  • As efficiency demands rise and the need to operate at lower and lower temperatures, Electronic Expansion valves are becoming commonplace.
    In this video we discuss some of the basic operation and and bypass methods of EVX (EEV) operation including using a thermal imager.
    Special thanks to:
    JD Kelly (student_of_Hvac) for the digital art.
    Carel for letting us use their cutaway CO2 valve
    Emerson for letting us use a video clip and slide of their EEV.
    This video only scratched the surface, here is some more in depth information for electronic expansion valves.

    Any videos how to troubleshoot EXV EEV's? Is it check the pressure & voltage? AC or DC voltage? Is it the same in mini split? Help me learn please! 😢😅🎉

      I am a ways away from that but Craig With AC service tech llc has those videos and a mini split book that's awesome!!

    Can a eev magnet be used as a lls magnet?

    • @love2hvac
      @love2hvac  Год назад +1

      No,
      LLS is a single round magnet trying to pull upwards,
      The EEV magnets are separate spaced evenly around to simulate the steps and poles of the motor position.

    Can old piston metering systems be converted to use an electronic txv? Do they make kits to do that? Do those systems replace the defrost board wirh a controller board (if they are available)?

      They do make an EXV retrofit kits. Especially used in refrigeration.
      I don't know about any universal ones integrated with the defrost board though.

    Is once a screw Pen valve And the other is a gillertine. One It's highly more accurate at regulating But the other one A far more simpler and cheaper design. The valve needs to be Regulated through a very sophisticated monitoring system. I'm pretty sure the guillotine isn't so strict. The actual sensors sensors are probably digital with the Guilloting an amalog with the Valve. Cost difference must be outrageous And a constant headache calibrating at any point. While a girl'valentine is digital Position 1234 that's probably it. I'm regulated most likely by a simple silhouette system.
