STRADIVARIUS WINS ONE OF THE ALL-TIME CLASSIC RACES YOU’LL EVER SEE AS THE CHAMPION JOHN GOSDEN TRAINED STAYER FOUGHT BACK TO BEAT A BRILLIANT SPANISH MISSION BY THE SMALLEST OF MARGINS IN THE 2021 LONSDALE CUP ON DAY 3 OF THE EBOR FESTIVAL AT YORK.
Watching the replay and see them head and head and then Stradivarius laid his ears back and said "Not today." Fabulous! Brought a tear to my eye.

Watched this amazing race a few times now but only just noticed they hit 40mph in the last furlong, after two miles, seriously? Incredible.

@@HorseRacingGlobal It seems old guards still got plenty left in their tanks Spanish Mission is a top horse no doubt but in this race Straf and Frankie resisted his charge.
I don't care what the distance, what a horse race! Tremendous heart by all competitors involved, gotta think the horses love it too.

Stradivarius is one exceptional horse to have Spanish mission head him and to dig down and get the bob is true grit! He was not going to let any other horse better him. Grand stayer and as an Aussie I stand and applaud his character. Especially now after Spanish mission running a super Melbourne cup to finish in the top five in the Cup is outstanding. A similar scenario to what I thought Stradivarius would end up doing to Kew Gardens as well in the 2019 British Champions Long Distance Cup. Much like here at York in the Lonsdale Cup, Stradivarius & Kew Gardens both ran a blinder that October day at Ascot as well that left you thinking how impressive the effort was from both horses. When Stradivarius came back and headed Kew Gardens with a furlong left I thought it was katy bar the door for Kew Gardens. But the stubornness shown by Kew Gardens that day along with his refuse to lose attitude ended up getting him across the wire a nose ahead of Stradivarius, but neither did or would've lost a thing in defeat they both ran so well. The exact same can be said about this race too and the incredible effort that Stradivarius & Spanish Mission both put into trying to win the Lonsdale Cup at York that day.

Great race ... Spanish Mission was outstanding heading Stradivarius twice in the final furlong ... difference was probably the Jockey more than the horse

Strad’s amazing but, Spanish Mission almost had him! I was hoping for the upset honestly. It would have made for a better horse race.😍 congrats to Frankie and Strad though!

INCENTIVISE is a little short considering the level of stayer that SPANISH MISSION is but those WFA wins by INCENTIVISE at Flemington b4 the cup show how much class he has..It’s a genuine heavyweight match up for sure.

@@jezzadelirious4921 I won’t be ignoring him..He’ll be up on that speed for a long way..He’s a 9 year old now though and he’ll be relying on INCENTIVISE to not get the trip because he’s got more brilliance (faster horse) than Twilight Payment.
