Some points to note regarding the above video:
    1) Values of a0, a1, and a2 are obtained from the Pole Star Tables provided in the Nautical Almanac. The tables will be titled: Polaris (Pole Star) Tables
    2) Sometimes, the DR latitude may not be given in the question. In such cases, for the purpose of obtaining the a1 correction, the true altitude may be used , in place of the DR latitude, to enter the Polaris tables given in the nautical almanac.
    3) The latiude obtained by an observation of Polaris must necessarily be North because the Pole Star is not visible from the Southern Hemisphere.

This question was asked n the OOW SQA exams in UK yesterday 6th July. Since this was never taught in college nor asked in past SQA exams since 2012, none of the candidates could attempt the question.🙂

Thanks Sir, Regarding a0 correction I think the left column is not fraction of Degree(for LHA of Aries). If LHA 55 degree then we should see 50-59 column above then 5 on the left column. If LHA 55.5 then interpolate in between left 5-6.

You have written total correction while getting values from refraction section. True alt is gained by solving app alt and refractionq
