Very strange to hear your accent and then hear the wrong terminology(from og SF2 to my ears). Was always called invisible throw and golden stance back in the good old days.
You rock.. so many memories lmao :) :) :) :) AMAZING job teaching people. Maybe Computerphile or someone can cover what was going on inside with the numbers mmhey 5:20 and then the guy comes out from behind his metal cage with his magic key STOP DOING THIS SHIT I'M LAZY 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At the Arcade in the 90s there was a guy that "owned" the machine because he did the magic throw and no one could ever beat him. This is why guns weren't allowed in the Arcade
When I used to play on arcade there was a glitch with Guile where if you jumped backwards to the end of the screen and did a sonic boom you could jump again before you landed and do another sonic boom. You would keep getting higher up the screen until you disappeared from the top and appeared at the bottom of the screen. You could keep doing this until the time would finish and when the time finished you would drop through the screen as many times as you had climbed up.
@@christopherkahui6445 thanks man thats exactly the one i'm talking about where you could do many sonic booms in a row. I wish i could play that game again.
I used this glitch to beat the game with 1 coin lol. While you' re doing mid air sonic boom to climb the screen, you can also throw your opponent by pressing throw button while Guile shadow was exactly at the same spot as your opponent. Throw animation was quite funny because your opponent will fall several times from top of the screen equal to how many times Guile climb the screen. So if you climb screen 3 times and throw your opponent, they will fall 3 times from top of the screen😀. Good times
For 29yrs my cousin has bullied me with Ryu , finally the beatings will stop "Revenge is sweet". Thank you for this information, better late than never
Early 90’s, I remember going to the video store around the corner from my grandparents house and Street Fighter had just came out for Super Nintendo, I had no idea it was out and when I saw it I went crazy, to actually be able to play over and over again and not have to use quarters, simply amazing, especially here in NYC because I honestly believe that the arcade machine owners would have the machine set to the highest difficulty setting to rape people of their money, it’s ok though because it was excellent practice, all joking aside at one point in my late teens/early 20’s I was literally unstoppable with Ken, my cousin is a video game master and he would hate to play me in Street Fighter and Golden Eye 64.
The “handcuffs” move would reset the arcade machine, I use to do it all the time especially when some dirtbag would put multiple quarters into the machine to not let other people play, I would shut it down and walk away, it would make a loud click sound when resetting, Classic stuff.
We use to play this game only to do the magic throw, stance etc. Trying to consistently perform magic throw to the death. Back in the 90's a glorious generation
It’s probably best to call the buttons light, medium and heavy. Because most people, including me, don’t know which button is strong and fierce. Unless you explain which buttons are which at the start of the video. Great video
this game came out in 1990 , i was just 14 then , every arcade had 50+ SF2 machines and people would line up play them , those were some days , had so much fun.. i remmember when i ddiscovered magic throw , i was over the moon and was oobessed SF2.. after school we spent hours playing , miss those days so much.
I’m a Guile user since 1992 and I remember when my mate and I duel in a MAGIC KINGDOM another SF2 edition were you can play same characters. From opening round until the end we both magic throws 😂 whoever make mistakes he will loose. Those were the times old school games are good and fun.
I thought i knew it all. I used to airthrow (magic throw) people in the heat of it often. So fun. Especially against something like Balanka's ball or dp
We would get these guile freezes but we didn’t know how to unfreeze guile. The manager would have to restart the machine, and even get angry if anyone freeze the machine. The way we used to freeze guile is a down+up and hit the two mediums at same time. The magic throw (we called it invisible throw) I never got it to work. But I’d play against some guys who did nothing but magic throws. Usually ends in a real fight. You put your coin in and get thrown over and over then game over. And whoever wins stays on for next challenger.
Only works with sf2 ww (not the patched revisions) aka the original arcade most ppl globally are familiar with. Works with mame and other emulators afaik and ofc the og capcom arcades
Did you just post another man's video? If this is a compilation of Guile glitches in his videos, you ought to have credited him in the title and not just at the bottom of the description. People here think this is your video.
he knew alot but i never though he would have missed the most fun glitch of all that guile had to practise being the catapault. id demonstrate but i just dont know where there is a sf2 any more near enough to me to show it
also other interesting things like kens invisible throw and zangief and chun lis fireball on this version would be cool to see also. a decent show at it though.
Actually you’re wrong about stopping the “magic throw”, in America we call it “shadow throw”, to stop it just turn (in real life) towards your opponent and kick them in the nuts, that’s called a counter strike, you like!
I spent a lot of time playing this as a kid. It was around the time people started doing combos, stance and freeze easily came from that. There were rumors of an invisible throw but nobody I knew had seen it or believed it until a Chinese exchange kid showed me how to do it. The next day I was the coolest kid at the arcade with a big crowd around me. A week later and absolutely everybody was doing it, or trying. These glitches gave sf2 a second wind and the patched versions never got played so vendors always installed the original versions. At least where I lived.
Just buy the 30th Anniversary collection for steam(PC), Ps4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The collection should have the Original version of the game, or download the rom and the MAME Emulator or other Arcade Emulators on your PC
Ive always known them 30 years plus but do you have any more other then indian guy can turn machine off as well and invisible im after any other cheats from other players

Holy shit he can read minds.
Yup
Yes, I was wondering.
yes

To be honest, that was the only way for me to beat Zangief''s piledriver. Zangief is almost unbeatable if the player masters that move.

I remember that... But I think this is only possible in hacks isn't it?
That's street fighter illusions where u do 10 Sonics 1 after the other.

the good ol days. brings me back to a great time in my life.

Hahaha
Thats kinda dumb of you considering first come first server especially if you have money. It's business
"I used to do it all the time" - sure you did 😂
Sure, nerd.
All you had to do in handcuff is to perform an invisible throw. That would keep the game going.

Strong is medium and fierce is heavy
its the old school way with really bad confusing names. 3 kicks are short, forward ,and roundhouse. 3 punches are jab, strong, fierce.
I agree, I grew up with light medium Heavy
Thanks for the thorough video. I've been always wanting to know how these glitches work!
Glad to help!

These glitches made guile legendary in vanilla arcade sf2...Best characters were him and zangief. Super fun and hard to beat. Chun li was fun too.
the primordial rage quit 5:45 .... "if i lose my coin, you too punk"
Thanks for this video, I had completely forget about how do some of these, I also learned a new name for Vega, “claw”.
TrueSinister so is the usa the only country with this switch?...like every other country still have the original names
@@adoboFosho Europe has the american names. So for us M. Bison is the dictator
I remember doing this in the arcade to the point we had to make a house rule on the game, no stance lock and invisible throws
We called these glitches by different names, freeze, stance, golden or untouchable stance, invisible throw, blackout.
Yeah that's right, and somersault kick was called blade kick.
We called it invisible throw too

My favourite video game of all time, the queue used to be around the block when it 1st came out.
Bro I been playing this game since 1991.... Only one I've ever seen in the arcade was the handcuff. Wow.

Guile came to fight the Psycho Power now he owns it
You're about 20 years late but thank you very much for the glitches❤
A lot of us are still playing these ROMs on PC with the MAME emulator
recordando los viejos glitches
Trust a kiwi to know all this shit lol, nice bro :D
wow this brings back some memories. How about the Dhalsim glitches?
"experience working as intended"
Ahh...death touch...brings back memories
Is this exclusive to the arcade version or can these work on the SNES version as well?
Ah yes...(the music though)
Guile throwing from a distance got patched in later revisions, a total bs move, we called it handcuffs.

seeing this in hi-score girl made me laugh so hard

My dad always uses stance and I’m just like boi
Please may i request this version of guiles theme ? i would be very grateful if you can send it too me
Kens got some cool codes too
no.
@Noob no Controle dude you know your Guile glitches, dang I thought I was good.
magic throw
wtf i cant believe guile is a force user!
This explains why guile is nerfed in new edition of SF.
I seen a kid get beat up at the arcade for using the magic throw to win a match lol
I don't understand the Free Flash Kick
does this work on the switch?
So confused how magic throw can be done on car? It doesn’t let you face the right way to do it?!
Do a low sweep with heavy kick he'll do that double sweep thing, charge while he's doing it and then you can do the throw
I glad all this is proff it was real

I wish there were Glitches in real life!
Who said there's not?
This dude just took nzvidsm video smh
what system are you playing on ???
@Retrogamer Dell bullshit he is using a mame. That's not the keyboard to the sf2 arcade.
This only works on arcade roms
