This will definitely be a good few tips to keep in mind for the public speaking course I get to take this semester. Thanks a bunch to David for making this subject so interesting that I actually wanted to take a course in school for it, beyond it being required for my major (which it also is)
Would ya look at that, David's first 2021 video, hope the new year goes fantastic for you guys, and just as David said, hope you make this year the best you can have! And I hope this Public Speaking 101 will help you be a better communicator!
I can vouch this fact bcoz I smile a lot... all-time....so when I'm in a bad situation I smile unintentionally.....that improves the situation.... David is awesome.....We love you
*The* most useful video yet! It's similar to what Jordan Peterson has spoken about. One of the first rules in his book is to "stand up straight with your shoulders back". He talks about serotonin, and the effects of that.
He is so much fun to watch. He inspires confidence, so I guess he's actually practicing what he's preaching. Btw, Jacksepticeye brought me here, and I'm so glad he did!!
I found your channel yesterday through jack and im so glad i did because as of this moment im going to have to be talking to people for a job thank you
Haven't seen the video yet, but had to comment anyways because at first glance I thought the title was: "improve your body image". And I was so surprised that you would make a video about that, i really didn't expect that type of content from you. So I was a little confused, and then really exited and ready to hear what you have to bring to the table. Then I read the title again, and now it makes a whole lot more sense:P
Nice !! I'm going to try this one : slow down and be confortable !! Just by body language you can increase your body language confidence. I'm keeping this one. 🙏🙏
I think it's interesting that positive body language seems to gives greater benefits than negative body language reduces. It makes me wonder if and why positive body language has a greater effect on emotions than negative. All the more reason to take a more confident posture though. Great video!
There were also studies done on "brain-blind" people, as in occipital malfunction but their actual eyes were fine. They were shown pictures of genuine emotive faces (happy/sad/angry etc). As long as light from the image reached the amygdala (fight-or-flight response), the participants began to feel and mirror the emotions expressed after a few minutes.
It would be very interesting for you to take a look at Matt Mercer while he is playing dungeon master on Critical Role. Talk about a great example of public speaking
Thank you so much Mr. David!! It helped me a lot, I appritiate ur hard work, keep it up!! I love how passionate you are about everything u do and ur plubic speakings!! Love your channel!:D
David, these kinds of videos might not get as much views as your reviews of popular people, but I just wanted to let you know I think these are very interesting and educational as well!
Hi David! Happy New Year! I recently subscribed to your channel, I find it very helpful. I saw your TED talk where you had a chart with 60+ minutes tips on body language, tone, etc. think for would be cool if your created a short video for each. Just a thought
Hey, I just wanna say I’d love to see you react to Neil Gaiman’s public speaking. His speeches are very inspirational and effective to me, and I’d love to see you’re perspective on that
[This is not a hate comment towards you David JP, please] I'm not quite sure what you mean by extroverted/introverted body language. I'm an introverted and confident person, introversion/extroversion and confidence are not related to each other as far as I know so I'd really prefer the language "confident" and "timid" poses of body language. Hope you understand what I meant.
Seems like an easy thing, but under stress many may forget about that and focus on other things. I like this video, but it would be nice to say, how to get good at this body language at least in this particular case.
i'm happy i got exposed to this channel through sean, and this channel needs more attention on his non-youtuber based videos! this one is a banger right here.
Check out senator Ben Sasse youtube page and look at his most recent speech after attack on capitol. Amazing speech and worthy of your critique. Also senator Cory Bookers speech right before his was amazing as well
@@DavidJPPhillips Omg you replyed? I am a new youtuber and you have honestly been helping me getting confident on youtube. even if they cant see me doing those movements in real life affects how i act in the recording and its great! I guess people dont like these videos cuz they dont have some big youtuber they like but i still like them.
I have no idea if its possible or has enough material to reaserch and react upon, but could you react to Juice WRLD. My absolute favorite artist who has inspierd me alot. idk what people say, i like him, id love if you could make a video out of it. JUST found your channle after watching all, KSI, Jackespticeye and Pewdiepie reactions, LOOOVE your content so far
my intersex arse: *ready to take on a war with my endo who thinks I should reduce my naturally produced testosterone with birth control because he assumes my gender is female*
Because we all need to increase our confidence so we can...gamble? Take risks? Put ourselves in harm's way? Make questionable decisions? Hmm. Maybe I'll work harder at developing my introvert skills instead so I'll be less impulsive.
2:30 "Just by body language you can increase your body language" - David J.P Phillips
"...confidence" 😉 clean save by the one and only.
Ah the floor is made of floor
He saved it in the nick of time though, and that's the difference between a master public speaker and a rookie
So true 🙂
This is the takeaway

I loved the interactive connection with the graphics! Brings them into the conversation somehow. I dig it!!
Body language is a game changer I see
I noticed something nice. He uses the word i.e in most of his videos. It feels nostalgic almost.
He is so much fun to watch. He inspires confidence, so I guess he's actually practicing what he's preaching. Btw, Jacksepticeye brought me here, and I'm so glad he did!!
1:19 absolutely love it!
Do you have some more tips on overcoming stagefreight and nervousness?
Have a school presentation this week and I'm sure this vid will help. Thanks David

What’s the significance of turning your body side to side like he does? Changing which shoulder is closest to the person. It really caught my eye.
I found your channel yesterday through jack and im so glad i did because as of this moment im going to have to be talking to people for a job thank you

I really love these types of videos, because they're not just a chance to learn, but also to self reflect. Thank you David! We love you🖐

The introvert in me: Dude!!! RUN!!!!
I almost expected him to say "yo boi" at the end there, lile "yo boi JP Philips" that would've been pretty epic but I still wasn't disappointed.

Oooh so that might be why i seem to have little confidence when speaking. I have been thaught to be polite and therefore quiet all the time.🧐
Hey david

Haha yes the core public speaking videos I do seem to be getting less views. 🤔
