Because teams like Bosco and IMG can recruit from within and outside their states, whereas any public school in TX cannot. If they were to schedule big out of state games they would most likely schedule another public school who have similar recruiting restrictions.
@@alex1sku that is not what open enrollment does. Many districts throughout Texas have open enrollment for various reasons. For instance, a city close to me opened enrollment to receive students from the surrounding towns bc their city is land locked and has a very small population. They needed more students. Regardless the reason for open enrollment, it does not effect UIL rules. Any student that transfers to Northshore in grades 10-12, will forfeit a year of eligibility. Them and every public school in Texas are subjected to the same rules. Private schools in TX also have similar restrictions. At least they did back in 2015.
