It's very satisfying to watch you do the restores. Glad you should it working at the end. Outstanding results They don't make faucets like that anymore.
Nice clean-up. Thumbs up. For future reference, a public service announcement from your local spelling and grammar police: Don't use an apostrophe in a plural. The plural of thread is threads, not thread's.
The taper is how it seals the water. But your final assembly isn't tight to stop water from leaking. If the tapered shaft is able to move up and down so easily, it isn't tight enough to seal. But thumbs Up for your refurbishing.
@@metalartRestoration123 Me and my old man were trying to clean a stainless steel water tank from the inside, there was a build up of that white stuff that's left over from low quality heavy water, and Citric Acid with hot water made it flake off 100%.
Nice!! I'd much rather have that than a modern equivalent 👍🏻 I polished up the brass work on my stationary engine after using a soft wire wheel to remove the patina..... No scratch marks visible 👍🏻🛠️
@@metalartRestoration123 I like that you have basic equipment, like me.... I still polish with a drill and buffing attachment..... I would like to get a belt sander, though 👍🏻
Thanks sparky I'm in progress of restoring something now and I've got an idea to make a attachment so I end up with a grinding wheel and polishing wheel coming soon.
@zurdoremi you use a fine grit lapping compound (fine grit granules in a water-based solution) on the parts you want to fit and spin it until the mating surfaces match exactly. If you RUclips Valve lapping in an engine head, there are videos that show the process. It's really old school but hard to beat when two surfaces need to be the same.
@@mr.noneyabidness I prefer to send it to you for lapping. It is a tiny brass tap that screws onto the radiator drain port of a 1960's car. It leaks coolant drop by drop, not acceptable. Thanks.
U want me to take away all the history of this old tape sand all the dents out a shine to a mirror finish. I think u will enjoy the video I upload tonight.
Beautiful tap with second chance of life..👍👍
Love how old vintage products could be rebuilt and made usable again.
Brass is one of my favorite metals to work with. It sure does shine! Fantastic job! 👍
Thanks mate mine too and copper.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋
Amazing
Appreciate you watching thanks.
Nicely done
Thank you mate.
Beautiful valve! 👍🏼 Will last forever with periodic gasket renewal! 👍🏼
Beautiful work

Super good job

Nice work bringing it back to factory luster!"
Thanks mate.
Fine vintage item. I love such things. You did everything very beautifully. Excellent result
Thanks GR.

They don't make faucets like that anymore.
Thanks Lucas.👍
nice sharing. how do you fix the leak?
Thanks sand paper.
A bit of fine valve grinding paste will bed the plug back into the tap body. No leak then.
Ok thanks.

Thank mate.
I think he's playing mind games: thread's then later on dont
Looks great now well done.
Thanks mate.
رووووعه عمل اكثر من رائع
VERY NICE
Thank you.
You can use silicone grease on the rotating valve and friction parts to not get them worn out.
Very good restoration 👍👍👍🔥💣👌🏽
Thank you.👍
Great job! Nice old brass tap 👍🏼
Thanks David.
wow really good.Good job.guitar cover song. What do you think about this.Thank you for being friends with music.c

Citric Acid+Hot water=Clean Brass and Stainless steel!
Thanks Simeon I'll hav to give that a go.

I'll try and do it in one of my video's. I've seen that white stuff before in a galvanized water tank I think it's calcium build up.
Subscribed, nice work!
Thank you.
Great restoration was very good tap, as recently manufactured, has a new subscriber I'll watch all your videos, greetings
Thank you Verdejo.
Nice work, I love brass 😍
Thanks sparky might do a copper one soon.
I love anything made with copper or brass 👍 👍 😊
Wonderful result. 👍🏼
Thanks👍
Hello, some parts of the video have sound, others don't. I just like the sound of tools working ;)
Not sure I don't cut the sound out of the video.
good work , change the cork gasket to a rubber o ring, the leak will stop
Thank you.
you have assembled it wrong... the handle should be on the side when the valve is closed not facing front...
Nice!! I'd much rather have that than a modern equivalent 👍🏻 I polished up the brass work on my stationary engine after using a soft wire wheel to remove the patina..... No scratch marks visible 👍🏻🛠️
Thanks Armando I hope to be setup better in the near future so I can polish stuff to a mirror finish.

Yes me to and a bench grinder with a polishing wheel.
The 'horizontal chuck' I have on my polishing wheel (ebay) is one of the most useful things in my workshop Guys 👍 just saying 😊
Thanks sparky I'm in progress of restoring something now and I've got an idea to make a attachment so I end up with a grinding wheel and polishing wheel coming soon.
vinegar, is it useful ?
Not sure on brass but the vinegar and salt seems to work on rust I've used it in some of my other video's. Will be uploading more video's soon.
@@metalartRestoration123 thank you
Did it leak
Gloves...please!,
I have 4 from this
😣 - my eyes, could you turn off the image stabilisation/auto focus on your camera = to stop that shuddering/pulsing of the video, ☹️
Надо переставить ручку, чтобы в перед открывалось.
how do you keep it from leaking if it leaks?
Probably once it wears out u get a new one but it's probably over 50 years old.
You can lap the valve body to the housing.

Never mind I see it didn’t leak
Just a cleaning, still dents on the nuts and the body... where's the restoration?

Could have been done much better!
More of a clean up rather than a restoration 👎🏻
