They didn’t set the camera speed, because Jeffrey can ride such as fast as in the video, and the gravity, AND the motor sound is like in the reality, so I think it’s not fake!
American Hunter also to u guys have to realize this video is older so the camera didn’t have and sort of hyper smooth look at old Ryan villopoto vids and then look at the most recent ones personally I think I liked it when the cameras didn’t have any sort of hyper smooth makes the vids actually look fast
Imagine being one of the mere mortals out there riding your guts out, thinking “this is the best I’ve done yet” only to have JH come ripping by at warp 2 speeds.
Despite Jeffrey Herlings undergoing surgery to repair a fractured femur, the fastest sand rider on the planet still has a badass vurbmoto Platinum coming out August 5th on iTunes. The 12-minute video follows Jeffrey around the world, five countries to be exact, and showcases him riding and racing at tons of different tracks, including this one here, Eersel in Holland. This is not sped up, we promise! Be sure to check out Jeffrey and his amazing skills on iTunes August 5th!
For the people saying this is sped up, if you knew anything about the way a dirt bike sounds, you would know by the sound of his bike that this is most definitely NOT sped up. He really is just that fast. Jeffrey Herlings is a beast.
vurbmoto would not speed up a gopro and post it online. if you don't know who Jeffrey herlings is believe me he is this fast. probably the best sand rider ever!
no they wouldnt but ive been on that track they widend it for him and the turns arent the same and they also made a second exit for the other riders so they wouldnt be in his way
I've looked it up: Herlings won the first moto with a 5 seconds gap on Webb; Webb won the secondo moto with a 5 seconds gap on Herlings; so where did you hear your story ?
i still say tomac web forkner any of our country usa would whoop any euro any day,and i dont like euros anyways since i heard everts open his big mouth in 99
Saw this guy on TV racing in Germany at the MXGP, definitely one of the fastest riders I have ever seen! The way he was attacking corners racing against Jeremy Seewer was crazy, if he can stay on the bike he will be unstoppable. Hopefully the MXGP will come to Australia one day!
+SoFlairful I'm Swedish and I find that statement weird Because nearly all my friends hunt and use their own guns. It's just that we're not allowed to own a freaking AR-15 without a professional reason.
I see one person in the comments put "from what iv seen in videos he looks arogant and cocky" hes actually not hes a really nice guy met him a few times out in belgium, first time we met him one of our bikes was burnin oil slightly and we didnt have any with us and he just gave us a full bottle. Sound bloke hope he recovers soon!
Then you must have never ridden a dirtbike. Jumping is easy compared to riding whole tracks in the sand. They give you a bit of respite, sand doesn't. allthough jumps are a bit more dangerous when you get them wrong.
in sand you have to keep it pinned. at this level they just pin it as they go over the hills bumps jumps and get the bike airborne, then just figure out how to adjust it in the air. the suspension handles the landing and they just pin it again.
Until he steps up on the 450's and beats Feb, Tim, Ken Roc, Dungey, Tomac we'll you'll never know. My money would be on Roc and Tomac in the sand. Would love seeing the Top 10 in MXGP and the top 10 U.S. riders race Daytona's big sand track. Would be awesome!!!
He couldn't touch Ken Roczen right now. He's struggling against Forkner here in the MXGP of America. Not downing him...He's one of the best, but until he goes against the best we want know. The young guy from Spain looks good as well.
Tomac and Roczen would be no match for Herlings in the sand , youre so wrong ... dont you remember last time he raced a big bike on sand ? he lapped youre best guys at MXON .... on any other track it would be great but on sand nobody comes even close ......next year you will see another MX2 rider coming up and dominate the MXGP class ...Herlings . Just watch the races and enjoy
He's a great rider and sand rider. I just believe Roc and Tomac are both fast on sand as well. As of right now no one has had much of an answer for Ken on any track. I do think Herlings is a top rider, just not sure he can be crowned best until it's up against all the best on a sand track. But we know how that pans out, someone always gets injured or want go to the MXoN like at Lommel or such. Would love seeing the top 20 in America and GP's run three races. Would be very fun.
Sped up my ass i have only ridden in sand once and i know thats how much momentum you need to keep up in order to float through those rutts like he did.
+ktmjack1 You actually can shift without clutch. I do that to sometimes ( not very often, because it is not really that good for your gearbox, I only do it when I have no "time" to grab the clutch, like when going over a long roller/whoops section) . I have my RM 125 for 3 years now, still no need for new gearbox. But it is better to not do it :) I'll not recommend it :P
+Theo van Cappellen (Khoning Khat) doesn't it just destroy the dog gears? How is he shifting without releasing the pressure on the transmission? I know you don't need the clutch, you can shift with the throttle but he's wide so I'm still wondering what's going on haha.
haha but there's two options, he does remorseless because he can lol, or he has an special clutch system like rekluse one, i dont know the name of that type of clutch
Dudes fast, cant wait until he's healed up, would be fun to see Cairoli come over too, so much talent all over the world, just have to get them to all race together lol
Herlings would beat the MXGP riders on sand too on a MX2 last year Valkenswaard Herlings fastest lap was 3 seconds faster , total racetime 40 sec faster average of 49.4 km/h .... Cairoli did 48.1km/h Times of both winners 222Cairoli, KTM 35:21.48 17 laps fastest lap 1:55.97 avg.speed 48.114 km/h 84Herlings, KM 34:41.46 17 laps fastest lap 1:52.95 avg.speed 49.402 km/h
Richard does it matter I dont get how he is so damn fast. he isn't on any better of a bike and everyone can see him race every time and see how he handles the bike but nobody can match it. its nuts
well if it was sped up the engine would sound like a wasp on helium ,I watched him at hawkstone park ,believe me he is that quick ,he takes lines no one else or very few would
And for all of the people saying that American's can't hang with this guy, MXGP ran a race in Charlotte, NC last year. Two Americans (Cooper Webb and Austin Forkner) entered the race and both of them beat him. Austin Forkner was in front of him most of the race, got passed by him once then passed him right back and stayed ahead the rest of the race. Cooper on the other hand, got a bad start, ran Herlings and Forkner down, passed them both and never looked back in the last race. Keep in mind, that these two guys are young and are still making names for themselves in the sport, they are fast as fuck and Cooper is a 2 time champion already, but they aren't even the fastest riders America has to offer.
+Bodie BeBernes I was implying quads are for pansies because they're so easy to ride, when I hop on a bike I actually have to use some fine throttle control and actually ride the damn thing instead of sitting on it like I could on a quad. But yeah I guess I am a dumbass saying I can ride a quad faster than dirtbike in sand, if you rode you'd have a clue on what I'm talking about. Look up the contact area of quad tires compared to a bikes then open your mouth.
How could some people still say that this is speed up?! I've seen him rider on another track in Holland (while I was practicing too) , and he was so damn fast, you really can not imagine. I just could not believe that you can ride that fast! ( And I'm serious, he was really really fast ) 100% sure that this is not sped up.
I would like to see Tomac and Roczen do lap times on this track against Herlings. It would be very interesting, but I think Tomac and Roczen could pull a faster time.
Tomac and Roczen will probably not beat Herlings on this track. But I still think that Roczen and Herlings are on par with each other in other tracks (maybe Roczen's a little better), and I see Tomac above (he is DAMN fast...). Tomac is the only one that I see having a shot to defeat Villopoto right now. And RV's probably the number 1 in the world. Just look at the 2013 outdoors seasons: he won 3/4 of the races, and without real difficulties. The guy's not only the USA n°1, but he's pretty outstanding there.
Lelouch Vi Britannia I don't know if you can compare RV to world world right now cause he missed motocross of nations this past year. But he is for sure the best in the states. Herlings is no doubt the best sand rider in the world and i would have loved to see him race South Wick and honestly he most likely would have laid down the best time at a place like SW. But when he comes to a place like Millville i think that's where the Tomacs and Roczens are better, the harder packed stuff. But it's sad to hear about the injury and would have loved to see him against the greats in the states at dilla.
No way will Tomac and Roczen be able to beat Herlings round a sand track, even if he's on a 250 and they're on a 450. There's a reason why the video is called fastest sand rider on the planet. On another track then yes maybe, but on the sand no. In 2012 at Valkenswaard (sand track) he lapped everyone up to fourth and no one else was within a minute of him, since then he's only improved!
When it looks fast on Camera, its fast
My thoughts exactly lol
Or they shipped up the camera
Camera set on 2x speed? He is fast but I know a few desert racers me included to say fastest in the work in sand.

Anyone who's ever ridden a sand motocross track knows how insane this is. I got arm pump just watching it.
i was upset at how much it would have hurt to hang on, after the first corner.
Well, my self esteem is gone.
Watch it in slowmotion :)
abracing199 lol
TheMotocrossRider this was probably shot in time lapse hahaha
abracing199 it's fast forward
jacob williams no this is 1-1 speed. Herlings is god tier.
I'm just here to sell beer to all the dummies that think this is sped up.

vurbmoto z
Bro he is to fast
I love and hate watching videos like this all at the same time, I have a good weekend at the track and feel great till I watch this.
For the people saying this is sped up, if you knew anything about the way a dirt bike sounds, you would know by the sound of his bike that this is most definitely NOT sped up. He really is just that fast. Jeffrey Herlings is a beast.
You know you're fast when it looks like x1,25 speed at normal
Great showing of skill ! Get well soon!!
vurbmoto would not speed up a gopro and post it online. if you don't know who Jeffrey herlings is believe me he is this fast. probably the best sand rider ever!
Plus, you would hear it on the engine noise.. I don't hear anything sped up.

Well Copper Webb whooped his but hear by 20 seconds on a sand track North Carolina look it up so no I don't think he is the fastest.....

Herlings won the first moto with a 5 seconds gap on Webb;

"my name is jeffrey helings, you may have never heard of me"

bet he was like that rider is sped up. Shitty part is he thought he was fast till herlings zoomed by lmao
He probably felt like Ricky Bobby after his big crash “WERE THOSE THE OTHER CARS?!!!”

ktm 250f sorry if its a year to late lol
That’s the speed I feel im going at the track, then I get home and check the GoPro footage 😂
I got arm pump just watching this bruh
Like riding at the beach & not too many obstacles. So wide, perfect for quads.
I would love to try that track.
Does anybody know if he is using the clutch on the start? I can't tell.
I didn't see anything that resembles a "jump" in the whole track, except those little hills he went over !
In Holland are more tracks with a lot of ruts and stuff than jumps. Ruts are a lot harder to ride than just jumping around.
Then you must have never ridden a dirtbike. Jumping is easy compared to riding whole tracks in the sand. They give you a bit of respite, sand doesn't. allthough jumps are a bit more dangerous when you get them wrong.

This speed is absurd. The KING!
Damn!!! All momentum!! He’s always on the throttle.. when he Jumps, he’s low as possible and yet keeeps his momentum.. he’s in his own class..
quad on the track, wtf?
lucky old mate didnt crash into it, so dangerous!
it would be cool to see him rip around southwick, USA. lommel looks a lot harder than southwick.
I'll race him! Hold this drink
What happened to image stabilization on his GoPro?
Awsome, if it was sand at Miami Beach id be slowing down for a perve LOL, Good stuff and Great Riding
