Such a missed opportunity for the story was for the wraith arc to get some type of adaptation whether it was another season, or a movie before rebellion since it took place beforehand

Good Documentary

After reading the entire manga i would have to say that emma is in my top 10 of favorite main characters in anime. I love how tenacious and unshakeable her resolve is to save and protect her family. Time and time again ray tells her how its impossible for her to think that she can save an entire orphanage in a world where she is at a complete disadvantage. Traveling through dangerous areas where she has never been before, fighting and running from dozens of demons who are extremely biologically superior to her in almost every way, hideing from an organization thats been around for hundreds of years sending skilled killers after her, And on top of all that dont forget that she has to look after dozens of children while also being a child herself. I think that the manga is overall pretty good and you should finish it if you havent already.

They could’ve easily stretched the manga into 4 seasons and Norman shouldn’t have came back until the last one. Maybe teased in the season 3 finale after THAT event happens. It’s genuinely so heartbreaking how the show went bc this was the first manga I ever finished right after season 1.

What people seemed to have missed is that Madoka is the goal, not the main character. She is the object of desire for our rule breaking lesbian antihero to faun over in a creepy and possessive way. We see Madoka not from the lense of an audience or observer but from the lense of an obsessive stalker that tries to find a way to safe a person doomed to die. Homura is a self hating person, of course she'll rather sacrifice her own happiness and future, become even the devil herself just to have that way that will not let Madoka die. She is like one of those abusive parents never letting their child take any risks and never let them go outside making their kids docile and inactive in the process but reducing the harm done to them.

I feel what madoka says in the flower scene is genuinely how she feels when you listen to ultimate Madokas voice lines in magia record. She wanted to stay with her family and friends but she felt like she had to make her wish, she felt she was the only one who could save all those poor magical girls (and she probably was)

I really liked your analysis, a lot of people hate this movie/homucifer for "going against everything that the og series stand for", but i couldn't disagree more with this, Madoka has been always deconstructing the messages that you would find in original Magical girl shows and this movie still doing this. For example the messages of "self sacrifice is good and do everything in the name of love", by making Madoka's feel sad and lonely due to her sacrifice,not to mention the pain she accidentally caused to Homura due to this, just shows how harmful seld sacrifice can be, even if you are doing this for the right cause. Homura devoting herself to Madoka to the point where she neglects herself is also presented as extremely harmful, like how she is willing to end her life if this means keeping Madoka safe. Homicifer makes sense with Homura character, she is someone who self loath herself a lot and will do anything in order to keep the one who she loves safe, no matter the cost, so her willing to become a devil (even if it means that Madoka will be her enemy),in order to keep Madoka safe from the incubators, makes sense. Her self loathing also plays a part here, of course she would declare herself as the devil, not just because she is doing everything that contradicts Madoka's wish, but she also doesn't seem to be able to think that her actions are capable of doing anything good.

Those first two are absolutely beautiful and wonderfully detailed, much more so than many other anime these days; not that they're necessarily bad, but they wind up feeling rather empty and stiff even when tables are stacked. Appreciate the recommendation, can't wait to show them to my kids. I would also recommend Walt Disney's Fantasia, being a pure audiovisual experience like no other.
