Hey, someone with bpd (borderline personality disorder) here, I completely understand rue because even tho we have different disorders bpd is pretty much bipolar disorder but with more shit to it. This is what it's like for me: there's the mood swings that I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain. There's depression, just straight out depression, where my mood is extremely low, I don't have any motivation, I'm tired all the time, ect. There's the overwhelming, crushing emptiness, I feel like I'm hollow inside (emotionally/mentally). There's the depersonalization and derealization, which means I feel disconnected from my identity and I sometimes feel like I and other things aren't real, almost like a dream or I'm watching myself from out of my body somehow. I either don't know how to describe myself (my identity and personality) or ill describe myself one way today and differently tmmr. I have extreme difficulty trusting and opening up due to fear of abandonment. There's the paranoia where i feel everyone is judging me in a negative way or everyone is nad at me or that people don't really like me and talk to me for bad reasons. I get extremely angry extremely quickly (some people call it borderline rage). there's the impulsiveness where I'll do shit like spend money I can't afford to, cut and dye my hair, run away, run into traffic, ect. There's the self harm, suicide ideation, suicide attempts, ect. And then there's the mania, that's when I get quite literally insane, I feel invincible, I feel like nothing could ever hurt me, I am God, and ill do things I normally wouldn't do and I'm not aware of it, i hyper fixate on everything, I feel like I know everythingthere is to know about my and/or other situations, it's like I can see everything so clearly. And there's no cure or anything so you have to have a fucking war with your own brain every single day. You just have to learn to live with all the awful things that come with it. There's DBT therapy which is made for people who have borderline personality disorder and it takes THREE YEARS of the therapy just for the bpd to become even slightly manageable. Also 14% of women with bpd die by suicide by the age of 27. And there's no medication for it, there's just a mix of meds for other mental illnesses like I take zoloft (antidepressant and anti-anxiety) chlonadine (sleep) and I might get put on a mood stabilizer. I have 14 failed suicide attempts, 2 hospitalizations, 4 ambulance rides, 13 trils to the er, 5 hotline numbers saved to my contacts, im going to a fucking live-in rehab place for 3 months, I'm on 6 different meds (two different ones for bpd and the rest are for my other disorders).
