I do not understand the philosophy of steinbergs updates. The implement time tracks, which is very difficult to program it, but no simple pcm drum machine which is in every daw I've seen so far. Thats essencial .
@@deltech1 thank you but that isnt as comfortable as a real drum machine. It needs one like in caustic3 . That DM is incredble simple and effective. Load sample, pitch sample, set attack and release, left and right and volume + step sequencer.
Once you download it at 1.8gb and then download it again natively within Cubasis itself, is it then double that size or is it 1.8gb in total? Thanks in advance.
You download it twice....yeah I thought a little strange but the Cubasis version is integrated (if that makes sense) so uses its own sample pool. For some reason. :D The standalone app also installs the Auv3 format version to use on iPad Logic or Fruityloops etc. If you're on Android, you only have the integrated version as there is no Auv3 on Android.
@deltech1 yes I get that but my question is when you install it natively in Cubasis is that then another 1.8gb of storage required on top of the original download? In other words, 2 x 1.8gb or just the 1 x 1.8gb?
@@biggersoundI just double checked with the release version as I was on the beta; so to clarify If you only install the Cubasis iconica that needs 1.8gb. Just 1x 1.8gb if you only use in Cubasis. Then separate to that; If you want to install the standalone app version (which includes the auv3) that’s definitely another 1.8gb download, just checked. Strange they can’t share the same sample pool but there you go
@@deltech1 ok thanks. How do you actually only download the native version? Because as far as I can make out and I could be wrong, you can't get the native version unless you get the stand alone/AUV version first.
@@biggersoundso you do it through the Cubasis shop icon (top right next to setup) then scroll down to Iconica Sketch. You’re correct - It looks like you may need to buy through the App Store first BUT you don’t have to download the content on the app store version unless you want it- just don’t click the “download 1.8gb” icon that appears then you launch it. Then you can install the Cubasis integrated version and only install the 1.8gb content there. Phew. Getting a bit complicated this 😆 The new FM Classics presets are fantastic too, recommend checking them out if you’re into your FM synths.
I bought it, installed it and there is no sound, all icons in the application respond but there is no sound... other instruments are fine. I don't know what's going on?
@@deltech1 I already solved the problem. I accidentally bought Iconica Sketch in the Apple Store, installed 1.8Gb in Cubasis DAW for iPad, the brown icon appeared in AU and in Cubasis' own instruments. Everything worked, but there was no sound. I uninstalled Iconica Sketh, but with no effect, so I also removed Iconica from Menu - store and reinstalled it from Menu - store - Iconica Sketh, without installing from App Store and everything works. Thank you for your reply!
Do you use Iconica Sketch in Cubasis? Please make sure you've downloaded the 1,8 GB content of the instrument. If the problem persist, please file a bug report in our forum at steinberg.net/cubasisforum.

Classic machines and mini sampler have some excellent drum sounds and 909/808/linn type plugins integrated into Cubasis. Worth a look!

That's weird. Are you using headphones? The integrated version or standalone?
