Pulled the trigger on that guitar a month ago and have not put it down since. That neck is solid, The poly coating is so thick, it's like it was dipped, yet that mahogany body seems to resonate just fine. I swapped the intonation grub screws in the bridge for shorter ones cause the long one's look stupid sticking way out, ( to me ) and surprisingly enough that wrap around lighting bridge is perfectly intonated once you set the "E" strings intonation. My fret board was very dry, I did three treatments on it right away. the volumes when rolled up after 8 they take off like ya stepped on a boost pedal. I love this Guitar, just say'in. Thanks Ben
Epiphone has been hitting it out of the park lately! This guitar has the same P-90s that came in my SG Classic. Love the bite especially on the bridge pick up! Yeah, I'd say yellow is the right color for the LP Special! Great demo Ben. Thanks!
🤟😁👍Played one of these at Zimm's Guitars. Very nice, pickups are reminiscent of early P90s fat and clean when dialed down and lots of bark when cranked. Sweet. Good demo.
LOL. I thought I had myself talked into a "Gibson Special", but, I've been so happy with the new Eppie Firebird I bought I'm thinking I'm going to try the Eppie LP Special! That has to be my #1 P90's guitar. The Rosewood substitute was not bad at all, that was one thing I didn't like, so good you liked it! Pups, wire, hardware, tuners we can fix. Thanks Ben!! 8) --gary
@@ferdberfle5069 Cool! I think you'll like it Ferd! 2 of my band mates stopped in, both liked it, one didn't want to give it up. LOL The pups surprised me! I was prepared to order SD's for it, but their great as is! Wiring, pots, caps etc too! I have a gold Babicz Full Contact TOM bridge I bought ~10 years ago, and never installed. I'm thinking I'll put that on it, and a "zero-fret" nut. I'd like the action to be real low! The bridge was the only thing I didn't like. When you get yours, I have 4 Tone Pros bridges w/string saver saddles (gold) I got crazy cheap on close out. I'd be happy to give/send you one!! 8) --gary
@@house-o-twang Thanks for the info!! I was also looking at a limited Squire Parallel Universe Strat, 2- P90's, a wrap tail bridge and 24.75 scale, w/'dark wood' FB. A short scale Strat!! LOL Interesting, and it's getting good reviews. With the price of the Eppi and Squire compared to that Gibson, I could buy both and have a lot of change left over!! Not needing to upgrade is great!! Thanks again for the info!! 8) --gary
Love the story behind the old, 'TV Yellow' (better than than story behind 'Old Yellor'). What colour best suits a modern , 'Streaming Guitar' I wonder (Definitely not Salmon Pink, eh Jay?). (Bet Charles says cloth covered). Cheers!

My intonation was also spot on. Great guitars for the money.

Yeah Gary, I've been G.A.S.ing for one of those Epi Firebird's too! Saving up my shekels! -Ferd
The pups are acutally not bad at all. The full sized hand wired CTS pots & caps really don't need upgrading. I just swapped the pups & I'm happy. 😀
