Started reading Indian Lake trilogy this month and getting to Angel like this week. This series is very fun and very interesting. Never quite knew exactly what he was doing or where he was going in book 1, book 2 changed things up again but I was fully on the ride for it and still he kept it fresh. Really, really a good time.
Oooh I really need to reed The Space Between Worlds, it's been staring at me from my kindle for way too long. Glad you had such a great time with this sequel! And I just read Just for the Summer and loved it, but it is definitely the 'heaviest' of Jimenez' books so far (but also has the best book boyfriend, Justin is the GOAT!). Happy reading 🥰
I'm curious about the Indian Lake trilogy, might pick it up at some point in the next few months. I hope your next week goes better! So, I'm kinda late for the check in, but this Saturday I *FINIHSED MALAZAN: BOOK OF THE FALLEN*. And oh my fucking god, what a conclusion and what a series. Really incredible. Even at the halfway point of The Crippled God I wasn't expecting the sheer awesomeness of that ending. Crazy good
Glad Those Beyond the Wall worked for you! And gardening & listening to audiobooks sounds like a great way to zone out when life is stressful. I read the new Abby Jimenez book and quite enjoyed it, so I hope your hold comes through soon!
Oooh an excellent set of books. Currently very slumpy but hoping I can get to Indian Lake soon (although other books keep getting picked by the wheel of choices for my bookclub haha). Very excited for Seven Surrenders, and might try and get to it by the end of the month.
I also really enjoyed Those Beyond the Wall; I was surprised by people who say it's so angry, because... I kind of expected more anger, based on the author's note? But it didn't feel that way to me. I didn't like it was much as Space Between Worlds, but I still thought it was quite good and did some interesting expansion on the world. But, also like you, I didn't re-read Space Between Worlds first, so I don't know if it retconned or undermined anything there.
I've had 60 pages left of Where Peace Is Lost for a week and just no time to finish it. I'm vibing with it so I'm anxious to finish. Glad to hear it stays fun. 🐍
I was so lucky and got a "skip the line" for the new abbey Jimenez, I hope you are able to read it soon, it was SO good. I'm sure you're getting lots of recs to read Radiance by Grace Draven but I'm going to pile onto it anyway 🐍
Ah, I've been waiting for your opinion on Those Beyond the Wall :) good to know! Currently reading The Spear Cuts Through Water and wow! you were right, it's a crying shame this book didn't get nominated for awards. Enjoy Seven Surrenders!
I'm currently reading Too Like the Lightning and am hoping I can finish it this weekend. I wish I could listen to the audiobook while I'm at work but it is very much a book I need to read physically.🐍♥
Im waiting for u to read Empire of Silence to tell me if its actually THAT GOOD. That series is long after. Everyone is saying that the “payoff is worth it” but like whats this payoff?? Having fun? Cuz then i’ll just pick up Red Rising to continue the series. But i trust your judgement 😅😂
Those Beyond the Wall was soo good! I don't understand all the negative reviews!

Grace Draven is so good! I hope you love whatever you pick up.
Thanks! It will be my next read if I am not in the headspace for scifi later

Yea like it just felt very blunt and that might also be a turn off for some people but sometimes I like a blunt thematic story
Sounds like you've been having a decent reading month
