    What frustrates me as an Army National Guard Mil Tech full time is that time doesn't count if I were to go AGR. 5 years in the technician program within the MOS that I would go into as AGR, if I were to transition, and it counts for nothing. Not to mention, I have 12 years in the National Guard and none of that time counts towards active duty because I haven't had any deployments.

    Does time serve as air National guard goes towards that 20 years service?
    Or would one be active duty for the time to count?

    Hi! I have two questions :) I’m going Air Force reserves. The deployments are voluntary right? When there’s an opportunity to deploy it’s not mandatory? And also is one able to use the shooting range at a base when not drilling or when they are drilling?

    • @andreacosta5064
      @andreacosta5064 4 года назад +2

      Hi Fabio. Congrats on joining the Air Force. I can only speak for the California Air Guard when I say deployments are usually voluntary. I suggest getting with your unit leadership to find out their deployment tempo. If you want to find out your options in the California Air Guard, feel free to give me a call at (805) 415-7269. As far as your shooting range question, you’ll want to ask your specific Security Forces Cadre for their policy. Hope this helps.

    I’m prior service marines 5 years, I’m pretty pumped to join but I feel like covid is slowing my process when it comes to getting into contact with a recruiter in my state. My question:
    I’m wanting to be an airborne mission systems operator. Realistically, while going to school full time, will I be able to hold a federal career and also be In the AGR?
    Also, what challenges should I be aware of while coming in as an infantry sergeant integrating into a tech field without experience?
    Thank you for the vid.
    Semper fi, and aim high.

    A few risks of owning a property wherever u pcs, is you better have money for repairs, and to cover mortgage when there is rent coming in from the tennants. This coronavirus pandemic was real bad for landlords if you can't collect rent to pay the mortgage, that would be scary.

    Hi there so I’m stuck with the B1-Bs working on them maintenance AD for 8 years now. There was a article that came out stating they’re pushing for early outs into AGR or reserves. Is it possible to still put an application for AGR without breaking from full time so I can get the 20 year retirement. I’m currently going for a maintenance unit on fighters in OR closer to home?

      Also let’s say I got approved for it and I come close to the end of the contract at the AGR slot can I reenlist or reapply for more years in the same spot till I hit that 20?

    If you sign up for Air National Guard, could you switch state from lets say California to Nevada after a year or two years?

    • @andreacosta5064
      @andreacosta5064 4 года назад +5

      Hi Jack, you can switch states at any point in your enlistment. Would just need a justification and approval. A common justification might be college or a good civilian job that requires the member to move

    I'm actually moving to California from Indiana this summer. I wouldn't mind if you'd be blunt with me, I would like to join the ANG and get an AGR slot. On average how long would it take to get an AGR slot and can I expect to keep that slot for years for example? I used to be in the Navy Reserve and I'm also a college grad. I'm looking to be anywhere in Southern California for at least 8-9 years then maybe one day me and this girl would move back to either of our home states of Indiana or Texas.

    I’m 24 out of college with a bachelors degree with a goal of becoming a civilian cop. I’m interested in the air national guard what’s a better option? Security forces or security forces officer?

    • @sargecollects
      @sargecollects 3 года назад

      Since you have a BA degree, I would say try out to be an officer in the security forces squadron. Now, I am not sure how many positions a unit will require for officers but if you wanted to have a good chance of going into SFS...then go enlisted. I suggest you go officer route first.....more "money"....and more responsibility.
