  • We take a look at the latest OS release from X-Lite and review it from a security stance. We investigate firewall, and applications, as well as the size. We look at the good and the bad.
    NOTE: SMB Signing issue is a known bug in 11 and a patch is on it's way from Microsoft. While I can provide the Registry edit to fix this, it may cause update issues in the future, So, let me know if you want it anyway, and i will reply to you with it. (using the registry mod is at your own risk)
    Link to this beautiful OS: (NOTE: OS is 3.6GB on a slow download)

    have been daily using it for around 6 months, still switching between versions like Micro 10 or Atomic 11 v2 (my fav) and i gotta say, it is FAST. NO bloatware, NO issues (except add or remove windows features), etc.. .

    Thanks for the checking it.
    Another thing these guys has done well is maintaining core components and wouldn't break system usability. Many custom, lite or IoT versions of Windows usually have something removed, which, result in a corruption or blue screen if you are to do something out of the norm for average users. Case in point: using more than 2 gpus with/or modified drivers. Even clean iso from Microsoft REALLY don't like it either.

      Although, one quick way to verify that is AmernimeZone drivers if one of your graphic adapter is AMD. They specifically made it clear that it shouldn't be used on modified Windows, and there has been multiple reports of it breaking already.

      @@taktarak3869 Ive used that with nexuslite 10 it worked so beautifully everyone were surprised how some newer game titles ran smoothly so not sure why they would make such a general statement about not using modified OS. I would say those Asian dudes better be specific about why exactly what exactly requirement their modified driver needs and why exactly it would break. Someone ask them on their discord.

      @@ChuckNorris-lf6vo It's as i have mentioned. Big problems come from heavily modified system component or missing critical ones. They didn't make that statement out of thin air, people had problem and complained about it. If something have worked, it mean that either the core system is safe, or that you didn't jank your way until it couldn't hold itself together.

    Little point here, Microsoft do allow you to customize it. You right click the titlebar and click on properties and there you go. Have fun with that one!
    These guys also happen to offer another stripped down version of Windows 11, based on the 22H2 update, which has an ISO size of 1.28GB and 2.57GB disk usage (without page file). Oh and task manager reports about 50 processes and 800MB RAM usage, so the lightest windows install I've ever seen.

      Titus is a dev, not an engineer, there's a big difference in the field. That said, he's right, You should use caution installing and using custom OS's. That's why I like this channel, it gives somewhat of a view into these custom OS's. Obviously though, you should use caution when you use a custom system you didn't build yourself.

      What the other person said. Even Linux iso is not so safe either. You can look up all the meltdown going over LinuxFX for some reference on how custom OS can be dangerous.

      @GenericTechSupport  14 дней назад

      It's in the GIT repo.. RUclips changed the Terms of Service and won't allow links or the Reg configs in the description boxes any longer.. I am in the process of moving it all to the GIT.. it will take some time as there's over 100 videos of stuff.. sorry about that..

      If you want the latest DirectX and the best performance use windows 2022 Server standard with the GUI.. the UI is windows 10, but the Kernel is windows 11. It's really the best of both worlds and the lightest weight when it comes to the latest OS with all functions.. The issues with this OS are that you need to have windows updates for most games to work right, as you won't be able to get latest drivers, or fixes to the framework, which in gaming makes this OS a little buggy.. But 2022 Server, as buggy as it is, and it is buggy.. it does offer the best of both worlds and 100% supported..

      I honestly don't think that the bedrock edition will run on the X-Lite OS's without modification, all of which IMO would take more time than just installing the vanilla edition of windows back on your system.

      There's a Wiki page on my git that has all the details on where you can get them..
      But the best way is from the dev sites.. the terms and services changes on here, the links used to be in the description.. but it was stripped on the last update.
