (which makes you pay 300 LP to shuffle your deck) in order to activate "Card of the Soul" so that they can search her from the deck.
Feels like I’m the only person using Toon decks on both Duel Links and Master Duel. MD is filled with tryhards taking 20 minutes just for a single turn using meta decks. My last duel took so long that I was able to wash all the dishes and he was still summoning a bunch of monsters and constantly drawing cards on turn 1
Still remembering when Toon Dark Magician GIrl was the only toon who could attack on turn she was summoned; Magicians Circle abuse was fun as hell with her

From GX: Toon Flame Wingman, Toon Neos, Toon Rainbow Dragon, Toon Armed Dragon, Toon Yubel, Toon Cyber End Dragon
From 5D's: Toon Stardust Dragon, Toon Red Dragon Archfiend, Toon Ancient Fairy Dragon, Toon Power Tool Dragon, Toon Black Rose Dragon
and whatever came after lol
Toon utopia and toon galaxy eyes photon dragon would be sick
They only make toons from the fusion era and as you know they are usually toons of a deck's ace monster
I never thought anything of it as a kid but.... It's kinda crazy there were "toon" monsters in a cartoon and pegasus talks about watching them as a kid
Faced Toons a little while ago on EDOPro and despite their reputation of not being very good, I had no clue to how to face em. Very peculiar deck
That's one of the biggest strengths of toons, fittingly they play really wacky and don't really follow any of the traditional rules of how yugioh is played. This means that to face toons you use a strategy entirely unique to themselves
@@latioslad1 eh not really. If you have any negate/banish effect and use it on toon kingdom that shuts it down unless they have another one in hand. They can’t get resources fast enough to rebuild a board either
U get rid of toon world 3 times maybe 6 if they have toon bookmark
Plus in a true toon deck no hand traps
@@Maxx-Oblivion I didn't say they were invincible. Saying "just get rid of their key card" is like saying "just reduce their LP to 0" technically true but ignores context.
Kingdom to make monsters into marshmallon, attacking directly, mimicat to yoink your own cards, comic hand to say "that's a toon now", the fact the toons are part of the archtype of the monster they are based on and can make plays from those archtypes.
Weaknesses or no that's a wacky playstyle. And having a game of "remove this one single spell or you'll be sad forever" is pretty unique to the standard "make negate board" meta
Toons could have been fixed in a few ways by putting some of the common Toon effects on Toon World.
Toon World
Continuous Spell
Pay 1000 LP to activate this card.
Must be Special summoned (from your hand) by tributing 1 monster while you control Toon World."
And it would mean exactly that.
That treating normal summon as special summon needs at least a soft once per turn. That would be too broken.
@@dometalican1990 This is also considering Toons at the time they were originally released without getting as much support as they have now.
Besides, Toon World is exceptionally vulnerable and taking all other Toons with it would be a serious weakness. A set Mystical Space Typhoon would do more damage than a Dark Hole and on the opponent's turn.
Best goblin cards. Top 10 cards that changed how certain types attributes played, i.e fire formation cards changed beast warriors to include continuous spells traps
I'd argue that Toon Harpie Lady should've been somewhere on the list simply because it gives you the ability to use Harpie's Feather Storm and Cyber Slash if needed.
Every toon except DMG had summoning sickness until Toon BLS.
Toons have always been my favourite archtype. Loved Pegasus.
The Rank 7's mentioned there are cool, but the most important is still Dracossac since it gives them actual Link climbing potential and some immediate power plays that don't rely on Kingdom
0:22 Wait hold on, why is toon cannon soldier EARTH attribute, when the original cannon soldier is DARK attribute???
Both are dark attribute actually, this was error or something
Top 10 Phantom of Chaos targets.
I know, not the best idea but it would be interesting to hear.
I might be a mad lad for this but we need a Red Eyes Dark Toon Dragoon
I agree!!!
Nah. Let's get a toon version of Chimeratech Overdragon And just replace each head with a different Toon monster.
Chimeratoon Overdragon
Level 8
Dark
Machine/Fusion/Toon/Effect
? ATK
? DEF
2 or more "Toon" monsters
If you control "Toon World", you may Fusion Summon this card by sending the above materials from your hand/field to the GY (You do not use Polymerization). This card's ATK/DEF are equal to the number of Fusion Materials used for its Fusion Summon x 1000. If you control "Toon World", this card may attack a number of times equal to the number of Fusion Materials used for its Fusion Summon. If this card attacks directly, the battle damage it inflicts becomes 1500.
Red Eyes Dark DraToon
Thank you, I’ve been waiting on a toon focused video!
My absolute favorite niche deck type of all time. The new Toon support makes me so happy and I love using them in Master Duel. It's a shame the deck is so expensive to build IRL though.
delighted to see this in my subscription feed because i play a toon deck in masterduel
1:38 It's 16 monsters, including "Toon Canon Soldier" itself
If you don't mind, I have a couple ideas.
Top 10 worst mill cards
Best Story cards part 2
Top 10 cards that show actual cards
Top 10 cards that aren't in Master Duel
Top 10 stall cards.
Top 10 generic pendulum cards.
Top 10 parody cards. (Like how Weed Out parodies Return from the Different Dimension.)
Top 10 special conditions in the games.
More Rescue Rabbit, please.
I always liked toon cards because they looked so unique and different. I thought that they were so cool. The way they acted and had so much personality was so great.
@@HexigonSB ya most of the old toon monsters are really really bad now like name the last time you used toon summon skull
@@arandomthingintheabyss2062 legit the only viable ones in toon decks are DM, Red eyes and BLS, either that or more control decks use Gemini elf for the discard effect
Yeah some weeks ago i played against Toons going first. Holy cow if you don't have a Negate on the Field, a way to get rid of Kingdom or a Handtrap in Hand and they are able to play. I got so OTKed
So I don’t know how, but the image of Toon Cannon Soldier you used has the Earth attribute symbol instead of the Dark attribute symbol (even though it is a Dark).
Ngl toon accesscode would be really fun if it banished toons instead of links.
Only toon card I like was toon Gemini elves cause of their discard effect. Sad to say it's not as good nowadays, but it still was good.
This has been the most interesting top 10 I don’t really watch your other channel but I’d love to watch some toon gameplay
Idea: Cards that at first glance would seem horrible but are actually really good.
Might need a bit more of a casual or basic mindset with this but it could be a good introduction on why certain cards see decent use even if their effect is supposedly pretty bad. (Like cards that are great when drawn into by other cards or effects that might not be super obvious off the bat for everyone like Brilliant or Instant Fusion.)
(Also to explain how these cards are good to people like me who don't play modern Yu-Gi-Oh lol)
I like when you mentioned Toon Alligator LOL.]
Top 10 Main Deck monsters with an effect to special summon themselves (or another copy of themself).
Toon table of contents + Royal magical Library + Bamboo swords = the easiest exodia
There needs to be a re-train of Blue Eyes Toon Dragon. It’s too iconic of a card to be as horrible as it is. Maybe Neo Blue Eyes Toon Dragon.
It would also be cool to see Toon Egyptian Gods.
Toons are my favorite archetype, I'm very sad that they're not considered good D:
There is reason you never see them in platinum or diamond... I still like them too.
They are very much a product of "seemed super cool in the manga before the actual card game existed" syndrome.
@@Ragnarok540 I got to plat 4 with it
@@chrxs5411 Can I have the decklist?
Toons are easily one of the Yugioh archetypes ever, I love them
Thanks for making this list. I’ve been thinking about making a Toon Deck for Master Duel and needed some ideas
wow great timing as I had just started making a toon deck yesterday!
"Reaching in at number 3 is comic hand" I see what you did there. 👏🏽 👏🏽
I'd love to see a Top 10 best cards from the Ancient Gear archetype.
Omg it's finally happening a tune deck video. I've been wanting to build one of these for a long time.
wow, the toon archetype has come a long way. almost makes me want to play them in master duel.
Toon Table of Contents was also used in Exodia back in the day. You'd use them for general deck-thinning, and also to grab Blue Eyes Toon Dragons for Trade-In targets.
And also to feed Royal Magical Library in Exodia FTK strategies!
Why take blue eyes when you can take toon aligator
Way higher bm value
Toon Alligator is the ONLY card that cannot be searched by Toon Bookmark, since the other two cards shown have "Toon World" in their card text.
It makes me feel good to see that, even after having not played YGO for quite awhile, I can look at a video like this and immediately know what the top card is going to be.
'Top 10 Best Toon Car-'
Toon Table of Contents. There's not a doubt in my mind that Toon Table of Contents is #1.
Lo, and behold...
Worst Archetypes would be a nice idea for a video
Love your videos
They allow to Know modern Yugioh a bit and Rediscover some cards
I like"Too Harpie Lady" for it's special summon MST effect. I also, like "Toon Dark Magician Girl's for it easy summoning condition and zero summoning sickness.
Nice to see how far the toon archetype has come since that last time I played yugioh back in around 2005. These are some cool and good cards, at least by 2005 standards.
- Best ancient gear cards
- Best standby phase effect cards
- Best continuous spells and traps
- Best monsters with high Defense

Very good video for one of the most old archtypes un the Game.
I would like to see a best fusion monsters with generic materials list or a best ritual monster list
I was waiting a long time for this video
I'm hopeful that one day they'll errata toon blue-eyes to have the same effect as blue-eyes alternative.
Nah, Konami would just introduce a new card instead of adjusting an old card, to earn money.
@@weilamfoo4022 I'll take it. Either way. I just always wanted to use blue-eyes support in the toon deck.
As a Toon fan, I just wanted to say I'm a Toon fan
Really like this top 10 of each archetype
Honorable mention (or number 11) would definitely be "Toon Magician Girl" as she had seen a lot of competitive play in Duel Links. She is the only card to not have summoning sickness, which means that you can attack the moment you summon her, unlike the rest. Also, she actually made Duel Links players use a terrible skill called "Shuffle" (which makes you pay 300 LP to shuffle your deck) in order to activate "Card of the Soul" so that they can search her from the deck.
I used magician girls with her in DL . Its was surprisingly fun to play
Toon Black Luster Soldier also doesn't have summoning sickness
A toon level 8 dark attribute monster would be kind of nice too.
Idea: Top 10 monsters with “odd” stats (stats not divisible by 100, or by 50 if there’s enough of those for a list)
Still remembering when Toon Dark Magician GIrl was the only toon who could attack on turn she was summoned; Magicians Circle abuse was fun as hell with her

It's insane how strong Toons have gotten. They were so incredibly weak in the past that they've gotten multiple completely broken cards that would have been banned immediately in every decent deck and now they are actually pretty decent.
I’ve slapped some pretty solid decks with a toon decks. That and gimmick puppet, and elemental hero are my go to decks.
So why can’t toon bookmark search page flip? I don’t see any rulings saying you can’t. It mentions Toon World in its text like all the other cards.
