Hello Vulcan, a nice defeat against the native indians....Though good gameplay, you stand no chance against these 'wild men'. Keep up the GOOD work!! 😁🤕👍
When I play as the British or any other country, whatever land I have, Ruperts Land, Jamaica, Bahamas I always, in fact the first thing I do is to increase my army personnel. If you want to keep your land you need to increase your army.
To defeat the natives, bayonets are a huge help as their morale collapses quickly VS line infantry. Colonial line infantry is weaker than the one recruited in Europe however. Cannons work great against cavalry too
I am playing right now as Prussia, now everyone hate me, because I create a huge empire, even that I still didn't send a ship to the colonies to create one of my own yet, to many enemies in Europe to deal with, it seems for every faction that I defeat in this game, other two declare war to me.
I'm going crazy watching you keep moving your ranged forces on attacking enemy! Keep em still. Its more effective to just wait for them to come to you! LOL
You really needed to build a Hessian in Rupert's Land the first turn as well as on the second; and a General as well on the second. These, with your starting forces there, can successfully repel the first wave of Hurons on Turn 3 even on Legendary difficulty. I look forward to seeing if the situation is still salvageable short two key units. Here we go - "Battle!". CTRL-S and CTRL-L are keyboard shortcuts for Quick Save/Load respectively.
Glad that it's not a complete cake walk, makes it more enjoyable to watch :) Also I'm pretty certain that you only go to war with the primary faction that declares war on your ally, not the enemies allies that join the war
Why are shirtless guys with hatchets so strong in the age of the musket? Silly musketeers, they should've realized that throwing rocks with slings was the peak of warfare.
Forget about making a land war in the first 10 years. Build up your trade fleets, your war fleets, build your army in port royal jamaica and London and destroy the pirate nation. If you take over both African trade theaters you will basically have unlimited money.
You forgot to put your troops into guard mode and melee mode in the ruperts land battle, also put your pikeman into a square formation when it got flanked and you would've actually won that battle.
I tried something different, I think. I took the first army I built in Britain and invaded Morocco. They didn't like it much and were soon in rebellion. That was fine as I taxed it for as long as possible, but when the rebellion started I burned everything to the ground, I mean everything, and then jumped on a ship and cruised to America . I received a little over $1000 every turn until the rebels retook the Capital. (3 turns) i made the extra bucks, cut out before it got icky and laid waste to a rich country right on Spains' doorstep. (They never did conquer it.) A win for me, kind of hard on the people of Morocco though. BTW, later I formed a military alliance with them to keep them from eyeballing Gibraltar.
It was an experiment, but in the context described it worked out pretty well. The strategy, like most, has an up and a down side. They get a little aggressive on your trade routes if you don't keep their port shut down
yes his tactics were terrible. in no way shape or form should you leave gaping holes in your line like that. they immediately went for the gaps. if he kept his units in one long continuous line he probably would have won
if two of ur units are in a melee fight do not use ranged units to attack them turn them into melee mode and have them help tht unit. The reason for this is because u will be shooting some of ur own units.
I agree Walter. They're great protecting the cannons against the more barbaric tribes that favor the sword over the gun. I put them right up on the guns with the first rank even with the wheels. Their high melee defense and long reach destroys any army which depends on cavalry or the sword. They weaken considerably against musket troops though.
Vulcan pls, i know this is a year old but don't fire your volleys into melee, you will kill just as many of your own troops as the enemy, its a bad choice, they could be firing at something more productive
This campaign might have been easier if you'd have taken out the pirates as soon as possible because it would allow you to sent trade ships to the trading zones without having to worry about them getting picked off by roaming pirate fleets. You can send one of your starting armies in Great Britain and build up a small army in Port Royale, the two pirate settlements are piss easy to take because they don't have garrisons outside of the pirate mobs that spawn in to defend the settlement.
It can be good to get a capable fleet in the Carribbean to farm the Pirate faction for Galleons; trade ships MUCH more capable of defending themselves. Galleons are far, far superior trade ships to the basic British Indiaman trade ships, so farming the pirates is a great way to have strong trade fleets early on.
Of all the times Ive played the British empire, I have yet to retain Rupert’s land even though I know its going to happen each time and I have a head start to recruit.
I played that game brings back good times . How ever your bathel strategi is terribel . That game has terribel comandes for the armi and is not reali precise before enemi armi reaches you or start charging you must press fast male atack on the or charging them comande to your trops ither by sword or bionet sharge . Defencive bariers are usefull tehnologi to dig in trops .The best trops I played were granadies they trow bombs and kill lot enemi crew and if posibel canister shot at close corters ,mostli charging with horses is done by the enemy backs that way I always won even with large armi atackeing my . So yes stupid play comandes for solgers they are to much sloppy . All in all good strategi game for that time .
anyone else find it really weird that CA changed the name and sex of the founder of the Daily Courant from Elizabeth to Edward Mallet?? googled to make sure and sure enough it’s Elizabeth. anyone know why??
You should've built troops in north America and the islands to invade north America and New France. You get all the colonies. You should've sent another invasion force from England to North America first turn and then stack some infantry and cannon on London while you own North America. Sending an invasion force to Europe is not a good idea. The pirates are coming for you too.
it really depends what you like , medieval 2 is like " old school" / at least for me ) because it remands me on better version of Rome Total War but Empire Total War is like the "modern one " or upgraded one also depends which year you wanna play but i would suggest you to try both games since they are fun and also big sale is right now.. if you want i can give you link where to buy it
@@bynamscott5564 Thanks for the info I actually just purhchased them both from Steam. ^^ Couldn't really choose between because I have intrest in both. :D
I have tried to play this game. I love the time setting. But I hate chasing the AI around every god damn corner when I am the one who issue the attack and enemy is defending. They always runaway from me in combat when I get near them... It is so frustatrating and infuriating. I just cant be bothered since every single combat instead of getting immersed in line combat all I can do is double click on the enemy and wait untill I fucking cought up with them...
If the person talking in the video would just play the game and make a decision instead of trying to explain things. People would be less turned off and actually take the time to watch cause it's like a movie and nobody wants to listen to some guy rant on about the game for 30 minutes. Not to mention he should also be close up a good portion of the time during a lot of the battles so that we could see the fighting instead of being so far away. This shit is just killing me and when I get back in country I may as well just upload a whole campaign done but with less talking and more doing. Hell I may even describe both the short and long term strategy. As for battles, I'll have 55% of it be close up to entertain people with the action and the other 45% will be maintaining my army or fleet and placing them into successful formations. Really wish people would do things like this but what do I know right.

Sorry the video is late today! Had a lot on my plate lately.
It auto saves every time you next turn and overwrites the previous save. It saves you're previous position before saving on the map.

I wish they had cutscenes for agents and events like they do in medieval 2 total war
I think there is for gentleman duels, but not rakes unfortunately.
Immediately subscribed when I watched your first viedeo. Thx for the great series!
My pleasure, hope you continue to enjoy!

Hard battle in the start. What you do is build every turn up there in north and recruit generals to help. Never lose that area.

Ok very necro, just reading through and had to say I do love it hearing about other peoples counterfactual ways they go about playing this.
That first battle was a disaster
yes his tactics were terrible. in no way shape or form should you leave gaping holes in your line like that. they immediately went for the gaps. if he kept his units in one long continuous line he probably would have won
He was outnumbered, he may not separate his forces in that situation...
Insn't the Netherlands the same polity as United Provinces? Fantastic series btw --looking forward to a binge.

That was a terrible battle the natives of North America kicked your butt. You should always build troops there first turn.
Love your content man. Just started watching your stuff n there top vids. Specially where you take your time and explain everything. Cheers dude 👌👌
15:00 they are trying nothing it's just bad AI bro lol
Should have put pikemen into square formation as soon as they were flanked. They would have lasted a lot longer
Completely forgot about square formation, thanks for the reminder.
I've always found the pike men to be very useful early on. Especially against the native american tribes. Love your channels! :)
