I think some artists use "flash" when they really mean that they're custom designs that they want to do, but weren't drawn necessarily for a specific client. I've seen some artist call them "wannados" which to me makes more sense, but I've seen some artists call these "flash" designs as well. So they will only be done once, but since they were pre-drawn rather than drawn based on a client's idea, that's why they call them "flash" I guess. Anyways, adding "wannados" into the terminology list might be good as well. So glad you're making videos again, love your channel!
Loved watching this! I'm so happy you're making RUclips videos again because that's how I discovered your art, and I think it's amazing by the way. I'd love to get a tattoo from you at some point in the future, but unfortunately I live on the east coast of the United States in Massachusetts (I'm like an hour away from Boston) and have no opportunity to travel to you anytime soon but fingers crossed some day! Do you ever plan on tattooing in the United States at all?
Hey Holly, I love your videos, so so helpful! I was wondering if you would do another apprenticeship portfolio video? Or more information on what would be good to put in a portfolio, how to organise it etc / what tattoo artists will look for in one. I’m currently making mine but need some advice :) Thankyou x
Hi Holly! I love watching your videos and tattoos ^^ would love to get one day if I ever go to the UK ❤️ Can you do a terminology on different tattoo textures/versions like traditional, neo traditional, etc?
Good too see you back, Holly! I'm loving the new hair and the glasses (are they from firmoo?). Thanks for explaining Flash. I've been seeing quite a lot of tattoo artists posting flash work and thought it was just a one off they'd pre-drawn. X
Hi Holly! I really enjoyed this video. Could you create a video of how to create a flash tattoo sheet? Or recommend how someone can create one. Cheers! 🤘🏽
Hi Holly...i'm moving from South Africa to Lancaster next month and I can't wait to come visit you and make an appointment..Your work is phenomenal...Love following you and your work. Bless you x
I already know one tattoo "slang" word - "tat". It is short for "tattoo" or "tattooing". It can also mean "tattoo design(s)". As a verb, it is possible to use "tat". This would mean "to tattoo", "to create a tattoo", or even "to do a tattoo design." For instance...... "As a hip-hop artist, he loved to tat in his own parlor to an average of 100 clients per month, mainly through flash designs." Or.....as a noun.... "This artist had made 200,000 tats on 200,000 clients--enough for a Guinness world record, perhaps."
What is the term for tattoos that aren't flash, but are pre-designed by an artist so that it's still picked out by the customer? I have a giant thigh piece that was like this - the artist drew it up and really wanted to tattoo it and I loved it, and while it's the only one like it (the design wasn't re-used), I don't quite know what to call it since I didn't go into the shop and ask for the idea to be drawn.
Hi Holly! You’re such an inspiration to me. I love your art and tattoo style. I’m an aspiring tattoo artist, but drawing is such a challenge for me. It’s rewarding but very frustrating because I’m starting from the basics. Do you have any advice on combating the frustration of learning how to draw? I’d love nothing more than to be working in a shop and potentially having my own one day, but I fear that the drawing process will keep me away from my dreams. Thanks again xoxo
Experiment! Keep at it! Learning when it comes to art is one of the hardest things you can do, but its so worth it. Definitely keep at the basics and I would really recommend finding different subject matter you like
I personally would only get a flash tattoo if it’s from a legendary tattoo artist, because getting a flash tattoo that’s made by Sailor Jerry, Ed Hardy, Bert Grimm and Jacob Doney, ect…. It’s rich in history and honorable to wear.
@@James_D_ Absolutely can! Flash tattoo designs are the only tattoos you are allowed to copy. flash designs are created to be shared. I am actually planning to get a sailor jerry flash of an anchor in the near future.
Ooo In some months I'll be going to the UK with my School, but we are sometimes free to go where we want, I would love to go to you and get my first Tattoo but I'm not old enough yet… :( but don't you worry, I'll be coming for you when I'm old enough to get a Tattoo~

As time has gone on it’s started to take a new meaning of ‘any pre-drawn design’

That’s still a custom tattoo!
My artist calls them "wannado's" 😊
Thanks for all the info. Do you or your shop sell flash art? Love your art style btw!
When did you take out your dreads? How long did it take and how did you do it? New to your channel so not sure how long you've had them in for.
Is a traditional symbols or letter is a copying-tattoo?

Have a look through mg channel I did a video about how I taught myself to draw, with tips. You can do it! 💖
Love your videos, Holly! Which artist did the rose tattoos on your neck? They are lovely!
Freddie Albrighton, his work is wonderful!

Is it okay to ask a artist to copy a flash design by someone like Sailor Jerry?

Do you think you'll do a guest spot in the U.S. this year or anytime soon?
No plans, just the ones I talk about in the video
My daughter is looking for a tat in Memory of her lost ones..perhaps u could help her.
You'll probobly have to email her to discuss any ideas for tattoos.
Hi Holly, do you think you'll be doing anymore real time tattoo videos? X
I will!
I’ve missed you (:
