Honestly I love my PT01 I added the jesse dean on and off switch, the fader and a few other upgrades, I honestly use this guy at gigs more than my turn tables for scratching,
Plug this bad boy into a mixer and use that fader and it totally changes the game as well!
Thanks for your short review..
thinking of buying a second hand atm. Think I am gonna do it.
Just thought I'd point something out, I own one and I'm also a left handed scratcher (left on fader, right on record) it's without a doubt possible to use this thing as a lefty. I haven't even adjusted the position of the switch. You gotta position the table differently than a right handed scratcher would, that's it. I don't know why you'd torture yourself by learning right handed...I've put a few hours into this already and it feels comfortable.
P.S. I do recommend an external fader...such as the Raiden Fader or the Stokyo Kutter. Gives a more authentic feel and opens you up to a whole world of different techniques. For us lefty's this is also a god send, you can position the fader however you choose so the placement of the on board switch won't be a problem.
Zach Berci yea I was also wondering why he just doesn't turn the turntable so that the fader is on the left lol
practice bro, we all start somewhere.
Can you only scratch on the 7'' vinyl or with a 12'' too ? Will using the 12'' record cover the fader ?
It won’t cover the fader
You could scratch with 12 but it won’t stay in place cause the platter is smaller..you can play 12 though it doesn’t touch the fader
lol man, I got mine last week and I love those. totally worth it, Numark really did great this time.
Im looking for a good portable speaker, I was thinking about Monster Rolling 2.
me and you are on the same boat. I might shop with Jesse Dean for the speaker. thanks for watching.
I just ordered mine I'm super stoked I got my babu duck breaks 7 inch I'm nervous about the fader so I got a portable fader just in case I was cutting it up last night on my technics and I broke a needle it got me to thinking how beefy is the head and needle and will I be able to get replacements none of the reviews I've watched has said anything about it
Buck Russell het bro where did you find the dj babu super duck 7inc
Buck Russell Bahari tone arm is about 50 dollars. Openformat.la it's a solderless upgrade that uses a classic needle so you can swap them out.
What's a recommended portable mini speaker to plug into this system with RCA plugs? Can you recommend a couple for purchase?
Just got one. Started working yesterday
So I could go travelling and buy old records and it would play any sized record for sampling?
Happy to scratch on the 45 size but would want to sample on every size possible lol
You can use 12” too
Shit you sound better than I did last night when I unpacked mine. It's gonna take me a minute to adjust.
I just got mine in the mail today. I am waiting for my 7" vinyl to come from Mega DJ. I have the new "Cut & Paste Masters - 7" - Yellow Vinyl -Combinations with Rhythm and Flow" on the way. I will be ordering the white vinyl version of "Practice Yo Cuts vol 1&2" shortly. Good review and PRACTICE YO CUTS, HOMIE!!! LOL!
thats great! You deserve to excited because its an early Christmas gift. I think I might scoop a copy of the Combinations with Rhythm and Flow. Might as well get a copy of the Super seal 2 seeing that its going for a better price (at Mega DJ).. I'm getting a little better seeing that I can take this setup anywhere so I don't suck so much lol.
Ave Mcree That's what's up!!!
can it play 12"? i have alot of 12" vinyls
Just wanted to say thank you for making this video! Idk why all these people feel the need to comment rudely; if they knew everything they wouldn't need to be watching this video you made. Keep at it brotha!! Good for you and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
WHEN WERE TECHNICS 1200 A THOUSAND BUCKS EACH? I BOUGHT AND SOLD THEM FOR YEARS AND NEVER SAW ONE FOR MORE THAN 500 BRAND SPANKING NEW.
Dude, the brand new technics are $1200 right now! Did you forget people have eye balls? Technics back in the day pre-eBay where $1000 at the cheapest!
@@AveMcree I BOUGHT MY FIRST BRAND NEW PAID IN NYC IN 1998 FOR 440 A PIECE FORM A RETAIL STORE. I BOUGHT THEM USED BEFORE THANT FOR 250 EACH. AND I SOLD HTEM IN MY OWN STORE FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS FOR 450 EACH. IN THE VIDEO HE SAID BACK IN THE DAY, HE DIDN'T SAY THE NEW ONES. THE NEW ONES ARE NOT WORTH IT CONSIDERING WHAT YOU CAN GET ON THE MARKET TODAY.
Technics are worth way more than that right now since they quit making them so good condition Technics are worth a lot! But yeah back then maybe not quite as much as now. Just got an offer for 3000 on my mint condition Technics!
there are no 1/4'' trs outs or ins
Do you need a preamp to connect for sampling into drum machine ?
no
so much fluff bro get to the point, you have solid info just lots in bs in between
Yo Ave, how does the factory stylus look to you after having used it for a while? Is there noticeable vinyl wear? Should I get a different stylus for it? Thanks in advance man
there is a better stylus out but I just ordered it and I will do a video once I get it. Right now the stylus is ok at best.. It skips a bit on a few records I own when I scratch but that was expect when working with it. Best way to avoid it is to use skipless vinyl
@@AveMcree Hello 🙂Could you please let me know which is the better stylus you were referring to? (I want to keep the factory tonearm and *not* install a pre--amp yet.) Many thanks!!
Glad to see you kept to beat makin and not dj'n 🤣
I want to ask you guys if anyone knows the levels of the headphone output, would you recomend a phone-amp for the outputs or it is decent for monitoring-recording
should I buy this or the regular $99 pt01?
if you plan on buying a portable fader or just want to listen to vinyl.
That moment when you live in Serbia and fucking have no idea where u can buy fucking vinyls like you have...
Like your review.

Damn I watched this after I bought one. XD
What exact Practice Yo Cuts! record is that?
dope video funny thing is I bought mine before I seen the video lol
jack of all trades!
*damn* I want one! Thx for the intel mcree
Is there any way you can think of to make this into a dvs system?
yes, matter of fact there is plenty of software thats on the ipad, a fader, and serato 7".... here is a link to a dope DJ that did this already and he has all the info in the description on his video ruclips.net/video/vIguoU78xqk/видео.html
the rca to soundcard is what translates the signal from the turntable to the computer. he did it with an ipad. Could i do that with traktor control vinyl and the traktor soundcard? Does this idea make sense?
MrGoodbye23 yes it will work the same way. However, IDK if the fader on the PT01 would respond due it not being able to translate midi. There are seperate portable faders that will though.
Do i connect the fader to the soundcard the same way i do the turntable?
yes
hello spinning machine), are you just learning to scratch? And I'm learning).
Can you switch it to hamster? Cause i scratch hamster...
By that i mean the crossfader.
NorwegianTroll yes, you can unscrew the toggle switch and make it hamster style. I replaced my toggle switch for a fader.
Yea you can get a few different mod options. The Jesse dean fader is a solderless upgrade for about 80 bucks. Fits right into the same spot as the toggle.
can they be used for good old playback or will it only cut?
Yes, it will work for just playing records
Can this thing play 12 inches records as well?
Jerohn Deen yes
compatible fl stüdio ?
Anatolia MusicTv yes but need an audio interface so you can record into fl studio.
i have tc electronic konnekt 6 deskop , steinberg ur 12 , ux2 sound card is use ful ?
U don't need to put too much pressure on a tiny controller 🤣🤣 when scratching
You know ,you know ,you know ... 😂
hehe...aaaahhhh practice
its funny i used a normal record player to scratch adn di even have a crossfadeing in it
they were 500 a piece not 1000. I bought like 6 of them.
Robert Cappitelli in 1993, a 1200 went for $1000. Hell, you would be lucky to buy one now for $500.
so so not true. they been 500 since day one have not changed price till the day the patent expired
so so not true. they been 500 since day one have not changed price till the day the patent expired
geetarRamblin really? Then explain why the new 1200s are $1000+ a piece? Anyways, I'm done arguing. Thanks for watching.
The "NEW MODELS" being different than the old ones, you know that right? Have a new price, cause they are new models. New models new price, nothing new here. But the originals $500 brand new all day everywhere since the 70's Price never changed not once. No matter what you think. I bought 4 I know.
the exposure is too high
Scratching ain't for everybody :) Nice video though!
Gianfranco Forattini ?...
LOL I scratch my back better than that
What a waste of my time. 😂😂😂😂
fuck. this makes me not want to get it. lol I suck with my left hand cutting and right hand fading
I posted about this, but I want to make sure you get the info you need, bro. I'm left handed as well and it is definitely possible. If you're still interested in picking one up and haven't yet, by all means do so.
you sound like ice cube
Not being rude but you need to learn the beats that your scratching too and your scratching needs to be improved
I actually pointed that out in the video lol..... thanks for watching
W H Y ? This may be a year ago but u stupid af not to be rude
What up with the down votes???
Down votes don't exist anymore lol
worst beat I've ever heard
You can't wax fam. Worst review I've saw
