I really don’t understand why MM doesn’t get wayyyyyyyyy more respect....
I dont think about this in that way. Mike get lot of respect just like the rest of the band. I think they arent "media guys" like the other musicians and people think if you are in every media channels you're good and things like that but thats not true. I saw band in 2007, 2018 and 2022 great shows and every time arena was full no empty seats.
When I was listening to a lot of Pearl jam songs when I was younger and then learning guitar, I was amazed at how much of Mike's solos are so based around the pentatonic scale. Possibly because I didn't know that scale then. He said he was very influenced by SRV and Hendrix. The more I learn from all of them I can really see how it all ties together. Thanks again for these lessons.

Hey, I'm learning this on my Strat with my 1991 pedal. I have all pedal settings set to 12 o clock, what settings would you suggest for my amp? I'm playing on a little 10" 30w Marshall. I like the sound that I have, but sounds a little muddy. I don't have that nice gritty crunch you have. Any tips on how I can get a little closer?
i'd set your amp to a clean setting and just use the pedal for gain. What i'd do is turn off the pedal, set the volume/gain on the amp to a clean tone you like. in terms of EQ i'd keep it pretty flat, start with everything at 12 and go from there. Then turn the pedal on with everything at 12 and tweak from there :-) the eq on the pedal is quite dynamic so just a case of trial and error. Hope that helps!

Are you using an overdrive pedal or is that the amp?
Well the amp is doing a fair bit but it is just set on the edge of break up, and so almost clean, and i'm using a light OD to get the rest of the way there. I think i was using my OCD for this one, but any mid gain pedal will work!
