Bro, Don't. Ever. Stop doing incredibly thorough reviews like this!! Lmao. It is very difficult to find reviews that give descriptive images and views of the product. Very good review man, I'm sure we all appreciate it!
Very decent detailed review. That is the pro. The con is...you are a consumer. You should have had a wall strip of both next to each other. Not one on the back of your monitor and one on your wall in a much longer strip with the ability to actually see the strip and not behind a physical monitor. Still, great stuff!
The Govee music sync box is a must have if you own more than one of their light products if music sync is important to you....using music sync modes independently on each lighting system at the same is literally no match for what you can achieve using the sync box.
I'm personally waiting for Govee or any other manufacturer to incorporate true individually-addressable LEDs (not just segmented control) into their app, so that if I have 300 lights, I can control each LED as is done via Arduino. The Novostella is nice but I'm sticking with Govee for now. Great channel - just subscribed.
i think he could have went over on govees Features because govee has so much more things that he didn't talk about. also i recoment govee because you has a million more customization option's then novostella
i wanted to buy govee light strips, but because of Your vid i noticed that Novostella could be better purchase. Why? I love dancing to hard trance music and thus i want to decorate my room with fierce lights *.*
I use seven Govee light systems at the same time in the same room with that type of music....using the Govee sync box you will achieve what you're looking for....the Novostella doesn't come close.
@@MrTekSuggest It's come a long way since it first came out. I like that you can bring different devices together and control them from one app/browser. The learning curve can be a bit steep but most stuff can be done from the gui now.
@@jefffrilot9667 I hear ya! I’ve been using IFTTT for a very long time now to bridge devices from various manufacturers , and I’m honestly trying to limit my use now since the subscription base. Have you used IFTTT as well?
@@MrTekSuggest I used to use IFTTT but I've been able to replace everything with Home Assistant. I would suggest checking out the Home Assistant web page first. The drzzs or digiblur youtube channels are great to get an idea of things you can do. A minimal setup would be a Raspberry Pi 4 starter kit and upgrade to an external SSD.
Looking at buying the music sync RGBIC Strip Light - can you keep the colour the same when using music sync mode or does it have to cycle through multiple?
About Govee and cutting them along the marking it worked for me. Maybe we don't have the same product, but I have Govee Dreamcolor RGBIC under my daughter's bed, and she accidentally broke one of the LEDs (pulled something out from underneath the bed and literally scratched across LED and broke it, I could never think that is possible). if that was at the end of the strip, no probs, end is at wall side of the bed, but the problem was that the segment that broke was in front, so the rest of the strip didn't work. I thought "heh, it's broken, I have nothing to lose" and cut it at marking, ran 3 wires to the next marking, connected it, and it worked. like I said, maybe it's not the same product or maybe I had luck, but in my case, cutting strip and reconnecting it worked.
That is a very fascinating story. And well done. I have not actually tried physically cutting an RGBIC strip from Govee, simply because Govee advises against it. But it is good to have this information in my back pocket. Many thanks
@@MrTekSuggest no problems, thank you for your videos! And about cutting Govee, I would not do that either if the strip was working, but as damage was done at 80cm from start, and the rest 4.2 meter was dead, I was like "why not, it's broken anyways" :D
Um govee has a huge problem with that version. I had 2 and both did same thing as yours. Design defect. They know it. Ask them they will give u a new set. Trust me. I know cause I looked into it.
great content, your videos have come in handy at the perfect time since i’m looking at these solutions for my setup. Quick questions what is that clock you have on your desk it’s really cool looking.
Appreciate it! Love these kinds of comments. The clock is called the echo spot, but it has unfortunately been discontinued. You may have luck picking one up on eBay, however! The echo show 5 is also a cheaper alternative that’s available now, but the footprint is a little larger.
@@MrTekSuggest I really appreciate it! I also subscribed to you and look forward to more content! I would also be down for a potential collab if anything comes up.
This was THE most helpful LED comparison video I've seen. Especially of the top 2 brands. Thank youu
I appreciate, glad you enjoyed!

Thanks for watching! And agree, mass produced individual addressable LEDs would set the industry on fire

what does "sync audio from device" mean? like when I select that option it just does random flashes of color
does the novestella have a non rainbow music mode?
Great review. The govee light strips can be integrated into Home Assistant which is a game changer.
Appreciate it! And I haven’t leverage home assistant very much. How do you like it?

This video was so helpful I think I have madr my decision to go with novostella

I have cut 2 and they both still work. Use this information and decide on your own though-I can't guarantee you'll get as lucky as I did

Can I play music with my phone while is connected to a Bluetooth speaker?
Thanx for the vid ! TEAM GOVEE ALL DAY THO !
You’re very welcome;)
I like the new intro bro 📺📽
Preciate it
for the novostella LED lights can you play your own music on spotify?
Not internally. But there is an external mic they can pick up external audio from speakers for example
I’m looking for light strips that sync to music via Bluetooth, not via a mic… any recs?
Me too
Have y’all found out?
Great review! I might make a comparison between the two!
Glad you enjoyed! And most def. I had a lot of fun testing. You’ve got shone good content over there. Subscribed.

@@CrewElite Sounds interesting! Just dm me via my email
@@MrTekSuggest Alright! Will keep in touch!
both seem to have a pretty extreme delay to the music
novostella and alls good but the new govee is too op
Thank you!
Thank you!
Can u cut the novostella?
I have not cut my strip just yet. I know several folks who have without issue. But from what I know today there may be a risk in performance
Govee is like 3 times more expensive now then Novostella
