Ken, Another great video and shave. I lost my Dad a few years ago too. We had a seafood boil (blue crabs, shrimp, sausage, potatos and corn on the cob) at my house withmy sons, and their families, and my father-in-law, on Saturday. A great time was had by all. I remember the old scents fondly. I think one of the first Christmas presents I received from one of my yournger sisters when she was able to buy gifts with her own money was a bottle of Aqua Velva.

My father is still alive, thank god for that, he smoked cigarettes since he was 15 years old, but some years ago he lost a good friend to lung cancer, also a cigarette smoker and he quit smoking, and went over to snus, wich is a lot better. «Smokeless tobacco» so i am glad i have him, he has always been there for me, sorry for your loss. Where Eagles dare is one of my favorites also, perhaps even more than Kellys heroes. Sir Richard Burton smoked as far as memory serves over 100 cigs or fags a day. Take care, nice kit.

Great shave Ken! I had an Aristocrat shave with Derby blades, some Sandalwood soap, and Eternity after shave and cologne before heading to Disney world, then being taken to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. Best father's day ever for me. I'm glad to hear yours was great!

When I was 8 years old in 1989 I can remember my dad using the Atra Plus then switching to the sensor in the early 90s. He always used Skin Bracer or original Afta.

I love your Father's day shaves! My dad (1953-2014) wore a full beard and only trimmed it once in a while so I can't do a tribute shave to him. But my grandfather (1925-2002) was a wet shaver and luckily I was able to save his old razor and brush when my grandmother (1929-2020) died in february and we cleaned out her apartment. Also the shaving cream (Florena) and after shave (Irish Moos) he used is still available today and I just have to restore his old brush and I'm ready to do a tribute shave to him.

We went to my dad's favorite asian quisene place with my Nanny (grandma) and then to rural King (basically a tractor supply on steroids) and I walked around with my Nanny. It was my dad's first father's day without my Papa (grandpa), the Lord carried him home in Sept 20, 2018. He had pancreatic cancer and my Nanny wanted us to wear our pancreatic cancer awareness shirts to the assembly of the saints (what most call church, but the Church is the Bride of Christ). I've got to shave tonight, haven't since Friday. I would do a tribute to my Papa, but his brush is not usable and his soap made my skin sticky when I tried to shave with it before and he used single blade disposable bics; I will finish it up with his skin bracer original green aftershave. Smooth Shaves to ya Ken.
Glad to see the vintage Velva! Last year I found an unopened AV Gift Set with 4 of their aftershaves, and likewise it would date to the 1970s but still has its potency. Of the lot only Ice Blue is still around and for whatever reasons Aqua Velva opted to discontinue the rest but I wish they still made Aqua Velva Surf or Frost Lime. Both are enjoyable!
Nice shave and happy Father's day. I got my grandpa's Gillette Contour. You can still get the Contour blades pretty easily here in germany. Only downside is they only come in a Plus version with a lubrication strip

BUT IF YOU WANT THE OLD,,,, Atra ,,,, Track II ,,,, OR,,, Super II,,, handles ,,,,, you have to buy one for a ridiculous price off eBay,,,,, or just get the Gillette Vector razor from India (seen them for as low as 5 bucks on amazon & eBay) that will fit & work with the old cartridges that they still make & sell and carry in stores today...!

What cartridge were you using? It didn’t look like a Gillette Atra but something like a push button blade cleaner like the Schick Ultrex Il cartridge
It was an aftermarket Atra blade on the original Atra razor
