the word "Se[hardic" (Spanish) doesn't mean they are from spain lol... that means that they follow the Halachic rules made by RAMBAM (rabbi moshe ben mimon) who was living in spain. that's why the jews that called "sephardic" are called like this. glad to help
And they lived there for hundreds of years and flourished, and ran away when Christians took over with Muslims, and now they are biting the hand that fed and protected them
Arabic is Semitic language Arabs are Semitic people ... And Benjamin Mileikowski Netanyahu is the grandson of Nathan Mileikowski born in Kreva Belarus East Europe🇧🇾🇧🇾🇧🇾 So who is anti Semitic again???
Jews from Yemen were never "Spaniards". Those who are called "Spadi" are those whose ancestors were expelled from Spain at the time the Jews were expelled from Spain, most of those Jews immigrated to North Africa. The ancestors of the Jews of Yemen immigrated from Jerusalem before the destruction of the First Temple and remained there until 1949. (The majority) So there are Ashkenazim, and there are Sephardim and there are Yemenites, you can call the Sephardim and Yemenites "mizrahim"
This is the first argument. Secondly, Jews have always remembered their roots, no matter where they lived. This has been proven historically, in writing and verbally in their prayers. Thirdly, because they are there now. As one of them said, "Now it's finally ours, and that's how it's going to be."
God. There are so many things wrong here... Let's just start with the question which shows such ignorance. The fact that you call the people who are not Ashkenazi - "Sephardi". That in itself is wrong. It's important what word you use. Sephardi are a small minority of the people who are not Ashkenazi and they usually came from places like Greece, Turkey, maybe Bulgaria and a minority of the Jews from North Africa and some of the Jews in the land of Israel. These people have a unique heritage like the Ladino language which resembles Spanish a bit and was to the Sephardi Jews what Yiddish was to the Ashkenazi Jews. And I think that they are indeed descendants of Jews that were expelled from Spain in the 15th century. BUT, most of the non Ashkenazi Jews are what we call MIZRAHI (eastern) Jews. They come from ARAB countries. They didn't necessarily come to the middle east from Spain. Some lived in these Arab regions for millennia and their language was ARABIC. Now to be fair I would add that in Israel also these names - Sephardi and Mizrahi are used in an ambiguous way to refer to non Ashkenazi Jews without a distinction. That's why many of the people you interviewed agreed when you told them - so you are Sephardi? even though many of them were probably Mizrahi and not Sephardi. I think that ambiguity stems from the fact that many Mizrahi Jews prefer people to connect them to Spain rather than the Arab world which is considered more primitive. If they'd say they were Mizrahi, people would know that they came from an Arab country. If they say they're Sephardi, it's like not exactly clear if they came from the Arab world or they come from the true Sephardi community which is more connected to the Jewish-Spanish heritage.
A Mizrahi Jew like my grandmother was also Sephardi. Sephardi is not just an indication of the areas you were born but also the halacha and traditions you follow. Mizrachim are Sephardi.
@@arielaw4 No, certainly not in the sense that Sephardi indicates your origin from Spain, like Corey says in his video. While Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews may share traditions and halacha, they come from different areas and different origins. Just Google it, you'll find the answer.
@@arielaw4exactly, it’s not that crazy if you think about it halakhically. Edot are not ethnicities, that is a 20th century concept. Sephardic Jews are called that because they follow the Sephardic rite, which the vast majority of Jews living in the Middle East have used for 500 years…
The question is phrased in an assumptive accusatory tone that immediately puts people in a defensive mode. You should have rephrased it to "do you think...? " and "why?"

Sephardi means spanish but is a bit of a misnomer as it refers both to ethincally sephardic jews, as well as the Mizrahi Jews of North Africa and the middle east. Mizrahi were heavily influenced by sephardic culture after jews fled to their countries after being expelled from the Iberian peninsula. However ethincally they can be descendent from jews who always lived in MENA or a combimation of multiple ethnicities.
@@aryebognar6663 exactly . So Jews who migrated from Spain to to MENA and lived there for centuries with Jews who had already been living there share genetic markers from multiple groups. I only make this distinction because in the video the question makes it sound like Jews came from Spain to places where Jews had not already been living and were completely ethnically and culturally "Spanish" or "European" before moving to Israel, which is more the case. It seems like even some of the Israelis who were asked were not even aware of this but DNA testing on most Sephardic/Mizrahi Jews proves this. This as well as sharing cultural practices that are definitely more associated with the MENA region.
@@DanielSmith-sp5fjactually the Eastern Sephardim already migrated back to the Ottoman Syria and Palestina in 15-16th century after the Spanish Inquisition and many of them even converted to Islam and were assimilated to Arab people. That is why there are Israeli Arabs who have surnames such as Abu Hasira and Abulafia which are of Sephardic origins. Thus, even if the people choose to believe that Sephardic Jews are Spaniards who converted to Judaism, they have been assimilated with the rest of the Jewish people for many generations. Why would Sephardi Jews who converted and have been assimilated to Arabs have rights as Palestinians but the Sephardi Jews who don’t and have been assimilated with the rest of Israelis have no right?
In 1920 in the British Mandate Area lived less than 1 million people, today more than 21 million. This is like if Germany would have today 1.6 Billion People. We know the 7 million of Jews come from migrations, but it is obvious that an important part of the Muslim population also migrated to that area.
Where did you get the 21 million? They're literally just around 14M (7M jews, 2M israeli arabs, 2M Pal'ns in Gaza and 5M pal'ns in WB). And no, ottoman consensus actually show that there was no significant migration, neither arab nor jewish. The increase in jewish migration started with the british from ~84k to ~650k meanwhile arabs increased from ~660k to 1.3M. that's about 7x jewish increase to 2x arab increase in 20 years in a region with some of the highest birth rates in the world. And needles to say that since 1948 there was NO arab migration to the area (rather literal depopulation either due to ethnic cleansing policies or ppl seeking better future). Thes facts show no indication of increased/comparable migration pattern on both sides.

Thanks for youtube translator lol. Given that Palestinian right to self determination conflicts with the right for self determination of Jews this situation will continue. It is not even about historical claim; a lioness is never shared by two lions... currently Israel is more successful in establishing its right for self determination. There is no world authority that establishes it, only force. So this is a dead end, - today there are more Jews in Israel than probably ever was, and it just doesn't align with the national aspiration of Palestinians.
@@thefatherofwilliamit's actually a very difficult process to convert to Judaism, so no, unlike Islam and Christianity not everyone can simply convert to Judaism. Remarkably simplistic question! They're in Israel now, they were in Morocco before, and they were in Spain before that. Why would someone start at that point in history. Jews are characterized as Sefardim or Ashkenazim (as well as others). This isn't too suggest that they originated from Spain or Europe - duh! They were all expelled from the land of Israel. I could be more tolerant and go along with the "every question is a good question" line, but this question is almost always brought by antisemites as another attempt to eradicate our connection to the land of Israel.
Israelis are Antisemites. They are genociding the Semitic Palestinian people and destroying Semitic lands. Even in ancient times there were many other tribes living along side the Israelis. Like the Canaanites whose descendants are the Palestinians. Judaism is a religion not a state.
The last guy made the most sense. He was so blunt, and put it in simple terms. Only solution is one state for Palestinians and Israelis with equal rights. Anything less than that will never work
That won't work because Arabs will outnumber Jews and Israel will cease to exist as a progressive democracy. Israel was created as a Jewish state for the protection of the Jewish people that humanity has tried to kill for thousands of years. Arabs already have 22 countries. Jordan is primarily "Palestinian".
NEITHER side really wants a two state solution. The Israeli citizens are more open to Palestinians, but October 7 has damaged a lot of that sentiment. Whereas most Palestinians don't even want an Israeli to visit places in the West Bank (Corey can't go into Gaza)This was in some of Corey's other videos.
It sounds ridiculous to you for two reasons: 1) you don’t realise that most of the time they are talking about the bible 2) you don’t understand that Palestinian nationhood is something which developed as a concept alongside Nazism; such that the Arab leadership in the region was highly connected to the Nazis. Do not take my word for it, look at archival documents from the early half of the twentieth century. Look up old photos of ‘Haj Amin Al Husseini’, then look into his movements during the early part of the twentieth century. There may be condemnation of Netanyahu’s claim that the idea of the Holocaust came from him; but there is no denying that there was active collaboration and shared aims between the Arab leadership and the Nazis when it comes to treating Jews like lesser humans. Something else, folks who have beliefs about this topic which originate from hostile propaganda and related opportunistic info wars - it’s often claimed that the Jews ‘stole’ Palestinian land. There may be one of cases of this, but it misleads people about what was happening before ww2, which was mostly efforts to return to Jerusalem. Land purchase records demonstrate this but the campaigners don’t bother to look at this. In fact it’s also true that some early settlements outside of Jerusalem were set up (see this example rarehistoricalphotos.com/tel-aviv-sand-plot-1909/ )

The reading that I have done on the matter says that during the inter-war years, the word 'Palestinian' meant 'Jew.' The Jews were the Palestinians who were re-settling their ancient homeland. Indeed, there always was a Jewish presence in 'Palestine' from the time of the destruction of the temple (A.D. 70) until the beginnings of the Zionist movement in the mid-to-late 19th century. Furthermore, depending on the source one uses, between 52% and 65% of Jewish Israelis have their origins in the countries of North Africa and the Middle East. They and their descendants can tell of how the Arab nations did a very thorough job of ethnically cleansing their countries of their Jewish citizens. Finally, I find it very telling that many Arab Israelis have very quietly decided that, regardless of Israel's shortcomings, they are better of living in a Jewish state than in any of the surrounding Arab nations. A final note here: I understand the term 'Arab' to be a linguistic one designating the 22 Arabic-speaking nations of the Middle East and North Africa.

Here is my explanation as a Turkish born American Sephardi: Let's say the family called the Smith family owned a large piece of land somewhere in New Mexico USA where siblings and cousins - extended family lived a modest life. One day another family - the Andrews family - comes along and offers to buy all that land, houses etc. for a very good price. The Smith family take advantage of this once in a lifetime offer and sell the land to the Andrews family. The Andrews cultivate the land, start a farming industry, educate their children who later start building technology and an industry. Three generations after the Andrews' bought the land and their grand children are living there, one day the grand children of the Smiths come back and tell them this was their grandfather's land and they want it back. Would this be acceptable? Would it be legal? After the Zionist congress in 1898, Jews bought land on Ottoman controlled Palestine. (The land records, the deed records still exist). For example the Sursock family - Christian Arabs - sold their vast amount of land around the Jezreel valley to Jews from 1901 to 1925.In 1948 there were lands owned by Jews as well as land owned by Arabs, everything else was passed from the Ottoman Empire to the British Empire by Treaty of Versailles. UN decided to partition the Palestinian land left after Jordan was carved out from Palestine, to be shared between the Jews and Arabs, each ethnicity to create their own sovereign state where they held the majority of the population and dividing the British land in proportion. This way Arabs received about 60% and Jews 40% of the land. Jews accepted the deal and declared independence while Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, without asking what the local Arabs of Palestine wanted, decided to wipe out Israel and the rest is history as we know it.

Y'all - Spain is just as Europe as "scary Poland and Germany". Though he sometimes does denote Spain as part of Europe, so who knows. Also disappointing to see so many cite the Bible when there is plenty of archaeology and genetic evidence of Jewish roots in Israel.
But the archeology and genetic evidence only says that once Jews lived there. That's just a fact, it's not normative. It doesn't say that therefor it's their land and only there land forever. To get a claim you have to refer to the Bible and the alleged devine promise.
The claim of the Jews to the land is HISTORIC, not biblical, anyone who traveled in israel knows how strong and deep the connection of Jews to that land is, there are Hebrew writings in every archeological site, that israeli kids can easily read today. Jews always lived in Jerusalem, zfat, akre and Tiberius, and even Napoleon himself back in 1780 initiate a movement of jews returning to palestine (google it). The last guy is correct too, in all of the wars that were forced on the israelis they have won. if that doesn't give them entitlement to that land , I don't know what will. Pro palestinians thinks that Israel started in 1948, but the mass return of jews to Israel started in 1860 with the "old Yishuv" at the same time when native american experienced the Trail of tears. if Israelis need to give the land they "stole" in 1860, than please expel all European Americans from New york, and give it back to the natives.
Saying, as many in the video, that a land belongs by religion (by God) to some people is kind of strange. If you want to say they won it by war, it's legit to me. “Sephardic” refers to the exiles of Jerusalem that Rome sent to Spain under Titus, as prophesied in Obadiah & Isaiah 66. The expulsion from Spain sent them across the Mediterranean world but many returned to Jerusalem and Safed hundreds of years ago. Herzl was Sephardic but his family migrated among Ashkenazim. Sephardic is not limited to Spanish Jews but refers to all Jews who remained on the Mediterranean coasts between Israel and Spain, hence they are Sephardic Jews; Hebrews dispersed between Judea & Spain. People saying North Africa is “Eastern/Mizrachi” must be unfamiliar with geography.
Some lands were conquered, some were bought, some were uninhabitable and had no owners. The fact is that the last border expansion happened almost 60 years ago (voluntary border reduction at 2005 btw) and there are many hundreds of thousands of Israelis living on those lands. This is just a fact of reality, and no one on earth can change it or cause those hundreds of thousands to evacuate. If it was my land lost I would be salty too tbh, but by now (60 years later) its a fact that can't be changed, I would just accept it and try to make the best of the situation I am in.
There was only one person who seemed to understand why. The reason is that because in 1922 the land was divided between the Arab Muslims and the Jews. This is what the Arab Muslims wanted and demanded. As a result they got 80% of the land and the Jews were left with 20%. The 80% is now called Jordan. Therefore, the Jews have more right to live in the 20% that is left (Israel) than the Arab Muslims.

Good episode. Thanks. My belief, based on observation of historical conflicts, and speaking as an outsider, is that people want "Nation". But that word "Nation" means "refuge" to many, "enterprise" to others, and a "mixture" to yet others. The fact that Arab Israelis are exempt from army service, says that something remains unclear. The Arabs want it all? Not committed to Nation?

The 2000 years since the destruction of the 2nd temple is the blink of an eye in terms of genetics. Jews fled to places in Europe but even with some intermarriage over the centuries it doesn't change genetics. It's how you got people who are pretty brown, in places like Lithuania which is north of Poland. Some of those brown people emigrated to the US, first to the East Coast and then California, and a few generations later there was my mom, who was pretty brown and I'm a bit too brown to be considered "white" in most of the US. People would say "You're 'something'" or "Really, what are you?" it's pretty funny. My mother and her people wanted to bury the past so thoroughly that we kids were told we're a bit brown because we're part Navajo. At least it's a bit more imaginative than the old Cherokee lie. But it turns out not to be true. I'm probably about 2 years out from making aliyah.

The question is why did Jews come to Europe in the first place? They exiled from the Land of Israel because of the conquest of different missionary empires such as the Hellenistic, Roman, Islamic, Ottoman and other empires. Jews had to flee! Even those who were in Spain fled in the deportation of Spain to other countries in the Middle East. Jews in Arab countries underwent ethnic cleansing. The fact is that there is no safe place for Jews and Jews should live in their own country. Probably in the country where they were created and arose as endigines
You have to ask why Jews need a "safe country of their own". What are they doing in every country they enter that is so abhorrent that they have been kicked out of over 100 countries in history? Could be things like where it says its ok to sexual abuse children as long as they are under 9 years old under Talmudic law
Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews genetically are roughly half Levantine Middle Eastern (it can vary by individual) and most of the European ancestry is Mediterranean from antiquity during Hellenistic and Roman times. Therefore, Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews are mostly a MENA-Med mix with a lot of Israel/Italy/Greece-type admixture. This is proven by autosomal DNA and haplogroup results found in both groups. They are firmly rooted in the Eastern Mediterranean and any additional admixture picked up in the Diaspora doesn't change that fact. Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews belong in Israel. The indigenous Jewish homeland.

@@f18ACAPELLA According to Jewish sources, the land of Israel was promised to the people of Israel, especially to the descendants of Abraham. In the Bible, it is written in Genesis that God promised Abraham the land: "To you I will give this land" (Genesis 17:8). Ishmael, the son of Abraham by Hagar, did not receive the land. As stated in Genesis 21:18, it is mentioned that Ishmael will dwell in the wilderness of Paran and not in the land of Israel. The Jewish history in the land of Israel is documented for thousands of years, with evidence of Jewish settlement, particularly in Jerusalem, which is a significant spiritual center for the Jewish people. As noted in the scriptures, Jerusalem has been a holy city for Israel since the time of King David (2 Samuel 5:6-10). Therefore, based on these promises and this history, the Arabs do not have a divine right to the land of Israel as the people of Israel do.

I understand the question, but it isn’t the smartest, to be honest. even though Mizrahi Jews have stronger connection to this land genetically, also Ashkenazi Jews does. apart from the fact that they belong to it historically, culturally, and religiously, a good amount of Ashkenazi Jews are connected to the Israelites genetically. the fact that they were expelled to Europe a long time ago, does not mean they’re indigenous to Europe, or belong to it at all. the holocaust happened for a reason. because even though some Jews had blue eyes and blonde hair, the Nazis believed they were a different species that did not belong to Europe. and they weren’t wrong about this part. they really didn’t belong to Europe. 🤷🏽♀️

My answer to the question, as a third generation Middle Eastern Israeli Jew, that the Jews are not only a religion, they are also a people! how does it work? How can it be said that all Jews are related to a country in the Middle East, if some of them are Europeans, or Sephardi? Very simply, the most fundamental difference between Judaism and Christianity and Islam is this: Christianity and Islam are religions founded on preaching and spreading the religion to all the surrounding nations. Christianity sent messengers all over the world, and Islam conquered huge territories in order to spread the religion. Both Christianity and Islam have engaged in forced conversion throughout history, which is why they now number billions of believers all over the world. If you take a random Christian or Muslim, and investigate how the religion came to his family, you will likely end up with a charismatic preacher who taught them about Jesus and the New Testament, or Muhammad and the Kuran, or armed conquerors who converted by force or torture. Judaism is completely different. Judaism supported that Jews keep the Torah, and non-Jews keep the seven mitzvot of Noah's sons. Judaism is a religion of tradition. A tradition that passes between father and son, mother and daughter, rabbi and his community, and so on. And the tradition was preserved in such a way that thousands of years after the destruction of the house, all Jewish (religious) communities preserved it. In Asia, Europe, Africa, they prayed in Hebrew, observed the mitzvot and the Jewish Halacha, read Hebrew Torah books, performed the Jewish ceremonies, and always prayed that a day would come and they would see Israel and Jerusalem in its glory. The Jewish religion has never abandoned the desire to return to our homeland. If you take a religious Jew and investigate how Judaism came to his family, most likely it is a tradition that is thousands of years old, preserved despite the endless attempts to exterminate Judaism and the Jews. No, I am not saying that the land belongs only to the Jews, and I am not saying that the Arabs who lived here have no right or connection to it. I believe that Jews can live in peace with everyone in the Land of Israel. My midwife was Arab, and so was my teacher. I certainly hope that a day will come when Arabs will not be afraid to live among Jews, and Jews will not be afraid to live among Arabs. And I am a strictly orthodox Jew.
The truth is and according to documented history and DNA studies ; ancient Hebrews branches off the Canaanites and invented the stories of the fictional character Moses and the Exudes to give themselves a glorified and distinguished history. They also invented “ god gave us the land” . What happened after that is mostly, glorified facts mixed with some fiction.
I agree with you, even though it's ironic that we invented a past which says we came from outside (Iraq, Egypt) while it's very likely most of the population was autochthonous.
These Jewish people were expelled from the land for 2000 years. Their ancestors had to live somewhere until 1948 so why does it matter if a couple hundred years ago their ancestors lived in Morocco or Spain? The ancestors from Morocco or Spain had ancestors too and they trace back to the Biblical land of Israel. The land belongs to the Jewish people because God says the land belongs to the Jewish people. Their land deed is in the Bible. The truth is, Jesus Christ is God and He is coming back. Everything is happening on His time. He is the Creator, The Beginning and the End, The Word, The Messiah, etc. He said in the latter days the Jews would return to their homeland and that is what is happening. The Jews are God’s chosen people, and He is not done with them. If you have an issue with this then talk to Jesus Christ who is The Almighty God about it. No matter what you think or how you feel will stop or prevent the truth. The Jews will call out for Jesus at the end of the tribulation, and He will return. Jesus Christ is God and He came to this earth 2000 years ago wrapped in flesh. He came to this earth to shed his innocent blood and die on the cross for everyone’s sins. He is the Lamb of God. Anyone who puts their trust in Him and Him alone will be saved and will spend all eternity with Him in Heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” John 1:29 John the baptist 29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
The concentration of the people from a religion or a nation in a place, country etc, is a matter of geopolitical situations... Situations created a Jewish state, so these people came to their ancient homeland ... So easy to understand. What is the problem ??

What I have read by the way is the Canaanites referred to in the Torah were likely the city dwellers along the coast while the early Hebrews were pastoralists, but they all were related ethnically. One of the new trends is for Palestinians to call themselves descendants of Canaanites (they used to say Philistines) (and it could be true of course but Canaanites are long gone from the nations of the world)... but the purpose of it is to find yet another way to erase Jews or disconnect Jews of today from any connection to ancient Israel. On an individual level, maybe, but on a collective level this is was not true. I also didn't mention the fact that women got the right to vote but it's less relevant for this topic specifically (and I know it's very short version of history and alot of deatils are left out but it's for speaking specifically about these differences) now in israel case it's also that the jews wanted safety from persecutions and progroms but we also had a foundation here being the ancient homeland of the jews and it was the arabs who lived here ( as well as the rest of the middle east) that came through different colonial powers in the region ( including arabs and muslim conqeurers themselves) and they who kept fighting against the jews and attack us time after time after time and even when there have been attempts in the past to try to reach some diplomatic solution it ended in more violence from the arabs towards the jews and yes there are people that argue that the us and the west in general should be abolished (besides communist or former soviet union countries) and that it's an evil colonial racist system and they are complete crazies , and the not so funny thing is that they also project the same about israel with the palastinian arab and muslim propaganda . claiming that the arabs are native and the jews aren't . but yes it's deffenitly both ignorance and evil . I also don't deny that the Us have had and still has many problems , the same as Israel . but that does not excuse the behiaviours of the , arabs\palastinians , muslims or their communsit supporters , behaviour .

Exactly!
Yemenites Jews have a very distinct culture and history, I think it's even fair to call them their own Eda.
Did the Ethiopean Jews immigrate also from Jerusalem? And do they share the same DNA as the Ashkenazi Jews?
@@kwilla2001 it’s unknown exactly where the Ethiopian Jews came from, but they most likely came from those in Yemen, so they are related.

This is the first argument.
Secondly, Jews have always remembered their roots, no matter where they lived. This has been proven historically, in writing and verbally in their prayers.

@@annaan8232 How is a fantasy book "historically proven"?
@@annaan8232 ur little fairy tail books is not history
Maybe people should just let jews identify however they want?
A Mizrahi Jew like my grandmother was also Sephardi. Sephardi is not just an indication of the areas you were born but also the halacha and traditions you follow. Mizrachim are Sephardi.
@@arielaw4 No, certainly not in the sense that Sephardi indicates your origin from Spain, like Corey says in his video. While Mizrahi and Sephardi Jews may share traditions and halacha, they come from different areas and different origins. Just Google it, you'll find the answer.

The terms of ashkenasi, sephardi, mustarabi, mizrahi, etc describe Jews' migration.
North African jews are Sephardic not Mizraħi . Middle Eastern Jews are Mizraħi
@@EAlyahya I didn't completely understand your question. I didn't say anything about anyone not having rights.....

Then if we took a DNA test for all those immigrants they all should have a common factor right?

It sounds nazi.
it's bonkers!
there is a state called Israel. it really exists google it, its a fact.
It sounds ridiculous to you for two reasons:
1) you don’t realise that most of the time they are talking about the bible
2) you don’t understand that Palestinian nationhood is something which developed as a concept alongside Nazism; such that the Arab leadership in the region was highly connected to the Nazis.

Here is my explanation as a Turkish born American Sephardi:
Let's say the family called the Smith family owned a large piece of land somewhere in New Mexico USA where siblings and cousins - extended family lived a modest life.

Did you speak Hebrew in Egypt before exporting it to the land of Canaan during the conquest of Yehoshua ibn Nun ?
@jenesaisplusjaioublie9686 Yehoshua Ibn Nun lmfao.
Yes, even if you believe in the Bible, it very clearly mentions the hebrews living in Canaan (the land of Israel) before moving to Egypt because of a severe drought. If you look at history and archeology it also confirms the fact that the hebrews - precursors of the israelites and later, jews, were canaanite peoples, with canaanite culture and language, that is well reflected in the Jewish people, as we preserved our holy language - Lashon HaKodesh - hebrew, our prayers, our traditions, our holidays etc.

Unbiased and unemotional response from the last guy 👍🏽 pretty much sums it up imo
The last guy is the most sensible.
But pretending you are a superior race and the chosen people is something more akin to some ideologies in Europe 80 years ago. Also, history has NOTHING to do with rights to a land to a certain religion.
The Palestinians also have a historic claim

As stated in Genesis 21:18, it is mentioned that Ishmael will dwell in the wilderness of Paran and not in the land of Israel.

My answer to the question,
as a third generation Middle Eastern Israeli Jew, that the Jews are not only a religion, they are also a people!
how does it work?
How can it be said that all Jews are related to a country in the Middle East, if some of them are Europeans, or Sephardi?
Very simply, the most fundamental difference between Judaism and Christianity and Islam is this:
Christianity and Islam are religions founded on preaching and spreading the religion to all the surrounding nations.
Christianity sent messengers all over the world, and Islam conquered huge territories in order to spread the religion.
Both Christianity and Islam have engaged in forced conversion throughout history, which is why they now number billions of believers all over the world.
If you take a random Christian or Muslim, and investigate how the religion came to his family, you will likely end up with a charismatic preacher who taught them about Jesus and the New Testament, or Muhammad and the Kuran,
or armed conquerors who converted by force or torture.
Judaism is completely different.
Judaism supported that Jews keep the Torah, and non-Jews keep the seven mitzvot of Noah's sons.
Judaism is a religion of tradition.
A tradition that passes between father and son, mother and daughter, rabbi and his community, and so on.
And the tradition was preserved in such a way that thousands of years after the destruction of the house,
all Jewish (religious) communities preserved it.
In Asia, Europe, Africa, they prayed in Hebrew, observed the mitzvot and the
Jewish Halacha, read Hebrew Torah books, performed the Jewish ceremonies, and always prayed that a day would come and they would see Israel and Jerusalem in its glory.

Yes, humans invented god. Religion is made up nonsense. That goes for all of them.

Simple answer because the Koran, Bible and Torah says it’s the land of the Jewish people.
All of those (except maybe your Torah) also tells you to not be literal devil and kill innocent humans like animals.
No, that´s a bad misinterpretation, because the promised land is not from this world. That´s exact the reason, why the jews didn´t accept Jesus: They wanted a military leader, but Jesus said: " My kingdom is not of this world" and "they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them."
Non of them is a legal document to prove ownership in the 21st century ..

Jews and Europeans are actually very similar genetically, you have to imagine they were constantly being defeated in battle and brought to other lands.

"The problem with Israel, in short, is not-as is sometimes suggested-that it is a European "enclaves" in the Arab world; but rather that it arrived too late. It has imported a characteristically late-nineteenth- century separatist project into a world that has moved on, a world on individual rights , open frontiers, and international law. The very Idea of a "Jewish state"- a state in which Jews and Jewish religion have exclusive privileges from which non-Jewish citizens are forever excluded- is rooted in another time and place. Israel, in short, is an anachronism."---Tony Judt, historian
Jews don't have any exclusive right than non-jewish citizens in Israel. It's just not true. Also, a nation state isn't something anachronistic that only exists in Israel. Japan is a nation state for example. Israel however, in comparison to many other existing nations have every right to be a nation state and a safe homeland for Jews after the history showed us too many time what happens when Jews don't have it
Glad I found this channel. There's too much one-sided stuff out there.
40% of ashcenazi DNA originate in the the anciant levant
That's really funny as 50% of Ashkenazi DNA is ancient Canaanite as proven by DNA studies, and 70% of Ashkenazi Jews and 82% of "Palestinians" _(those known to have families in the land for generations, not Arab Levantine laborers or Muslim refugees from Europe or Africa)_ Share the SAME Y-chromosomes!!!
Also, both the diaspora and the in-gathering are prophesied in the Tanach. We’ve been saying “Next year in Jerusalem!” for two thousand years.

@tombuddy100 not true. Jews made up about 30 percent of the population in Jeruzalem. Kalif omar invited them back.

The Palestinians are Arabs from Algeria Egypt Jordon Syria and Lebanon Origins the Jews Originated from Israel end of Story.
If you read the Bible, the holy land was called the land of Canaan. The Canaanites inhabited this land. When a Palestinian gets a DNA test, they get Canaanite ancestry and their DNA closely matched the Israelite, more than the average Jew.
@@geegeeh.6118 Why do Palestinians consider Palestine to be exactly whatever Israel is?
Who determined the borders (of Palestine)?
How come Palestinians do not want any land that belongs to states surrounding Israel, only Israel?
After Jordan annexed "West Bank", PLO considered Palestine to be Israel, excluding West Bank.
When Israel captured West Bank, PLO changed the claim, now including "West Bank" as Palestine.
That is strange.

Take a DNA test bud. I guarantee you it won’t tell you you are from Palestine. That’s why DNA tests aren’t allowed in Israel.
The Jews who emigrated to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt, their ancestors were never in Spain, are not Sephardim. They follow the Sephardic rite, which is very different.

No response at all except it's a British project.
If you completely ignore what was said in the video and only want to hear what you want to hear: yes.
Palestine? Yes, it is. Israel, on the other hand, was a nation when "Britain" wasn't yet populated
The Balfour declaration was a Zionist project. The British were losing ww1. The Germans offered generous peace terms to them. Basically, go home, and things go back to how they were. The Zionists asked Germany for palestine. The Germans said no. So adam mayor Rothschild asked the British to get it for them. Promising to bring the US into ww1, so the British would not have to surrender.

They all seem like reasonable responses so far. “We were here, arabs were here, just like today”. If they want to live peaceably together… all is well. …but who are those sending rockets, detonating bombs, and stabbing bystanders constantly?
I live in the U.S. and have the same opinion. If you want to live here, I don’t care what your background is as long as you agree to abide by the constitution as presented by our laws (putting aside the fact that we have since gone insane)… all is well.
Well, that's exactly the thing. There are muslim people (that are just another religion) and there are Islamists (radical muslimists that believe in hell knows what). You can see in a lot of interviews that muslims don't agree with radicalism and they say that this has no connection to Islam.
About the terrorism. From one side, the hate towards Jews is a very old thing. They just don't want us generally, especially on "their" land. But also, they live in a blockade so it's very understandable that at some point they'll explode and send bombs (though, as far as I know, thay don't do it towards Egypt, but they are muslims too
they were never there though and even if they were there 2000 years ago they have no right to the land now. over 80% of zionists have european dna anyway so they were never there. They have just been murdering palestinians for 75 years and the wars will never finish until israel collapses. would you have liked it if people claimed your house and murdered your whole family? thats what americans did to the aboriginals. are you proud of that?
I think that the situation between the us and israel although have some similarities have also alot of differences
the main one being that the us foundation was indeed created out of colonization
of first english settelers and then others who escaped the crown in the pursiut of freedom and they were also the things done to the native americans
and than the buying of black slaves from african slave owners .
etc
now that being said it's also not to say that americans living today are responsible for the wrongs of their ancestors or denying that there were some stuff that the native did
but eventually there was peace between all the populations and they all became americans , slaves where freed and they all became realtivley speaking one culture (although there are still many problems in american society and alot of bad actors either holding a grudge, hating themselves , or think they are superior and things should return to exactly how they were 400 years ago...)
I also didn't mention the fact that women got the right to vote but it's less relevant for this topic specifically
(and I know it's very short version of history and alot of deatils are left out but it's for speaking specifically about these differences)
now in israel case it's also that the jews wanted safety from persecutions and progroms but we also had a foundation here being the ancient homeland of the jews
and it was the arabs who lived here ( as well as the rest of the middle east) that came through different colonial powers in the region ( including arabs and muslim conqeurers themselves)
and they who kept fighting against the jews and attack us time after time after time
and even when there have been attempts in the past to try to reach some diplomatic solution it ended in more violence from the arabs towards the jews
and yes there are people that argue that the us and the west in general should be abolished (besides communist or former soviet union countries) and that it's an evil colonial
racist system and they are complete crazies , and the not so funny thing is that they also project the same about israel with the palastinian arab and muslim propaganda .
claiming that the arabs are native and the jews aren't .
but yes it's deffenitly both ignorance and evil .
I also don't deny that the Us have had and still has many problems , the same as Israel .
but that does not excuse the behiaviours of the , arabs\palastinians , muslims or their communsit supporters , behaviour .
But if the Torah says not to have any land until the messiah has come then why Israel exists?
The Jewish state they say..
How can you be religious if you dont fulfill the commandments or the rules?
I am interested in religions and i want to look the same thing from different points of view, what do you guys say?
If by Torah, you mean the Five Books of Moses or if you mean the Tanach (Jewish Bible), it doesn't say anything like that. Perhaps you have listened to the Neturei Karta. There is an obscure passage in the Talmud which some interpret as meaning the Jews must not have their own country in the Holy Land until the Messiah comes but the majority disagree and there are different reasons. The Talmud is the size of an encyclopedia. Some of it is binding as law but other parts are not. The Talmud also has fables and legends.
