    • @darshanaphukan1828
      @darshanaphukan1828 2 года назад +3

      z-test is best used for greater-than-30 samples because, as the number of samples gets larger, the samples are considered to be approximately normally distributed.

    • @gunjitasanwal5898

      @@abdulsuban2722 In the video, Sakshi has mentioned this wrong, Z-test is used best when the sample size is greater than 30 and population variance is known but we can still use the z test if we have a condition where we know the variance but the sample size is smaller.
      The main thing is we use the z-test for a sample size greater than 30.

      @@gunjitasanwal5898 fine but then why then anova test is taken?..i just need some light on it.

    • @gunjitasanwal5898
      @gunjitasanwal5898 Год назад +2

      @@abdulsuban2722 Okay see ANOVA is used when we have more than 2 INDEPENDENT VARIABLES or when we have more than 2 levels of an INDEPENDENT VARIABLE
      Let's look at Case I- When we have more than 2 Independent variables.
      Consider I am doing a research in which I am assessing if there is any difference between a student's grades based on their sleep duration and their study hours, so yahan pr humare paas 1 Dependent variable hai i.e. student's grades and 2 independent variables hai (1- sleep duration) and (2-study hours), to iss case me hum ANOVA test use krenge
      CASE II- When we have only 1 Independent variable but more than 2 levels of independent variable
      Consider I am conducting a research wherein I want to check which type of diet will be ebst for losing weight so types of diet I included can be vegan diet, Liquid diet , Balanced diet , non-veg diet etc
      so here we have 1 dependent variable i.e. weight loss and we have one Independet variable DIET but here we have 4 levels of Independent variable i.e. the 4 types of diet we are considering.
      Now you may have a question when to use ANOVA and when to use a T-test
      so both are used to compare the mean of groups but the number of groups vary
      If in the above example I had to check for:
      If a particular diet leads to weight loss or not, then I would have used a T-test , one sample would be of people taking that particular diet and other would-be of people taking no such speical diet.
      Here I have only 1 dependent variable (weight loss) and 1 Independent variable ( Diet)
      I hope this helps !!
