The interesting thing is that Iran is one of the few countries in the Middle East that has treated it’s Jewish population better and respected their religious rights. Also Iran is majority Shiite, while the Palestinians are majority Sunni. I am of the opinion that the bond between the Iranian government and the PLO/Hamas might not be as deep as many think, since these two sects continually have conflict with each other.

First, it's easier to hate Israel as a Muslim country than not to hate it, not matter the type; however, this is thankfully changing with better relations with certain Muslim countries, especially the UAE. Second, and more importantly, they have an Islamist government (very conservative Islamic government). In modern day perceptions of very conservative Islam, a Muslim person/country should hate Jews, especially if they try to form their own country near Muslim land. Of course this is a very skewed perception and actually doesn't align with Islam, but it's the prevailing one nonetheless.

Same risk of becoming a hostage of own made hate rhetoric lies with Iran, more so a risk when Iran aspires to have nuclear bombs and declares its intention to eliminate Israel, which leaves Israel with no choice but to address the risk.
