Song was written by Bob Dylan. They sing some great songs. They sang at the Lincoln memorial for the March on Washington where MLK gave his I Have a Dream Speech.
You will LOVE "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" by Peter, Paul & Mary. Check it out!
This trio was a magnificent folk group.
A classic Bob Dylan song for the ages. We are still asking the same questions 60 years later. Thanks for doing this beautiful rendition of a very profound song. 🌺✌️
A lot of great songs by them, The House Song, I dig Rock And roll Music, Leaving On A Jet Plane, Early Morning Rain, 500 miles, Don't think twice, ...........
Check out their version of "Lemon Tree"
Been 60 years since I first heard this song. Takes me back to a simpler and happier time. Miss all the great folk singers of that era: Peter Paul and Mary, The Kingston Trio, The Limelighters, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Diamond, Joan Baez, Judy Blue Eyes and so many others. Great music.
You can sing it, Jayy. Takes practice. They had a lot of great songs. We sang them.
Wow I haven't heard that song since I was a kid I love that song it's beautiful and I love the music the way it sounds great
Jayy your voice sounds great! 😊❤
It’s a timeless song and still pertinent today
Love the shirt 💜 and the reaction. My parents love Peter, Paul & Mary so I grew up on them. Probably one of the reasons I love harmonies so much.
I grew up listening them growing up
So importent song. Wounderful voice she have.
There are so many acts from 50s -70s that are talented, so some of even the best might not pop up too much. But PP&M was the top folk group from the early 60s. One of the top. If I had a Hammer is another antiwar song they did that was so impactful. The Kingston Trio was an incredible folk band that helped originated the 60s folk sound. Check out The MTA. The Weavers were another awesome early folk group.
Beautiful folk band
You should react to "Leavin on Jet Plane, by them, it's outstanding!!!
Simply beautiful with such meaning :)
My first concert.
Mary Travers voice was AMAZING 🤩
Love your Prince shirt 💜
You sing well. And you're funny 😅!
Peter, Paul and Mary -"Long Chain On" or "Stewball" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have you ever reacted to clearance Clearwater revival bad Moon rising
You sing very nicely Jayy.
Since you seem to appreciate Folk Music to a certain extent, I would recommend The Kingston Trio. I'd stick to the remastered original recordings as the only Live performances available were T.V. show appearances in the 1950's & 60's, and then without the original members in later years. The replacement members are alright, but don't have the same harmony as the original trio.
Songs of theirs that I would recommend:
Where Have All the Flowers Gone
The Reverend Mr. Black
M.T.A. (a fun song about a guy stuck on a subway train because he doesn't have the fare to get off)
Tom Dooley
Seasons In the Sun (which uses the original translated lyrics, not the changed lyrics from the Terry Jacks version)
♥♥
Bob Dylan wrote the song so he did not land on the same chord at the end of each phrase, unlike here...Bob's versions with the chords makes more musical sense, I don't why PP & M changed the chords....I was lucky to see Peter Paul and Mary in Lansing MI in 1986. Greatest concert just them with the 2 guitars and an extra man as bass player. Beautiful harmonies and a good time.
