eventually mechs are something like giant robots controlled by a human inside it (actually that one robot at the preview of this video is a mech, too :D). they can be used as in civil purposes, the same as war machines (like for example in anime evangelion). you can usually meet mechs in sci-fi genre. my apologies for bad english!! i hope my explanation helps somehow atleast.
