The world in this film is so absurdly creative. So many amazing creatures and environments. I can barely imagine how it was all made, but it inspires me so much.
I gotta say, the manga is Miyazaki's Magnum opus. Anybody who likes the movie should definitely check the manga out, it's every theme in the movie multiplied by 100, plus new stuff, all in an incredible epic story, and Miyazaki doesn't shy away from the uglier parts of it all, it's a very morally grey tale.
I really want the manga!! but it hasn’t dropped in price in so long. I might just order them, it’s worth it. I imagine it is quite a ride, especially if it’s as you say it is: more grey.
Wow, your editing is really good. I love Joe Hisaishi's music. It also makes you care about the environment, as similar themes are presented in the music. Sometimes, even silence helps create the tension between the environment and the humans.
thank you!! I appreciate it, I love Joe Hisaishi too. Thats a great point I hadn’t thought about before. His music definitely completely changes the feeling of the environment.
this was a really well edited video and you have an excellent voice! i love nausicaä so im always looking for videos of other people enjoying it or discussing it. i think you did a good job here but u should rly, rly read the manga if u liked the film as the manga goes way more in depth into the world and has some plot twists that throw the movie's conclusion on its head!
yo thank you so much! the manga has, unfortunately, been sitting on my wishlist for a while. I think about it all the time… eventually I will buy it! Lol
Nice video! The manga explores and develops the themes presented in the movie with an extended look on other kingdoms and belief systems, and maybe a more darkened point of view from Nausicäa herself.
Thank you! Thats great, I was hoping the manga would be more intense. I’ve been eyeing at it, once it goes on sale I’m definitely picking it up and reading it.
Studio Ghibli was not even created at this point of time yet.It was their first ever movie You did a good job on this video though!Continue to be part of the studio Ghibli fanbase!!!👍🏼 Oh and the ohm’s are not enemies of the humans.Nausicaa is just trying to bridge peace between humans and the toxic forest and the insects. This is because, people think of violence and try to burn it down in response to the toxic forest. But Nausicaa wants people to be at peace with the insects

When I was younger I could never remember the name of the movie, so I called it "The Giant Rolly Polly Movie."

My bunnies named after the princess who died in the air ship in this movie
I see Myosaki as akin to Tolkien but his films go beyond allegorical stories of religion.
If you wanted to keep this video short then I won't even get started with the manga. Read it years ago, gave me depression, good stuff.
I want the manga so badly! one day I’ll buy it
