That's a great question! Since you already completed your initial contract, your new contract would be whatever you decided to sign with that new ANG/AFR unit!
There are many factors that go into whether or not they are approved, but manning and timing are the main factors. When the package is submitted the main thing your Career Field Manager will look at is manning for your AFSC. BUT, the timing of your request is also important. If you are halfway through your contract but still have two years left, less likely to get approved. If you’re 12 months out from your separation date, then toure more likely to get approved, especially with adding a strong justification statement that shows your plans and how it also benefits the Air Force. Additionally, it greatly helps already having everything lined up (a spot at that unit, a position/job, etc.) with a welcome letter, then all of that almost guarantees approval. This is just what I and a few other ISRs, and other PC approved members I’ve talked to have experienced. Long-winded, but I hope that helps.
RUclips isn't the weirdest place to get answers. . .I am currently on my second enlistment, my ETS is August 2027, and I am trying to Palace Chase due to family reasons. Does that seem too far out for AFPC to accept? Some people say yes, others say no. By the time I would get out I would have 2.5 years left on my Active Duty contract. I have a unit willing to hiring and am interviewing for an ART position with a high likelihood I'll get it. Would a Letter of Intent help my chances? I tried applying about a year ago, but AFPC told me no at that point (cited manning issues when our CFM literally told me he didn't know what they were talking about). If I just keep trying do you think they'll just say yes? Sorry, that is a lot of questions, but I am not finding any solid answers.
@neeloraturner7178 TLDR: Yes, the letter of intent to hire will help, and yes, keep trying! Hi! First off, thanks for your patience as I've been traveling a lot lately and haven't been checking message. You're absolutely right, people can find most answers to questions on RUclips now, and it's the main reason I created these videos and have plenty more in development that I'll be releasing soon! Those are very good questions, and there are never "too many", definitely ask as many as you'd like. Everyone's situation is different. Seeing that you're on your second enlistment, anytime would work really; although, I'm sure they'd prefer to see you completing some more of it as you're still a few years out from ETS. To answer your question: yes, keep trying. Work on polishing your justification. Make sure leadership is tracking reasons, etc. Getting that ART will help as you're showing them that you have something lined up, and you'll for sure be continuing your service in a part-time capacity within a component of the Air Force while also working as an ART. Definitely don't give up! I'm working with many people PC and PFing right now; it's a process, but definitely worth it. You've got this!
Well, you should be able to access that same link on VMPF through the AF portal. That being said, while useful, it is not always accurate. Probably not what you want to hear but if you’re in the service, get with your ISR (in-service recruiter) for either reserves or guard as they see ALL vacancies. They can then also better help you based on your goals/interests. If you’re not in the service. Reach out to the recruiters for the bases that interest you. Hope this helped!
Can you clarify your question a bit? I want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly to provide the right information. Are you asking if you are placed in a AAC if approved for Palace Chase, or if there are certain codes that would not be able to palace chase?
i was told by the isr i can choose a dos 4-12 months after half waypoint, but unable to do so on the online application, & is there any fix to that or no?
Hi! Can you elaborate on what you mean? Are you saying 4-12 months out from your halfway point of your contract before separating through Palace Chase? Definitely doable when you request your new separation date. Just keep in mind the further out you are from your regular separation date the less likely it will get approved. BUT many factors are considered in that decision, so doesn’t hurt to try since you can just reapply later if that doesn’t work out. Let me know if that clarifies your question.
@@milguybobby yes so my halfway point is 3 aug 24 so the earliest i can separate is 3 dec 24 ( 4 months) & the latest is 3 aug 25 (12 months) but i figured it out i would have to apply for palace chase first essentially let afpc deny it then apply for miscellaneous reason if i read it correctly when choosing dos and it’s the 4th billet on step 2 on the online application
@@nbskyle well basically, if you try far enough out in advance and get denied, you can just try again, can be for same reason. Sometimes, just being closer to your original DOS ups your chances. Then if it eve gets to the point of being 6 months or less out, it's automatically Palace Front. Positive thoughts and vibes your way!
@@milguybobby of course, I submitted my package April 11th. It was reviewed April 16th now it’s sitting with the CFM as of April 18th. AFPC says that the manning is good for me to palace chase, so now I’m just waiting on what the CFM says.
Grats! The final approval timeline will depend on how far from now your new ETS date is. Mine was tentatively approved in June with a new ETS in November (5 months later), so I received my final approval in August. 2 full months for AFPC to process it. If you haven’t yet, I’d get with a TAP counselor already, even without final approval. Grats again!🥳
@@milguybobby my notification had my requested DOS of 5 Jan 2024. I was told to standby for the TAPS. 1 of my recruiters also mentioned 30 Dec. so the sooner the better.
Nice! With it being October and your new DOS in Jan, you should have a higher priority, so you should hopefully hear something back from AFPC within the next 1-2 weeks.TECHNICALLY you can/should start TAP- Transition Assistance Program (it bothers them when people call it TAPs, lol) when you’re 18-24 months from separating, and that is directly from the TAP rep at MFRC (Military Family Readiness Center), which they reminded us of two days ago. Grats and good luck with the separation process and the rest of your journey!
With your DOS being in Jan and it being Nov already, I’d definitely reach out to your ISR to have them reach out to AFPC. If not, you as the palace chase member are fully justified to reach out to AFPC directly. In the tentative approval email should be contact information in the email somewhere.
What happens if you’re on the indefinite contract? What is your commitment for palace chase?
That's a great question! Since you already completed your initial contract, your new contract would be whatever you decided to sign with that new ANG/AFR unit!
Great info!
Glad you think so and thanks for the feedback! 🙏 More to come soon as I get settled in at my new duty station!

Is there anyway we can reach out to you? This is some good stuff and I was looking for a little more information.
Sure, np. Just email me @ milguybobby@gmail.com ! :-)
What’s the chances of my palace chase getting approved if my CC inputs disapprove for the endorsement?
Hi! It definitely doesn’t help, but in the end it’s up to AFPC/ your CFM regardless, SO there’s still a chance.👍
