Hey Wolfey, Just wanted to point out one thing. H-Goodra's signature move "Shelter" also raises its evasiveness. Along with both Special Defense and Defense. Its cracked.
I feel like H-Electrode's stats were balanced more around the PLA battle system, where the lower attacking stats are balanced out by potentially taking multiple turns in a row
Yeah I've been loving him in PLA. I consistently get 2 turns for each of my opponent's and I can use 1 of those with a thunder wave, meaning they also get a chance to lose that 1 turn they get. Only problem is when the next pokemon switches in and can deal some heavy damage on me before I can switch out.
One of the things with stat boosting and status condition in Arceus is that they run out. That probably was a factor in how they designed the new stat boosting moves.
@@fynn5423 After a couple of turns, the stats go back to normal or the status effect disappears. Was quite shocked when it happened to me during a trainer battle.
I’m so glad they finally did Lilligant justice. One of my first favorite Pokémon when I was younger, and the alien eye aesthetic personally adds to the charm of its Hisuian design as a ballerina while it beats your ass.
I honestly wanted them to give him a new ability since his signature move inflicts Frostbite Like: His moves double the damage against enemies with status condition
"Flash Cannon, which I'm sure it will get" My goodness I hope so. Hisuian Goodra only getting Steel Beam as a Special Steel Move is bad enough in Legends: Arceus, it would be nightmarish when trying to use it outside of that game.
Agreed. I’ve been stuck with Iron Head both because the research task for Goodra requires it, and because it’s the only reliable STAB steel move it has. Also because the animation for it is funny af.
not gonna lie, i was gonna join the h-goodra bandwagon but i ended up using empoleon in my playthrough. empoleon doesn't get any stat buffs but he did the job better with roost (vs. rest). apparently, you can lower steel beam's recoil in agile style and i was actually able to spam it using roost coupled with empoleon's great defensive typing. and knowing how kommo-o used to be the most trash pseudo until game freak compensated it with claygrorus shoul/scale shot, you can bet your ass h-goodra is getting the same treatment (aka getting shell smash) lmao.
I already loved using a physical Goodra in VGC in the first few seasons of SwSh. I would love seeing H-Lilligant get Petal Blizzard and put it next to an H-Goodra with Sap Sipper.
IDK about a couple tiers, mostly due to the added weakness to Fighting and Ground, along with losing its Fire resistance, but it's still definitely better.
@@kayschut9327 but you wouldn't be using this thing to switch into Fairy type attacks rather more likely to be switching into electric, rock, flying, water, and normal type attacks.
@@agentblackbird9435 Rock/Fire isn't quite that bad. But you basically need stats like Weavile to get good leverage out of it, as the coverage isn't bad at all. Any defensive Rock/Fire is doomed for sure.
I honestly don't even think it looks good. It's values (color wise) are way too close to each other. Either the gray or red needed to be lighter or darker
I was hoping they would give Hisuian Arcanine the Rock Head ability along with Headsmash giving it a nice offesive pressure with Head Smash Wild Charge Flareblitz and Double edge
They still might, theres murmurings in late february theyll finally add home compatibility to both bdsp and pla but dont hold your breath. A lot are saying most abilities are place holders which does make sense.
I think Braviary is getting the short end of the stick here. Yea it lost speed, but Its signature move Esper Wing raises action speed, which when compared to mainline game moves makes it a priority move. Maybe still not great, but priority is never to be underestimated, especially on a STAB special move almost as strong as extreme speed. I am most hyper for Liligant and Goodra though. Both have been absolute monsters in Arceus so far.
Goodra could be amazing as a weakness policy Mon under trick room with a partner like bulldoze dusclops especially since it's immune to amoongus because of overcoat
@@autobotstarscream765 I hope not. Something about Hisuian Goodra feels like a "once in a lifetime" mon. Like, we're never getting something like this again anytime soon.
i’m still holding out for ability changes and move pool additions. hisuian arcanine had so much potential as a wall breaker with rock head smash and flare blitz
Yeah, hopefully those are just placeholder abilities because even having H-Arcanine as a kamikaze wall breaker would be better than trying to use K-Arcanine's more support oriented abilities on a defensively awful type combo
@@Druid-T hey I'm not saying they don't need to fix that too GF really wants to push the idea that maybe mixed attackers aren't that bad. you can't have a bulky mixed attacker. you just can't.
Buffs in arceus are balanced over the fact that they have a duration. I've read somewhere that casting a buff in the agile form last 2 turns, normal cast is 3 turns and strong cast is 4 turns. I really doubt they would release these as permanent buffs in the mainline game. I hope they add PvP in dlc though just to try out this battle system with someone who actually switches mon.
What if, like the stat-boosting moves- Defiant raises both physical and special attack? I'm against making all stat boosting stuff apply to both physical and special stats if only aesthetic wise (harden vs. barrier, swords dance vs. nasty plot). But I wouldn't be against it...
I used my empoleon as a physical attacker, just because it's special attack is higher doesn't mean it's attack is terrible, combine it with defiant and swords dance and a decent physical move pool and you get a pretty good bulky setup sweeper
zoroark has always been my favorite pokemon, and im so happy about his hisuian form because the type becomes infinitely better, the stats are better, and the design is still awesome
I really hope the abilities of some of the Hisu mons get changed. Like H-Samurott: Justified or Defiant HCanine: Rockhead or Reckless HPhlosion: Adaptability
I can imagine Typhlosion getting Serene Grace. It sounds weird, but it’s based on how it cleanses lost souls and guides them to the afterlife. It would also make it easier to burn opponents to power up Infernal Parade or Hex. I think it would be really fun to see a Serene Grace mon that doesn’t rely on flinch hax to be viable.
Yeah I'm surprised wolfey dismissed hisuian braviary so harshly. Sheer force life orb hurricane under tailwind or rain sounds pretty good. Heat wave is good coverage, a non-stab spread move that should ohko when super effective most of the time, and esper wing may wind up being easily the strongest special priority move in the game
Chloroblast seems intended to be a grass-type selfdestruct style move to me. Selfdestruct deals a ton of recoil damage rather than knocking the user out in Legends Arceus, and Chloroblast's recoil is comparable. My favorite is Goodra though, I really liked seeing the pool floaty that is Sligoo in the wild for the first time, and Goodra's giant shell and scrawny front half is a lot of fun design-wise
I'm excited to try Lilligant on sun teams if they ever get it to PvP or Showdown. Chlorophyll + Victory Dance will make her an insane sweeper with her speed tier (base 105 speed lets her outspeed Regieleki and almost every choice scarfer in the sun) but bulky flying types like Torn-T or Corviknight can still check her since her coverage outside of her dual STAB isn't that great. I'm mainly speaking from a singles standpoint not doubles or VGC
@@autobotstarscream765 a pokemon with Flareons stats, with special attack and speed swapped, would be a perfect rock/fire type Pokemon - massive 130, base attack, guts boosted Flare Blitz and Head Smash with the Rock Head ability. Rock polish / flare Blitz / head smash / facade
I could be wrong but I personally interpreted braviary’s signature move as being a priority move which I think could be rather scary if that is what it is since it has solid BP and can flinch
I think what's supposed to happen is Esper Wing gives it a speed boost with chance to flinch. That would make sense why it had a speed nerf from its Unovan form, plus Defiant could be a placeholder for Competitive instead, to match Braviary going from a physical to special attacker (also plz give my boi Boltund Defiant instead of Competitive wtf Game Freak)
Esper Wing has a high crit chance, not flinch chance. Makes Sheer Force not as good as well, since you won’t be able to use it effectively alongside Esper Wing. Still pretty scary though, especially if they fix the abilities and give it Competitive.
He hasn't noticed that the "Raises the user's action speed" in the move descriptions shows up on moves like Quick Attack and Aqua Jet. Which means that H-Braviary's Esper Wing would be a priority move in the usual style of Pokemon. That's kinda scary isn't it? STAB 75 BP Priority Psychic attack with a higher chance of landing a critical hit than usual? I don't think H-Braviary will care quite as much about its Speed Stat as he's making it out to seem. The move not being perfectly accurate is a thing to worry about though.
@@willoman88 the stats are kinda really a lot to be desired, the 75BP priority stab is really harsh, and on paper the hurricane sheer force stab is nuts, but it won’t matter because it’s both slower and easier to kill, so i wouldn’t think too hard into it
I think Zoroark being able to disguise itself as a support Pokémon like Whimsicott and being immune to the inevitable incoming Fake Outs is a very underrated quality that it has. Plus soaking Close Combats pretending to be a Pokémon like Tyranitar also sounds super useful.
Because stat increases don't stack in legends, I think victory dance might be just +2 attack +1 defense in the mainline games. If so it's basically just swords dance. On liligant I don't think the +1 def is going to matter much. It could however be so much worse.
on the +1 def not mattering much, i know it's not in pla but i've had a weakness policy kommo-o tank moonblast/play rough behind screens with +1 def/sp.def after a clangorous soul. if kommo-o can do that at 66% health, then h-lilligant can do that at 100% health (and then regain the health back from a +3 drain punch/recover). having said that, i can imagine these new moves are going to get retrofitted if and when they become transferrable to gen 9, because we all know +1 def/sp.def/evasion is ABSOLUTELY getting banned lol. victory dance will probably end up being a better bulk up rather than a better quiver dance imo. maybe even have a 1-use cap like falinks's no retreat. h-lilligant would be too stronk
@Dan Won Kommo-o has to be used very intelligently though to make work when you're weak to common offensive types such as a 4x times Fairy, 2x Flying, Ice, and Dragon weaknesses and doesn't have resists to the spamable ghost type although boasting 7 resists.
@Dan Won i'll admit maybe to a special flying attack since victory dance only gives +1 to def and not sp. def. but a +1 def boost behind screens is enough to help it tank a physical flying move since it'd only be 1.5x effective - and this only for flying type moves. all the other weaknesses are essentially negated from screens and if a physical move (like ice punch) is used, h-lilligant is basically at +1 def despite the type effectiveness. only time will tell once gen 9 happens, but i'd say i'm pretty confident h-lilligant can pull it off.
with zorua, you can also go the other way, if you have a zorua on the team, and lead with a poison for example, if they think it is a zorua when its not, they may not go for the super effective move and try punching it with fairy instead, the new zorua can increase the mind games options
I would say it’s more offensively viable so could work on Trick Room, but it got a speed boost for some reason. Like, why? Regular Avalugg’s stats made it perfect for Trick Room, and now that it somewhat had the tools to utilise those stats they went and ruined them. It’s still slow enough, but there’s a few things that it can no longer outspeed.
A lot of the Hisui typings aren't very common. In some cases, yeah - we were due more of that typing, but in others... there was a reason. Coalossal works because he was designed around his weakness - if you hit him with a water move, sure it'll probably kill, but if it doesn't, you're toast. H-Arcanine does not have the luxuries of Steam Engine. H-Electrode is interesting, since the only Pokemon to have this typing was Mow-tom. Not having to worry about Flying or Ground will be nice - under the assumption those defenses don't crumple like paper. However, without the offenses to threaten, or the defenses to tank, he's only really speed. H-Zoroark will be fun. Being immune to three types, and also being able to disguise as something else? You have a good chance of just switching in for free, taking a free hit, and then murdering. Might even throw on Air Balloon to be funny and get that one extra immunity. H-Braviary is just sad. It should really be faster than this, and Psychic/Flying don't compliment each other that well either. It getting Defiant is just the cherry on top of a pie of crap. They just don't work together, and there's not enough bulk for it to work. H-Goodra is going to be amusing. Super bulky, will run decent in Trick Room, and could hit pretty respectably to boot. I love this little Dragon Snail. H-Avalugg.... Look, there's a reason nobody uses Avalugg. There's also reasons nobody uses Aurorus. You didn't have to combine them - I just feel bad for the poor thing. It's cool that the Ice Table gets some recognition - but I'd argue he got done dirty again. What's the obsession with slow Ice Types?
Hisuian Braviary’s signature move will likely work as a priority move in the traditional battle system, so if it gets Calm Mind it could be decent. They definitely should’ve made Avalugg an Ice/Ground of Steel/Ground type.
Don't forget... not every pokemon is designed with the intention to be used competitively.. pokemon is first and foremost a catching/exploration game for kids with a focus on single player...
@@bitsamui5104 actualy for years Pokemon have been using multiplayer as an excuse to do various things (the stupid two games thing for example forcing friendless fans (or ones that simply don't know others that play Pokemon) to get both if they want to actually get everything) Legends Arceus though is definitely focused on singleplayer, I don't think multiplayer battles are even possible which makes the "focus on singleplayer" excuse work for this one batch
With ice types, it really is sad that one of the best typings to be is just an ice type. If it’s not Water/Ice, Electric/Ice, or Ice/Ghost, you have no way to guarantee that Pokémon you are against cannot just kill you in one or two hits. Also, this is another case of “a cool design means a horrible competitive life”.
The fact that every dual type that is part Ice is problematic. Even Alolan Sandslash, who has the best defensive type combo of any dual Ice Pokémon, is 4x weak to Fighting and Fire.
For lilligants victory move, I believe it is supposed to be the opposite of quiver dance where in the mainline games, it would give +1 to speed, attack and defense. Still incredible broken since lilligant can learn recovery, making it able to be bulky, heal and sweep
I think it’s really funny that there’s all these really awful typing combos, and all these awful stat distributions, but it’s canon because they all went extinct by the time main line games take place lmao
there are some with decent typings and stats though like the Hisuian Zoroark, then again their extinction could probably be explained by their pokedex entry which portrays them as being self-destructively aggressive.
@@Eclipsed_Embers and I'd wager a lot of them aren't extinct so much as harder to find, or they somehow lost access to the things that enabled them to evolve into a hisuian form. Potential inclusion in future games would be to add some character or characters who have you embark on a quest to bring back these various lost forms in various ways, like locating new sources for Black Augerite, leveling up a Rowlett in cold enough weather, finding a way to make peat blocks for Ursaring, giving a Goomy a bunch of mineral water, etc.
@@Ryodraco while some of them are probably still around there are some that I'd bet are extinct, Cleavor would fit right in with other fossil pokemon (it's even the rock type) and Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Voltorb/Electrode and Hisuian Quilfish clearly get completely replaced by the normal forms by the modern day (if Game Freak wanted Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Voltorb/Electrode and Hisuian Quilfish to be around in the modern day they could've easily just put it into Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, they added a book to the library to act as a hint for the Manaphy quest so they were clearly willing to make small changes to tie the games in together and unlike the other pokemon that got Hisuian forms Sneasel, Voltorb (Electrode was only obtainable by evolving a Voltorb), and Quilfish were already catchable in Diamond and Pearl).
Wolfey thank you for ranking these Pokémon based on actual usage vs just appearance, there’s so many videos like that. Truly appreciate the time put into this 💕
I feel like if Victory Dance does make it to main line, their gonna give it to Victini and God help anyone who has to face a Mythical with a move like Victory Dance
I was thinking of using a physical H Goodra with Sap Sipper. Then you could switch it in on Spore/Sleep Powder or another grass move, get a +1 off of it, start dishing out pretty hefty Iron Heads or Power Whips.
It's literally the Pseudo of Hisui as a Region in its own right as opposed to sharing Garchomp with its modern counterpart Sinnoh, as Garchomp in the past is neutered and just food for Steel Snail.
Hey Wolfie, I just want to say that I absolutely loved this week of back to back to back to back to back to back wideos. If you need to take a little break we understand
I think you are underestimating sheer force hurricane from braviary and it should also get tailwind like it’s unova counterpart. It may be slow but it hits like a truck.
I love your videos and the passion you put into them, the amount you care about this stuff is definitely evident. I love the less pushy way that subscriptions are asked for, and the analysis in these videos is really engaging, even to a non-competitive player like myself.
Surprised you didn't mention Snarl on H!Zoroark. That thing could be a beast for countering Special Attackers; give it an Assault Vest, max HP, and a bit of defense and special defense, with Snarl, Bitter Malice, Counter, and U-Turn (Assuming it can get base Zoroark tms). That's a single team slot that counters double special attack opening and special attack + spread physical. And it can force your opponent to make unoptimal 1st turn plays in order to play around Zoroark.
In my playthrough of arceus I’ve really enjoyed lil litany and zoroark. I knew I was going to absolutely love zoroark, but Lilligant was a very unexpected yet nice surprise in utility. It’s speed allows it to hit go multiple times against a large amount of opponents in the game so I’m always able to set up victory dance and one shot nearly anything that even looks at me funny. Her being so frail is definitely her biggest downside. I’ve seen her survive being hit like once or twice ever since I started using her after the mirelands.
She carried me through the game. I got victory dance off, then usually got hit and lived because the defensive boost, and was able to heal with Drain Punch. She pretty much solo'd the post game fights while being under leveled. It was insane.
Goodra should run sap sipper instead of overcoat, since most powder moves will trigger sap sipper and it gives an immunity to grass, all overcoat provides is immunity to hail.
With H-Zoroark, you can run a ghost-type STAB move and flamethrower and you'll get the same offensive benefits as Normal/Ghost since you'll be able to hit all types for ether super effective damage or neutral damage, except now you hit 4 extra types super-effectively.
@@AshenDust_ Considering H-Zoroark's options for Normal stab are pretty poor at the moment and there's no guarantee that it'll gain access to something like Hyper Voice or Tri-Attack when joining the mainline games, that's not much of a loss
H-Goodra’s signature move also obscures, which could mean its evasion raises one stage. I actually replaced Garchomp with Goodra in PLA. I think it could be pretty good, though I’m sad it doesn’t get Flash Cannon.
They lobotomized the Pseudo of Sinnoh to establish H-Goo as the Pseudo of Hisui, inb4 it gets Flash Cannon in all subsequent appearances and has to face a Garchomp with a 21st-century moveset that can actually fight back.
Steel dragon is just a solid typing. Great offensively since dragon hits almost everything and steel deals with fairy. Also great defensively since both types are pretty good and steel do complement dragon pretty well. Also goodra is a pseudo legendary so it has good total stats, and the changes they made are pretty good. I honestly feel that goodra will make in some comps pretty well
Steel/Dragon is OP when you literally ban Earthquake from the format, neutering Garchomp and Physical Landorus from striking back against it. Garchomp is the Pseudo of modern Sinnoh, but Hisuian Goodra is _the_ Pseudo of Hisui.
Sludge bomb is fitting to run on zoroark because its a plague based mon so poison move and could easily help swap into something they wouldn't seemingly kill a fair to then hit em with a poison move
Your growth has been amazing, and doing what you're passionate about and being honest with everything adds so much do how good of a creator your are, especially over some that lie and throw slander at every turn. You certainly deserve every bit of support you've got going on.
My theory for how their going to handle Victory Dance is that they're going to drop the 1.5x boost and just make it 2 stages of Attack and 1 stage of Defense.
Doubt it. Not boosting Sp.Def, sure, but the extra +0.25% isn't doing a lot. Particularly if it can't be stacked by using it multiple times. Not much of a reason to think they'd drop the most defining trait of the move just to avoid that.
Goodra is definitely my favorite. It's so bulky and Shelter is Iron Defense mixed with double team. Don't know if they will keep it that way in future games but if they do that move is OP.
Hopefully they don’t lmao. They changed Shadow Force to boost evasion, so maybe Shelter could work like Protect but with a defence boost when you pull it off? Still be broken, especially in doubles, but it would be a bit more skill-based.
@@ghengiroo4143 A lot of moves work differently in Arceus so I know they are probably going to change it for a main series game. Your version sounds kind of similar to the way King Shield works which would be pretty cool.
Qwilfish has potential especially considering it can hold eviolite now. With its better defensive typing it could work, especially with intimidate, icy wind, maybe snarl?, etc.
Hisuin Zoroark and Hisuin Goodra are really gonna get their time to shine, meanwhile Hisuin Braviary is just *BEGGING* for a different set of abilities when being transferable into Home.

I hope that they receive unique talents to make some of them relevant. Like Hisuan electrode could receive an ability that makes all its attack use its speed stat!
What they should have done with H-Avalugg if they wanted an ice mountain Pokémon is make it ice / ground, and give it a new ability like Solid Rock but an Ice version, and take a chunk out of its massive defence stat to put in sp def, not too much to make it too min maxed of course
Hisuian Avalugg had the one stat it couldn't afford to have lowered (Special Defense) be lowered, the one stat it didn't want raised (Speed because of Trick Room) raised, and lost the ability that blocks Intimidate. (Own Tempo) Without any outright game spoilers, let's just say it's a massive change for the worse that it compensates massivlely for.
I love how Hisuian Goodra became the ultimate Amoongus killer. It resists grass and is immune to poison and spore. Not to mention it can just kill it with fire blast
Defiant could be a great ability if they kept the whole raise both special and physical stats as one thing. So when you get intimidated both your attack still raises up either +1 or neutral idk
I think you could do a video about how you think Eviolite will affect Pokémon like ursaring, stantler, and H-qwilfish. It would give good insight on when Eviolite should be considered.
As a primarily singles player I'm pretty sure Avalugg's a meme in singles too. Remember we have focus blast ran by a ton of special attackers for coverage, Avalugg just dies even if the special attacker isn't very good. Like, even Weezing ruins this thing and Weezing's a PU mon. Pretty sure it also dies to most defensive bulky waters using scald, so yeah, gonna have a few issues there. I think Hisuian Avalugg is just worse than regular Avalugg in singles, it has worse typing and worse special bulk and it's not like the 10 speed is putting it above anything at all. Regular Avalugg is already untiered and pretty useless. Only place it might see play is in gimmicky trick room teams where it can crush things with strong jaw boost I guess.
Hey Wolfey, wondering if you would ever consider making a video talking about the most versatile Pokemon in VGC that have lots of different usage/sets? It would be nice to hear which Pokemon you would use that aren't considered "meta" and how you would use them as well!
I dunno these past couple of generations they have been acting super conservative with speed. Like why are 90% of these pokemon slower than their previous forms.
the best bet would be to use the fairy type since normal Zoroark is weak to it while Hisuian Zoroark is neutral. of course, if they were disguised as a pokemon that resisted fairy (Heatran for instance as it double resists fairy) then that could turn things into a difficult situation
Something that was missed with H!Braviary was the text of their signature move Esper Wing. It shares the same "action speed" text of Quick Attack, Ice Shard, and Shadow Sneak. So it sounds to me Esper Wing in a competitive/traditional game is a 75 BP, 90 Acc, +1 priority special attack. The hilarious downside is that Braviary is Flying thus not boosted by Psychic Terrain and the Terrain itself blocks priority... The priority at least gives it a Trick Room niche
Regarding Hisuian Electrode, the stats kinda suck but Soundproof is pretty neat to switch into Bug Buzz nonetheless, IMO Chloroblast could also have a two ticket ride with White Herb. Fun Fact: The Hisuian Voltorb/Electrode trailers and dex entries suggest that it stores seeds inside its body, which might suggest that it learns Leech Seed in open format mainline titles.
My favorite new Hisuian Pokémon are Zoroark, Decidueye, Lilligant, Goodra, Sneasler, and Ursaluna. Hisuian Zoroark has a ton going for it with the speed, Sp.Attack, and triple immunities behind a kickass design and the possibility of keeping illusion ability Lilligant goes from meek waltzing plant to plant that will do a really impressive jig on your grave Decidueye goes from ghost archer owl to ninja ambush owl, and has a fun aesthetic resemblance to the in-game security corps NPCs and a color palette resemblance to the crimson Mirelands, giving me mental images of people getting snuck up on by Hisuian Decidueye hiding in the reeds in the bog. Goodra with a shell is like very fluffy cat with a box, need I say more? So I caught an Alpha Sneasler a few days ago, and it looks genuinely terrifying as an Alpha in a way that isn’t obvious at its normal size. Ursaluna is downright amazing, dual immunities, amazing bulk and physical attack, and Ground STAB added to the classic Normal-type vast type coverage… plus it’s a big, chill-until-it-isn’t, Bog Bear. Alpha Ursaluna gives me ‘giant cuddly dog that will let you use it as a pillow’ vibes
Hisuian Avalugg could’ve been so good if they kept the design but went Ice/Ground, that’s a type that already succeeds with Mamoswine so there would definitely have been more potential.

@@jyrrin bro this is a purely single player game, it doesn’t really matter which Pokémon is better because you can’t use them in comp anyway

@Dan Won Worryingly, it is indeed in the game. I just double-checked on my Lucario.
Hisuian Goodra definitely is a couple tiers above normal goodra, it will be fun to see in the VGC format(hopefully)!
@@matthewchamberlain2953 Most fighting and ground moves are physical, and it gained quite a bit of base defense to compensate it seems.

Shelter also raises Goodra's evasion, so now its harder to hit and going to take less damage. Goodra is very good IMO
Raises Evasion? Banned!
@@autobotstarscream765 I hope not. Something about Hisuian Goodra feels like a "once in a lifetime" mon. Like, we're never getting something like this again anytime soon.

GF really wants to push the idea that maybe mixed attackers aren't that bad. you can't have a bulky mixed attacker. you just can't.
@This Is Jay A god awful typing defensively, but offensively it’s pretty good.
“It’s a special attacker with defiant!” My thoughts on empolean too such a shame
@@ChaoGuy2006 Not a good choice of example moves, because Barrier raises physical defense too.
@@ChaoGuy2006 there is literally a special attack counterpart to defiant, boosting both would be overkill.

H-Samurott: Justified or Defiant
HCanine: Rockhead or Reckless
HPhlosion: Adaptability
Adaptability Eruption go brrr
with h samurott I would love a fairy type version of justified.
What about Hisui Quilfish with Eviolite? It resists Knockoff, which would give it practically a free chance to punish someone for attempting knockoff.
Or Usaring with Eviolite.
Braviary does have sheer force so I can see sheer force hurricane being scary on rain teams with tailwind support.
It has the strongest Hurricane in the game and can 2 hit k.o Ferrothorn in rain with Heat Wave
Chloroblast is just a Grass-type Steel Beam.
When the meta that involves knocking out your Pokémon as fast as possible is back on Smogon, Hisuian Voltorb is going to be fun.
@@reneantoniorodriguezippoli7561 Honestly worse since it also drops speed

Chlorophyll + Victory Dance will make her an insane sweeper with her speed tier (base 105 speed lets her outspeed Regieleki and almost every choice scarfer in the sun) but bulky flying types like Torn-T or Corviknight can still check her since her coverage outside of her dual STAB isn't that great. I'm mainly speaking from a singles standpoint not doubles or VGC
Fire and rock would be an awesome offensive type for a sweeper, but we only get it in tanky bulky low damage Pokemon
Gamefreak: Oh a Rock Type!! it needs to be slow

I could be wrong but I personally interpreted braviary’s signature move as being a priority move which I think could be rather scary if that is what it is since it has solid BP and can flinch
Dark types laugh at Braviary behind its back.
@@ghengiroo4143 ty for the clarification. yeah I still think with the speed boost it's busted if they get Competitive
I’m so glad that the new Pokemon that I have on my PLA team (Typlosion, Lilligant, Ursaluna, Goodra) are good.
There are 8 type combinations 4x weak to 2 moves. Ice + Rock, Steel, and Bug, Rock + Fire, Steel, and Ground, Bug/Grass, and Ghost/Psychic.
Wave Crash (Basculegion Signature Moves) also has the same priority move description as Aqua Jet.
Also I think he missed that it gets Sheer Force...+hurricane
@@willoman88 the stats are kinda really a lot to be desired, the 75BP priority stab is really harsh, and on paper the hurricane sheer force stab is nuts, but it won’t matter because it’s both slower and easier to kill, so i wouldn’t think too hard into it
i hope it will be good though, it’s a very cool looking pokemon and i want something from this ‘generation’ to be good other than goodra and zoroark
@@willoman88 Sounds like a mon on Rain + Tailwind support.
I feel like physical Quiver Dance makes the most sense, since base form Lilligant is one of the only non-butterflies to learn Quiver Dance.
with zorua, you can also go the other way, if you have a zorua on the team, and lead with a poison for example, if they think it is a zorua when its not, they may not go for the super effective move and try punching it with fairy instead, the new zorua can increase the mind games options
i love avalugg so much and i was so excited to hear it got a new form, i was hoping it would make it actually good but it’s somehow even worse now :(
I would say it’s more offensively viable so could work on Trick Room, but it got a speed boost for some reason.
Speaking of bulk, the fact that H-Braviary loses speed and defenses to boost HP… ugh
@@bitsamui5104 actualy for years Pokemon have been using multiplayer as an excuse to do various things (the stupid two games thing for example forcing friendless fans (or ones that simply don't know others that play Pokemon) to get both if they want to actually get everything)

Wolfey “It’s a special attacker’s with defiant?!”
Empoleon “there is another”
Pyroar as well
I was just thinking about this. Ice table getting a rock typing in this form feels like a straight up nerf that it really didn't need.
@@iantaakalla8180 Ice is just the worst type in the game
It needed to at least be ground/ice
Idk why they keep making defensive ice types tbh lol.
Like atleast offensive ice types like weavile arent totally useless, in singles atleast.

Glad to hear Hisuian Goodra has great potential. It's my favorite Hisuian form.
It's literally the Pseudo of Hisui as a Region in its own right as opposed to sharing Garchomp with its modern counterpart Sinnoh, as Garchomp in the past is neutered and just food for Steel Snail.
If H Zoroark gets boomburst, then it's gonna be cracked. 10 less power than hyper beam but no drawback except being blocked by soundproof
It's spread and hits your ally, there's a downside you gotta account for

Should do a video seeing how accurate each one was
In my playthrough of arceus I’ve really enjoyed lil litany and zoroark.
You don’t get stab tho

Sludge bomb is fitting to run on zoroark because its a plague based mon so poison move and could easily help swap into something they wouldn't seemingly kill a fair to then hit em with a poison move
imagine Hisuian Arcanine with Rock Head or Reckless (and STAB Head Smash)

And DDance because Dragon Doggo (logic behind its access to Outrage).
Hisui HZoroark and Hisui Goodra are my fav so far and I hope they're good competitively.
Raging Fury is sort of like Outrage, yes.

Zoroark hisui can now bait fake out because it's a ghost type.
What they should have done with H-Avalugg if they wanted an ice mountain Pokémon is make it ice / ground, and give it a new ability like Solid Rock but an Ice version, and take a chunk out of its massive defence stat to put in sp def, not too much to make it too min maxed of course
you could disguise one zoroark as another and it would work so well
Hisuian Avalugg had the one stat it couldn't afford to have lowered (Special Defense) be lowered, the one stat it didn't want raised (Speed because of Trick Room) raised, and lost the ability that blocks Intimidate. (Own Tempo)
Without any outright game spoilers, let's just say it's a massive change for the worse that it compensates massivlely for.
I love how Hisuian Goodra became the ultimate Amoongus killer. It resists grass and is immune to poison and spore. Not to mention it can just kill it with fire blast
It's also good against Venusaur and I'm sure that Life Orb Earth Power cannot kill Goodra
Killing the impostor, never though I’d see the day.
Defiant could be a great ability if they kept the whole raise both special and physical stats as one thing. So when you get intimidated both your attack still raises up either +1 or neutral idk
Can you make a video on how good the LEGENDS plate is for Arceus? I think it would be really interesting to see your thoughts on it
I guess he won't give it much importance because Arceus, like the rest of the mythicals, are banned for life from VGC
I think you could do a video about how you think Eviolite will affect Pokémon like ursaring, stantler, and H-qwilfish. It would give good insight on when Eviolite should be considered.
Hold on a minute, Hisuian Lilligant gets Hustle and Chlorophyll!? That’s so good! Fear the Lady of the Ridge!
wolfey ur going hard on the videos lately, love it!
Avalugg's life is Sturdy Mirror Coat. 😎
I feel so bad for it. Seeing it had the same type combo as Arourus made me sad
Hey Wolfey, wondering if you would ever consider making a video talking about the most versatile Pokemon in VGC that have lots of different usage/sets? It would be nice to hear which Pokemon you would use that aren't considered "meta" and how you would use them as well!
They should’ve kept Braviary’s speed the same and just taken more out of its physical attack. Or kept it as a physical attacker
I dunno these past couple of generations they have been acting super conservative with speed. Like why are 90% of these pokemon slower than their previous forms.
It was probably done to pair with Esper Wing
You might have mentioned it while I was destracted, but H-Goodra's signature move also raises evasion in addition to defence.
Raises Evasion? Banned!
prediction: they give goodra-h shell smash
I think the people at game freak had a contest how many ds Pokémon they can make variants for and they put the best of them and put them in the game
Imagine fighting against someone with both Zoroarks... madness incarnate
the best bet would be to use the fairy type since normal Zoroark is weak to it while Hisuian Zoroark is neutral.
of course, if they were disguised as a pokemon that resisted fairy (Heatran for instance as it double resists fairy) then that could turn things into a difficult situation
@@Eclipsed_Embers yup, thats the thing of playing Zoroark, making those kind of plays
They really just shafted Braviary for no reason at all. Imagine if they gave it a special version of Defiant
competitive
Same with Wyrdeer
Slow for no reason, c'mon game freak Stantler has been shit for ages and you don't give the evolution decent stats
@@soulofsomething6651 FR why is the fast mount base 65 speed lol
@@RSmeep13 They just need to swap his special attack of 105 with the speed and boom
Now you can do the skill swap intimidate gimmick
Hisuian Zoroark has a ton going for it with the speed, Sp.Attack, and triple immunities behind a kickass design and the possibility of keeping illusion ability
Lilligant goes from meek waltzing plant to plant that will do a really impressive jig on your grave
Decidueye goes from ghost archer owl to ninja ambush owl, and has a fun aesthetic resemblance to the in-game security corps NPCs and a color palette resemblance to the crimson Mirelands, giving me mental images of people getting snuck up on by Hisuian Decidueye hiding in the reeds in the bog.
Been very excited to see this video, just subscribed a little while ago and I’ve been enjoying the content
Hisuian Avalugg could’ve been so good if they kept the design but went Ice/Ground, that’s a type that already succeeds with Mamoswine so there would definitely have been more potential.
