  • Brendan Fraser recently took home an Oscar for his role in the movie, The Whale. In order to portray the morbidly obese character, Fraser wore 300 pounds worth of prosthetics to embody the character. However, critics said that the character should have been played by someone who was actually morbidly obese. Dove also decided to jump into the conversation to criticize the use of a fat suit in the movie.

    The Whale was supposed to showcase that his lifestyle was killing him. He accepted that. The redemption arc was showing that you can overcome that horrible lifestyle and make amends with yourself, the people in your life, etc. The bittersweet tragedy was that he overcame it too late……..But no, the body positivity people couldn’t see that. It was just “CaSt FaT AcToRs FoR FaT RoLeS”

      the fact bendan absolutley destroyed his body on the mummy movies. asking him to gain a bazzilin pounds for a role would be inhumane. the fat suit was a matter of personal safety with how badly he wrecked his body adding of a few hundred pounds would of done irreversible damage.

    As someone said, having an actor who weighs 600 lbs+ would be extremely difficult for both the actor and the whole crew. The actor would be very limited in movement due to his size and the crew would have to maintain him.

      I don't know what it's like and hopefully I never do but as someone who wants to make people feel better, don't think of people being happy with their obesity. Think about it as them being so lazy and having such low standards that they gave up and brainwashed themselves to feel better and they don't want to be alone. And if you feel like you would fall into that mindset, think of how much money it would cost. Think about how you are happier more healthy, money, and better body actions. I hope this helps and if you didn't need this advice then have a great day or night.

    I kinda miss the previous “body positivity” movement, it was generally just about people who are burned victims, people with Down syndrome or general traits people usually couldn’t change without very extensive surgery and usually that doesn’t help. Now it’s just “you can be 600 pounds and dying! Never change! even if you’re about to lose 30 years of life!” The fact that Dove is a company that’s encouraging morbid obesity publicly now makes me think how crazy the movement has now turned into.

    I remember getting a call back for a dove commercial when I was 10 or 12 years old in Canada. I’m 31 now. The commercial was about beauty standards influencing young girls. They told me I didn’t get the commercial because they were looking for girls who were directly impacted by the beauty standards of magazines and movies etc. we were all under 14. I told them I wasn’t affected by magazines and that bullying at school was more of a problem to kids. They didn’t like that answer 😂I remember this specifically because after that call back I started saving lunch money to buy j14 magazines and getting obsessed with Disney stars and comparing myself to them. I didn’t care about beauty at 10 until dove told me that there are beauty standards being pushed 😂

      Girl, you don't need to watch fashion videos to tell you what to wear. You just choose whichever clothing gives you the feeling you're searching for. Do you want to feel comfortable? Sexy? Confident? Edgy? Just go to a store where you can try clothes on in a dressing room, and try many things. You will find the direction you lean towards if you're just honest about how you feel in each garment. I really hope that you find your own style, on your own, instead of finding it by watching what other people wear.

    • @jessicafrazon7393
      @jessicafrazon7393 Год назад +2

      Ps. Don't get discouraged if you find nothing at certain stores. That just means you have to choose a different store. Most stores do not have every type of style, and if what you're looking for is more unique, it may be a bit harder to actually find, but still very doable. It may be a good idea to look though websites first just to see the different types of clothing that are available out there.

    People need to stop listening to this whole positivity movements tomfoolery, it's not gonna make you special, unique or relevant, work on improving yourself rather than trying to make some group happy, they'll most likely turn their backs on you if it's convenient.
